First time I saw Neon Strike Vi in champ select was back in season 3, some random blind pick normal around 1 AM. Thought it was a completely different champion for a second. The neon aesthetic hit different compared to base Vi, who looks like she crawled out of a Piltover junkyard. Not gonna lie, I bought it the same week and it stayed in my rotation for a solid two years before I had enough skins to swap around.

What Neon Strike actually changes on Vi

So this is a 975 RP Standard tier skin. No new VFX, voice lines stay base. What you get is a full model overhaul and a custom recall animation. Vi trades her heavy industrial gauntlets for these sleek neon-colored power fists that look like they belong in a cyberpunk arcade. The color palette shifts hard from the gritty Piltover browns to bright pinks, yellows, and electric blues.

The outfit itself is wild. Vi gets these futuristic shades she lifts up during her recall, which is honestly one of the cooler recall animations for a skin at this price point. Kinda feels like Riot put extra love into that one detail. Her hair goes from the default pink to a sharper neon pink that pops against the darker bodysuit.

In lane the skin reads clean. Her Q charge-up is easy to track, E auto-resets feel the same, and the ult lockdown on a backline carry still looks satisfying even without custom particles. Played maybe 150 games with this skin across Diamond and the clarity is never an issue. Some older skins at this price look muddy on Summoner’s Rift but Neon Strike holds up. The gauntlets specifically have enough visual weight that you can feel the punch landing even without fancy VFX.

Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations feel slightly snappier with this model. Probably placebo. Still, when you’re chasing someone through jungle and spamming E resets, the skin just looks right. Clean punches.

The Demacia Vice line and when this dropped

Neon Strike Vi released December 19, 2012. That puts it right at Vi’s launch window, one of the earliest skins for the champion. Part of the Demacia Vice skinline, which leans into that retro-futuristic neon vibe. The Demacia Vice set wasnt huge but the aesthetic is distinctive enough that you recognize it immediately.

(Random aside: this skin predates like 90% of the Vi playerbase. Most Vi mains I run into in Diamond started playing her around season 6 or later and have no idea this was basically a launch skin.)

No splash artist credited in the data, which tracks for skins from that era. Riot wasnt always transparent about their art pipeline back in 2012. The splash itself is solid though, Vi looking confident with the shades, gauntlets powered up. Holds up better than some splashes from that period. Voice pack is base only, so you’re still getting Cia Court’s original Vi performance. Honestly its fine for what it is, the base voice lines have enough personality that you dont miss custom VO at 975 RP.

Shop has it. Permanent availability, no vault rotation or loot exclusivity. Zero chromas for this one.

Should you pick up Neon Strike Vi?

Real verdict: 975 RP feels fair for what you get. The recall animation alone adds personality that base Vi lacks, and the model update is significant enough to feel like a different experience in your ranked games. Been maining Vi with this off and on since season 4, keep coming back to it even with Project and Psyops in my collection.

Best Standard tier Vi skin if you ask me. The Demacia Vice theme gives her a personality that fits the champion fantasy better than Officer or Debonair. If you’re a Vi one-trick climbing through plat or diamond and want something affordable that still turns heads in the loading screen, this is the pick. Skip it only if you already own a Legendary tier Vi skin and dont need another option in the rotation. For everyone else grinding solo queue with Vi, Neon Strike earns its spot.
