Cosplayer Neeko

First game I played with Cosplayer Neeko, my support pinged me question marks in champ select because they thought I locked in the wrong skin. Honestly not gonna lie, the splash threw me off too at first. Neeko dressed up as a convention-goer with the full cosplay getup, props and all. It hit different than I expected for a 1350 RP Epic skin. The whole concept leans into Neeko’s shape-shifting identity and I think Riot nailed the angle here. She’s literally a cosplayer. The champion who copies other champions is now cosplaying them. Perfect fit.

What Cosplayer Neeko actually brings to the Rift

New VFX across the board. The Q blooming burst has this sparkly fan-convention energy to it, pops of color that read well in teamfights without being distracting. Could be wrong here but the W clone feels slightly more convincing with this skin. Something about the model silhouette during the passive disguise just blends cleaner. Might be placebo from 40+ games but I’m sticking with it.

The E root has a fun visual twist. Colorful ribbons or streamers wrapping targets. Looks clean in lane when you proc it through minions to catch the enemy ADC off guard. The ult VFX is the real showpiece though. Neeko jumps up with full cosplay energy and the landing zone has this convention-floor burst pattern. Been running this in Diamond and the recall animation is worth mentioning too. She poses with her cosplay props, very in-character. No new VO unfortunately, voice lines stay base.

One thing that surprised me playing this around 1 AM last Saturday. The auto attack particles have a subtle change that makes csing feel different. Not better or worse, just different. (Random aside: my duo partner who one-tricks Neeko mid refuses to use any other skin now.) The model itself is clean. Convention badge, styled outfit, the whole aesthetic commits to the theme without going overboard.

The Superfans line and release context

Cosplayer Neeko dropped October 9, 2024. Part of the Superfans skinline which is one of Riot’s more playful thematic drops. Pandart Studio handled the artwork and they captured the vibe perfectly. The splash has Neeko mid-pose at what looks like a gaming convention, surrounded by props and fellow fans.

The Superfans theme works naturally for a few champions but Neeko is the obvious choice. A chameleon who literally transforms into other people, walking around a convention in costume. Thats the whole joke and it lands. The skinline doesnt take itself seriously and neither should you.

8 chromas total. Amethyst is my go-to because the purple reads like a specific character reference that I cant quite place. Obsidian goes full dark mode which contrasts hard against the playful theme, kinda feels like the edgy cosplayer at every convention. Pearl keeps it light and clean. The rest fill standard color slots but those three stood out across maybe 15 games where I rotated through them all one weekend. Shop has it, permanent availability.

Is Cosplayer Neeko worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you main Neeko this is an easy buy. The thematic fit is stronger than most Epic skins manage. Been maining Neeko with this since it dropped in season 14 and it hasnt left my rotation. The VFX changes are noticeable without being pay-to-lose, the recall is fun, and the model quality holds up at every camera distance.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Not every Epic skin earns its price tag but Cosplayer Neeko does. Compare it to something like Shan Hai Scrolls Neeko which looks good but doesn’t have the same personality. This one has character. The whole cosplay angle gives Neeko mains something that actually reflects the champion’s identity instead of just slapping a generic theme on her.

Skip it if you dont play Neeko. Simple as that. But for anyone who’s been spamming her in ranked, poking in lane and looking for those E procs through the wave pre-6, this skin makes the grind feel fresh. Seen maybe 5 of these in my games all season which means you wont run into mirror skin situations often either. Top pick for Neeko mains who want something lighthearted over the darker options in her catalog.
