Mythmaker Skins

All 10 skins in the Mythmaker skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Mythmaker skin in League of Legends.

Mythmaker caught me off guard when it first dropped in early 2023. Lunar New Year skinlines have been hit or miss for years, but Riot went in a different direction here. Less traditional red-and-gold pageantry, more theatrical paper craft meets divine mythology. The whole line feels like someone took a Chinese opera stage, cranked the color saturation to max, and let champions perform on it. Been running Mythmaker skins in my ranked games since the first batch and honestly the aesthetic holds up better than most seasonal lines. Not every champion fits the fantasy equally, but when it works, it really works.

What Makes Mythmaker Stand Out on the Rift

The visual identity is strong. Paper-cut inspired VFX, lantern motifs, flowing ribbons on abilities. Every Mythmaker skin shares this theatrical quality where the particles look like they're made of folded paper catching light. Gold, red, teal, and deep purple dominate the palette. Kinda feels like Riot's art team studied traditional shadow puppetry and then translated that into League's engine.

Compared to the older Lunar Revel and Firecracker lines, Mythmaker takes itself more seriously. Firecracker skins were always fun and loud. Explosions, confetti, fireworks on every ability. Mythmaker goes for elegance instead. The VFX have weight to them. When Irelia dashes through a teamfight with Mythmaker, her blades leave these trailing paper ribbons that actually look clean in chaotic 5v5s. That matters more than people think.

Not gonna lie, the splash arts across the whole line are some of the most cohesive Riot has put out. Every champion posed on what looks like a mythological stage, divine lighting, dramatic angles. The shared background elements tie them together without making them look copy-pasted. Compare that to something like the Arcana line where some splashes feel disconnected from each other. Mythmaker keeps it tight.

Color-wise theres a deliberate split. The base skins lean into warm golds and reds while the Prestige variants push into cooler territory. Prestige Mythmaker Sivir goes pale white and gold, almost porcelain looking. It creates visual variety within the line without breaking the theme. Smart design choice.

Best Mythmaker Skins Worth Locking In

Mythmaker Irelia is the crown jewel. Full stop. Legendary tier, 1820 RP, and it earns every point. New VO, completely reworked animations, her blades become these ornate paper-craft weapons that fold and unfold during ability casts. The Q reset animation in particular is chef's kiss. Been spamming this in Diamond on Irelia specifically and the auto-attack flow feels different from base. Not gameplay different, just satisfying to watch. Her recall has this whole theatrical dance sequence that I never skip.

Mythmaker Jhin is the other Legendary and might be even better depending on who you ask. (Random aside: my duo partner is a Jhin one-trick and he literally refuses to use anything else now.) The fourth shot has this dramatic paper explosion effect. His W snare leaves a trail of golden ribbons across the lane. And the curtain call ult? Each shot fires through what looks like a theatrical stage curtain. For a champion whose entire identity is performance art, the Mythmaker theme is almost too perfect a fit.

Could be wrong here but I think Mythmaker Galio is the most underrated Epic in the line. 1350 RP, standard Epic pricing, but his ult landing with that massive paper lantern explosion effect looks way above its price point. Seen maybe 5 of these in my games all season which is a shame because the taunt animation with the folding fan is genuinely cool. Galio mains sleeping on this one.

Mythmaker Zyra deserves a mention too. Her plants become these paper flower constructs and the ultimate blooms into this elaborate origami garden. In teamfights where Zyra drops everything, the visual effect is honestly one of the prettiest things in League. Played against one last Thursday in a late-game dragon fight and even while dying I was like "okay that looked incredible."

Mythmaker Garen is solid but safe. Spin animation gets the paper ribbon treatment, his ult sword descends with golden theatrical flair. Nothing wrong with it. Just doesnt push boundaries the way Irelia or Jhin do. Standard Epic execution, 1350 RP, fair price for what you get.

The Champion Roster and Who Actually Fits

Ten skins across nine champions. That's a good size for a skinline that's only been around since 2023. Not bloated, not too thin. The roster leans toward melee fighters and mages which makes sense for the mythological warrior aesthetic.

Irelia is the obvious perfect fit. Champion who dances with blades, placed in a theatrical mythology setting. It writes itself. Jhin is equally natural. His whole character is about performance and dramatic flair. Putting him in Mythmaker is like giving a stage actor an actual stage. No notes on either pick.

Jarvan IV works thematically. The prince-turned-warrior archetype maps cleanly onto Chinese mythology. His flag and drag combo gets the paper-craft treatment and the Cataclysm ult wall becomes this circular stage barrier. Might be overthinking it but I think Jarvan fits the "divine warrior" angle better than Garen does, even though Garen's the more popular champion.

