Fright Night Trundle

First time I saw Fright Night Trundle load in during a ranked game, I thought someone modded their client. The whole silhouette is wrong in the best way. Trundle already has that hulking troll energy, but this skin turns him into something out of a Tim Burton fever dream. Played maybe 30 games with it the first week it dropped in September 2022 and honestly not gonna lie, it changed how I felt about picking Trundle into certain comps.

What Fright Night Trundle actually brings

The VFX overhaul here is solid for an Epic tier skin. Q slam has this sickly green burst that reads way cleaner than base Trundle in teamfights. Huge deal. When you’re diving the backline and chomping down on the enemy ADC, you want your abilities to feel like they connect. The Q on this skin does that.

W is where it gets interesting. The contaminate zone shifts to this haunted ground effect, dark purples and greens seeping across the Rift floor. Been running this in Diamond jungle games and the zone actually helps me track my own area better during chaotic dragon fights. Could be wrong here but I think the visual boundary is slightly more defined than base.

E pillar looks like a twisted gravestone shooting up from the ground. Trapped their Jinx last night near blue buff with it and the animation just hits different when its styled like a horror prop. The R drain effect got the Fright Night treatment too, spooky tendrils connecting you to whoever you’re stat-checking. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but the skin doesnt need it.

The recall animation is the highlight for me. Trundle does this whole haunted puppet show thing. Clean execution. Worth watching at least once before you cancel it to get back to lane prio.

The Fright Night line and where Trundle fits

Fright Night released September 22, 2022. Late season 12 if I remember right. David Villegas and West Studio handled the artwork, and they captured something genuinely creepy without going full edgelord. The Fright Night skinline launched alongside a few other champions that patch and I think Trundle got one of the better treatments in the set.

The whole Fright Night concept leans into horror-carnival territory. Trundle fits naturally. He’s already a monster, so dressing him up in gothic horror just amplifies what’s there. Not every skinline works for every champion but this one clicks. (Random aside: the splash art has been my Discord avatar since release and nobody has guessed it’s Trundle.)

8 chromas total for this skin. Tanzanite is my go-to, the deep purple reads like a proper villain against the Rift’s greens. Pearl flips the whole mood to something ghostly and pale, kinda feels like a different skin entirely. Ruby exists for people who want the red-demon look but I think it clashes with the horror theme personally.

Is 1350 RP fair for Fright Night Trundle?

Real verdict: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX across all abilities, a solid recall, and the model redesign genuinely transforms Trundle’s vibe. For an Epic skin this checks the boxes. Not groundbreaking but consistent quality.

If you main Trundle or even just pull him out for jungle clear sessions when your team needs a frontline, this is worth picking up. Still in the shop, no vault nonsense. I’d rank it above Worldbreaker and Constable pretty easily. Dragonslayer gives it competition but Fright Night has the better theme execution in my opinion. Been maining Trundle with this skin since around pre-season 13 and I keep coming back to it over newer options.

Skip it if you’re not a Trundle player. Simple as that. But for one-tricks and jungle mains who rotate him into their ranked pool, this is the Trundle skin if you can only own one. Maybe wait for a sale around 2 AM some random Tuesday when you’re browsing the shop after a losing streak, but even at full price its hard to argue against it.
