Lunar Beast Fiora

First game I loaded into with Lunar Beast Fiora, my duo partner thought I was playing a different champion. Not even joking. The silhouette change is that dramatic compared to base Fiora, and honestly I wasnt sure how I felt about it at first. The whole mecha-beast fusion thing hits different from what you expect out of a duelist fantasy. Took me maybe 15 games before it clicked.

How Lunar Beast Fiora actually plays

The VFX overhaul carries this skin hard. Q lunge leaves behind this bright red-gold energy trail that reads clean in lane. You know what surprised me? The passive Vitals. They pop with a warm crimson glow that makes proccing them in trades feel more satisfying than base. Could be wrong here but I think the visual clarity on Vitals is actually better here than on Project Fiora.

W riposte gets a nice red barrier effect with beast motifs woven in. Solid. E auto resets have new hit particles that feel punchy without being over the top. The R Grand Challenge markers take on the Lunar Beast aesthetic too, all reds and golds spiraling around the target. Been running this in Diamond for about two weeks straight after it dropped and the ult heal zone looks gorgeous on the Rift.

Recall animation is where Riot put in extra work. Fiora summons this massive ox spirit creature, very Lunar New Year. Fits the 2021 Year of the Ox theme they were going for. No new voice lines though, voice stays default. Karen Strassman’s base VO still works fine here, the French aristocrat voice just clashes slightly with the mecha-beast aesthetic if you think about it too hard.

The Lunar Beast line and release context

Lunar Beast Fiora dropped February 4, 2021. Right in the middle of season 11, which was the mythic items chaos season. Jennifer Wuestling nailed the splash. The composition puts Fiora front and center with the ox mech looming behind her, and the red-gold palette screams Lunar New Year without being too on the nose.

The Lunar Beast skinline launched alongside Darius, Jarvan IV, Viego, and Aphelios. Decent roster. Fiora’s version leans harder into the armored warrior angle than some of the others. (Random aside: the Lunar Beast Viego splash is my desktop wallpaper to this day, that whole line had incredible art direction.)

7 chromas total for this one. Tanzanite is my go-to, the deep purple transforms the whole color story into something that reads almost like a different skin entirely. Obsidian goes full dark mode which pairs well if you’re the type who runs dark themed everything. Vitality has this neon green and red split that honestly looks wild in game, seen maybe two people ever use it in my ranked games all season. Legacy vault skin so you cant just grab it whenever you want.

Is Lunar Beast Fiora worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a solid Epic tier skin that does everything you’d expect for 1350 RP. New VFX on all abilities, clean recall, good splash. Not gonna lie, it sits in a weird spot in Fiora’s skin catalog though. You’ve got Project Fiora doing the tech fantasy better, Soaring Sword doing the elegant blade master thing, and Pool Party being Pool Party.

Where Lunar Beast carves out its niche is the color palette. That red-gold scheme is distinct from every other Fiora skin. If you main Fiora and want variety in your rotation, this earns its spot. Played maybe 40 games with it last February during a climbing session from D4 to D2, and the skin never got old visually. The Q trail especially stays crisp even in messy teamfights where you’re diving the backline.

Might be overthinking it but the skin feels slightly bulkier than base model, which threw off my spacing for the first few games. Minor thing. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get, just keep in mind it’s in the Legacy pool so you’re waiting on vault rotations or rolling it from chests. For Fiora one-tricks who already own the big hitters like Pulsefire or Project, Lunar Beast Fiora is a strong addition. For everyone else, probably not the first Fiora skin I’d recommend picking up.