Nami is an interesting addition from the 2025 batch. Water magic meets paper aesthetics could have been awkward but they pulled it off. Her wave feels like flowing silk ribbons. Cassiopeia getting a Prestige Mythmaker variant was unexpected. Snake mythology has deep roots in Chinese folklore though so it tracks if you think about it.

Sivir rounds out the carry options. Not the most thematic fit honestly but the Prestige version elevates it. Who should join next? Real talk though, Wukong feels like the most obvious omission from a Chinese mythology line. Xin Zhao too. And Lee Sin would be perfect for the martial arts theatrical angle. (Sidebar: if they ever add Mythmaker Yasuo I'm uninstalling. Let one skinline exist without him.)

Tier Breakdown and What You're Actually Paying

The line splits pretty evenly. Six Epics at 1350 RP form the backbone. Two Legendaries at 1820 RP carry the prestige factor. Two Mythic-tier Prestige skins for collectors who want the rare versions. No Standard or budget skins in the line, which tells you Riot positioned Mythmaker as a premium release from day one.

The Legendaries carry the line. Hard to argue otherwise. Mythmaker Irelia and Mythmaker Jhin both justify the 1820 RP price with full VO, new animations, and VFX that actually change the feel of playing those champions. The Epics are consistent but none of them individually stand above the usual 1350 RP tier. They're good. Not great. Good.

Price range runs 1350 to 1820 RP for purchasable skins. The Prestige variants are crafting-only through the event systems so no direct RP cost. If you're a collector trying to grab the whole line, you're looking at around 10,000 RP for the shop-available skins. Not cheap but not the worst. The two Legendaries eat most of that budget.

Fair warning, the Epics in this line compete with a LOT of other 1350 RP options on each champion. Garen alone has like fifteen skins. But for the Mythmaker aesthetic specifically? No substitutes. If you want the paper-craft theatrical look, this is the only line that delivers it. Season 13 and 14 releases, still holding up in season 15 games. Been daily driving Mythmaker Galio for about six months now and the novelty hasnt worn off yet which is more than I can say for most Epic skins.

Frequently Asked Questions About Mythmaker Skins

How many Mythmaker skins are there?

There's 10 Mythmaker skins total right now. That includes two Prestige variants for Sivir and Cassiopeia. Line started in January 2023 and got its latest additions in 2025. Decent size for a skinline that's only two years old. Could see Riot expanding it again next Lunar New Year cycle but nothing confirmed.

What is the best Mythmaker skin?

Mythmaker Irelia and Mythmaker Jhin are both Legendaries and they're the clear top two. If I had to pick one, Irelia edges it out because the blade animations are genuinely different from any other Irelia skin. Jhin's a close second though. For Epics, Galio punches above his weight class at 1350 RP. Personal pick, not objective truth.

Which champions have Mythmaker skins?

Nine champions in the line: Irelia, Jhin, Galio, Sivir, Garen, Zyra, Jarvan IV, Nami, and Cassiopeia. Sivir and Cassiopeia also have Prestige versions. Skews toward melee fighters and mages. No ADCs besides Sivir and Jhin if you count him, no pure tanks besides Galio.

Does Mythmaker have Legendary skins?

Two Legendaries. Mythmaker Irelia and Mythmaker Jhin, both 1820 RP. Full package on each: new voice lines, unique animations, reworked ability VFX. Both are top-tier purchases for their respective champion mains. Been running the Irelia one in ranked since it dropped and the quality holds up patch after patch.

When did the Mythmaker skinline release?

First batch dropped January 2023 alongside the Lunar New Year event. Irelia, Galio, Sivir, and Garen were the originals I think. Second wave came later with Zyra, Jhin, and the others through 2024 and into 2025. Riot's been treating it as a recurring Lunar event line rather than a one-and-done release.

Are Mythmaker skins worth buying?

The Legendaries are absolutely worth it for Irelia and Jhin mains. No question. The Epics are solid but not must-buys unless you specifically love the paper-craft aesthetic. Galio and Zyra are the standout Epics. Garen and Jarvan are fine but those champions have plenty of good alternatives already. Buy what fits your champion pool.

Do Mythmaker skins have chromas?

Most of the Epic Mythmaker skins have chromas available. The Legendary skins typically get fewer or none depending on the release. Check each individual skin page for exact chroma counts and color options. Some of the chromas shift the palette pretty dramatically from the base gold-and-red scheme which can be nice if you want variety.

Will Riot make more Mythmaker skins?

Not confirmed but likely. Riot's expanded the line every year since 2023 and it ties into the annual Lunar New Year event cycle. Could be wrong but I'd bet on at least 2-3 more champions getting Mythmaker skins in early 2026. Wukong and Xin Zhao feel like obvious candidates. Maybe Lee Sin too if Riot's paying attention to what the community wants.
