Anima Squad Skins

All 17 skins in the Anima Squad skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Anima Squad skin in League of Legends.

Anima Squad landed in 2022 and I remember thinking Riot finally cracked the code on a mecha-meets-magical-girl aesthetic that doesnt look ridiculous. The whole line runs on this neon-drenched futuristic military vibe where every champion gets an animal codename and matching battle armor. 17 skins deep now across two event waves. Not gonna lie, the first batch with Miss Fortune and Jinx had me locking in champions I barely play just to flex the VFX in ranked. The color palette alone - hot pinks, electric blues, clean whites - makes every other skinline on the Rift look muted by comparison.

What Makes Anima Squad Stand Out on the Rift

The visual signature is hard to miss. Every Anima Squad skin shares this militarized anime aesthetic where champions wear sleek combat suits with animal-themed helmets and armor plating. Think Power Rangers crossed with a gacha game's SSR tier. The shared elements tie it together: holographic wings on recalls, particle effects that burst into stylized animal silhouettes, and splash arts that look like frames from a high-budget animated series.

Color palette does the heavy lifting here. Riot locked into a specific range of hot pink, pearl white, and electric cyan that runs through every skin in the line. Kinda feels like they designed one master palette and just tuned the saturation per champion. Works beautifully in-game because you can spot an Anima Squad skin from across the map during a teamfight. The readability is surprisingly good for how flashy everything is.

Compared to something like Star Guardian, Anima Squad leans harder into the military angle. Star Guardian is magical girl fantasy. Anima Squad is tactical ops with a cute aesthetic layered on top. The recall animations sell it - most champions salute or report to some kind of holographic command screen. Been playing since the first wave dropped in March 2022 and the theming has stayed consistent even through the second batch in 2024.

(Random aside: the Anima Squad event page with the base-building minigame was one of Riot's better event concepts. Miss it honestly.)

Splash art quality across the line sits at an A tier minimum. Every single splash looks like it could be a poster. The compositions lean dynamic - action poses, explosions in the background, squad formations. Not a single boring standing-still portrait in the bunch. Could be wrong here but I think Anima Squad has the most consistently high splash art quality of any skinline released after 2020.

Best Anima Squad Skins Worth Your RP

Battle Bunny Miss Fortune. Full stop. This Legendary carries the entire skinline on its back. New VO, unique animations on every ability, the Q bounce particles trail pink energy that looks clean in lane. Spammed this in Diamond for two months straight after release and the auto-attack animation alone feels smoother than base MF. The way her ult fans out with those holographic bullets is the best Bullet Time has ever looked. 1820 RP and it earns every point.

Battle Dove Seraphine takes the second Legendary slot and honestly its a strong contender for best Seraphine skin period. The dove wings that unfold during her ult create this massive visual that dominates teamfights. Her passive notes turn into these glowing feathers. Real talk though, the recall where she conducts a holographic orchestra hits different at 2 AM after a five-game win streak. Voice lines reference the squad directly which adds that immersion layer most Epics cant touch.

Prestige Battle Cat Jinx deserves a mention. Took this into ranked for maybe 30 games last season and the white-gold color shift from base Battle Cat makes her rockets pop harder against the Rift's green. Mythic tier pricing puts it out of reach for most players but if you had the Mythic Essence during the event window, this was the move.

Battle Bat Vayne quietly sits as one of the best Epic skins in the line. 1350 RP, solid VFX on her Q tumble and the condemn bolt turns into this pink energy spike. Not sure if it's just me but the auto-attack cadence feels crisper with this skin equipped. Might be placebo. Probably is. Still lock it in every game.

Battle Bunny Prime Riven rounds out my top five. The sword transforms during her ult and the wind slash VFX got that clean pink energy trail. Riven one-tricks in my games seem to gravitate toward this or Dawnbringer, and honestly Anima Squad gives Dawnbringer a real fight for the top spot. 1350 RP well spent for mains.

The Anima Squad Champion Roster

17 skins across 13 champions. Decent roster for a skinline that's only been around since 2022. Miss Fortune gets the most attention with both the base Legendary and the Admiral Mythic variant. Two skins for one champion in the same line feels like favoritism but MF carries the marketing so I get it.

Jinx fits the theme perfectly. Chaotic energy, big weapons, the cat motif works with her personality. Leona as Battle Lion makes thematic sense for a frontline engage tank wearing heavy armor. The lion aesthetic matches her shield-forward playstyle. Been maining Leona in support for three seasons and the Anima Squad version is my go-to skin since it dropped.

Some picks feel more forced. Yuumi as Cyber Cat is on-the-nose obvious. Cat champion gets cat-themed skin in the animal squad line. Not exactly creative. Yasuo as Battle Wolf works visually but every skinline has a Yasuo at this point so it reads as a sales decision more than a thematic one. Fair warning, I say this as someone who played maybe 40 games with Battle Wolf Yasuo and still thinks it looks great in-game regardless of the reasoning behind the pick.

The 2024 additions brought Briar, Illaoi, Xayah, Sylas, and Aurora into the squad. Illaoi as Battle Bear is inspired. Big brawler champion, bear theme, the tentacles become these mechanical bear claws. Xayah as Battle Bat rounds out the flying animal motifs nicely. Could be coping but I think Aurora fits better than half the original roster despite being a newer champion.

Who should join next? Been thinking about this since last Tuesday. Warwick as some kind of Battle Hound feels too obvious to not happen. Vi in a combat suit with her gauntlets redesigned into animal-mech fists. Riot if you're reading this make it happen.

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

The math on Anima Squad skews Epic heavy. 11 out of 17 skins sit at Epic tier, 1350 RP each. Two Legendaries at 1820 RP. Four Mythics that required event currency or Mythic Essence. No Standard or budget options in the line at all.

Epics do the heavy lifting here and thats not a bad thing. The 1350 RP skins in this line punch above their weight class. New VFX on every ability, unique recall animations, the shared color palette keeps everything cohesive. Most skinlines have a couple weak Epics that feel like filler. Anima Squad's worst Epic is still a solid B+ tier skin.

The two Legendaries justify the 1820 RP price tag. Battle Bunny Miss Fortune and Battle Dove Seraphine both deliver new VO, unique animations, and the kind of polish that makes you forget what the base champion looks like. If you main either champion, these are the skins. Simple as that.

Mythic tier adds the prestige factor. Admiral Battle Bunny Miss Fortune, Prestige Battle Lion Leona, Prestige Battle Cat Jinx, and Prestige Cyber Cat Yuumi all require either event grinding or Mythic Essence hoarding. The gold-white color shifts on Prestige variants look premium but whether they're worth the grind over base versions is debatable. Played against a Prestige Leona in ranked last week and honestly the visual difference from the base skin is subtle at combat distance. Up close in the loading screen though. Chef's kiss.

Frequently Asked Questions About Anima Squad

How many Anima Squad skins are there?

17 Anima Squad skins total as of 2024. The line launched in 2022 with the first wave and got a second batch in 2024 that added Briar, Illaoi, Xayah, Sylas, and Aurora. Riot seems to like this skinline so more are probably coming. Wouldn't be surprised to see a third wave sometime in 2025 honestly.

What is the best Anima Squad skin?

Battle Bunny Miss Fortune. Not even close. The Legendary treatment gives her new VO, completely reworked ability VFX, and the smoothest auto-attack animation MF has ever had. Spammed it for two months in ranked and never switched back. Battle Dove Seraphine takes second place if you main Sera instead.

Which champions have Anima Squad skins?

13 champions total: Miss Fortune, Vayne, Leona, Riven, Seraphine, Yasuo, Jinx, and more from the first wave. Second wave in 2024 added Briar, Illaoi, Xayah, Sylas, and Aurora. Miss Fortune has two variants so she gets the most love from the line. Yuumi also snuck in there with Cyber Cat.

Does Anima Squad have Legendary skins?

Two Legendaries at 1820 RP each. Battle Bunny Miss Fortune and Battle Dove Seraphine. Both come with new voice lines, unique animations, and reworked VFX on every ability. They carry the skinline in terms of quality. If you're only buying one Anima Squad skin make it one of these two.

When did the Anima Squad skinline release?

First wave dropped March 2022 with the Anima Squad event. That included Miss Fortune, Vayne, Leona, Riven, Seraphine, Yasuo, and Jinx. Second wave came in 2024 adding five more champions. The line is relatively new compared to something like Star Guardian which has been running since 2015.

Are Anima Squad skins worth buying?

The Epics at 1350 RP punch above their weight. Solid VFX, clean color palette, good recall animations. Worth it if you main any champion in the roster. The Legendaries are must-buys for MF and Seraphine mains. Only skip if you genuinely dont play any of the 13 champions in the line.

Do Anima Squad skins have chromas?

Most of the Epic tier skins have chroma sets available. The Legendaries and Mythic/Prestige variants typically dont get chromas since they already have unique color treatments. If you grab an Epic like Battle Bat Vayne or Battle Wolf Yasuo, check the chroma bundles because some of the alt colors look better than base.

Will Riot make more Anima Squad skins?

Maybe just my experience but Anima Squad sells well based on how often I see these skins in my ranked games. Two waves already in 2022 and 2024 suggests Riot views it as a recurring event line. Could easily see a third batch. Champions like Warwick, Vi, or Renata Glasc would fit the military animal theme perfectly.
