Irelia

Irelia Skins

15 skins available

Irelia's skin catalog is one of those collections that started rough and ended up genuinely stacked. Been maining her on and off since season 4, and the difference between her early skins and the recent ones is night and day. Fifteen skins total. Some of them feel like Riot forgot she existed, and others feel like the art team poured everything into her. Not gonna lie, she's one of the champions where your skin choice actually matters because the blade animations are so central to how she feels in game. If you're an Irelia one-trick or even just someone who locks her in for ranked occasionally, there's a lot to unpack here.

How Irelia's Skin Collection Evolved Over 15 Years

Irelia's first skins dropped back in 2010. Nightblade and Aviator were the originals, and honestly they show their age. Aviator Irelia is the oldest in the lineup and it looks like it. Basic recolor territory. The early Standard tier skins - Nightblade, Aviator, Infiltrator - they're from an era where Riot wasnt investing heavily in skin quality for every champion. Just texture swaps and maybe a different outfit color.

Things started shifting around 2015 with Order of the Lotus Irelia. Still Epic tier but you could feel Riot actually trying with the thematic. Then the rework happened in 2018 and everything changed. Post-rework Irelia got the visual update that made her blades the star of the show, and every skin after that benefited massively.

The tier breakdown tells the story pretty well. Five Standards from the old days, six Epics that range from decent to excellent, two Mythic Prestige variants, and two Legendaries that both slap. Could be wrong here but I think Irelia might have one of the better Legendary-to-total-skin ratios in the game. Two out of fifteen is solid. The collection spans from 2010 all the way to 2025 with Spirit Blossom Irelia being the newest addition.

Played maybe 400 games on her across different skins and the quality curve is steep. Everything pre-rework feels like a different champion. Everything post-2018 feels premium even at Epic pricing. That's just how it goes with champions who got major visual updates midway through their skin history.

Best Skins for Irelia

Mythmaker Irelia. Full stop. This Legendary skin is the one I keep coming back to in my Diamond games and theres a reason for that. The Q reset animations are crisp, the blade dance on her passive stacks looks incredible, and the recall animation with the dragon motif ties the whole thing together. 1820 RP and it earns every point. The W channel has this golden energy buildup that reads so clean in teamfights. When you're diving the backline and resetting Q through a minion wave into their ADC, every blade hit has this satisfying weight to it. (Random aside: I've gotten more compliments on this skin in post-game lobby than any other skin I own across all champions.)

Spirit Blossom Irelia dropped in 2025 and immediately became the other top contender. Also Legendary at 1820 RP. The cherry blossom petal effects on her blades are gorgeous. Her E stun markers leave these flower patterns on the ground that actually help with aiming in lane. Might be overthinking it but I swear the visual clarity on this skin's abilities is better than base. The ult blade wall has petals floating through it. Been spamming this in ranked since it came out and the novelty hasnt worn off yet.

Divine Sword Irelia sits comfortably at third. Epic tier, 1350 RP, and it punches way above. Part of the Immortal Journey skinline and the wuxia aesthetic fits Irelia's blade dancer fantasy perfectly. The Q sound effect has this metallic ring that base Irelia doesn't have. Her passive stacks glow with jade energy. For the price difference between this and the two Legendaries, Divine Sword is the value king.

Prestige PROJECT: Irelia deserves a mention. Mythic tier, special pricing, and the white-gold color scheme over the PROJECT cyberpunk base is clean. Had it in rotation for most of season 12. The original Prestige from 2019 and the 2022 re-release are slightly different but both look good. Not sure if it's just me but the 2022 version has slightly better particle contrast on Summoner's Rift.

PROJECT: Irelia at Epic tier rounds out the top five. Cyberpunk Irelia with holographic blades. The skinline fits her kit surprisingly well because the blade animations translate perfectly into a tech aesthetic. Good skin. Not the best she has but definitely not one to skip if you're collecting.

Skinlines and Themes That Fit Irelia

Irelia appears across a bunch of skinlines and some fit better than others. Immortal Journey with Divine Sword is probably the most natural thematic match. She's literally a blade dancer in lore, and the wuxia martial arts fantasy of Immortal Journey was made for champions like her. The skin practically designed itself.

PROJECT is interesting because on paper, cyberpunk doesn't scream "Ionian blade dancer." But the execution works. The holographic blades, the tech visor, the neon particles. Riot found the overlap between high-tech and high-skill blade control and it clicks. Plus she got a Prestige out of it so clearly it resonated with players too.

Spirit Blossom joining the roster in 2025 was a long time coming. Kinda feels like Irelia should have been in the original Spirit Blossom event back in 2020. The Ionian spiritual themes, the graceful movement patterns, the connection to nature and tradition. Perfect fit. Better late than never I guess.

Winter Wonder, Order of the Lotus, and the Worlds 2018 iG skin fill out the middle. iG Irelia is special because it's a Worlds championship skin - TheShy's Irelia from that insane 2018 Worlds run. If you watched that tournament live (stayed up until 3 AM for finals), the skin has emotional weight beyond just how it looks. Order of the Lotus has that elegant East Asian aesthetic that works for her. Winter Wonder is cute but feels more like a seasonal novelty than a serious skin pick for ranked.

The Legacy and Day Job skinlines cover the older stuff. Aviator is literally "Irelia in a pilot outfit." Simple times. Infiltrator has that military ops vibe. They're fine for what they are but nobody's picking these over Divine Sword or Mythmaker unless they're going for the vintage flex.

Budget vs Premium: Where to Spend on Irelia

Real talk though. If you're climbing ranked and want one good Irelia skin without breaking the bank, Divine Sword at 1350 RP is the answer. No contest. The ability VFX are distinct, the sound design is satisfying, and the Immortal Journey theme fits her kit like it was custom-built. Best value skin she has.

On the Standard side, Frostblade Irelia at 520 RP used to be her most popular skin by a mile before the rework. Post-rework it still looks decent. The ice effects on her blades give a different visual read than base. For 520 RP you're getting more than you'd expect. Nightblade at the same price point is darker and edgier if that's your thing.

If money isn't the issue and you want the absolute best Irelia experience, Mythmaker Legendary at 1820 RP is where I'd point you. New voice lines, new animations, completely different feel from base. Spirit Blossom Legendary matches it in quality but the aesthetic preference between golden dragon energy and cherry blossom petals is personal taste. Played both extensively last season and they're roughly equal in quality. Just different vibes.

The Prestige skins are harder to recommend because you cant just buy them normally. If you have the Mythic Essence or got lucky with rerolls, great. But don't chase them over the two Legendaries. The Legendaries are better skins overall and actually purchasable. Fair warning - I've seen people dump way too much into chests trying to roll Prestige skins when the shop Legendaries are right there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Irelia have?

Fifteen skins total as of 2025. That includes five Standards from the early days, six Epics, two Mythic Prestige variants, and two Legendaries. Solid collection for a champion who's been around since 2010. The quality ramp after her 2018 rework is massive though - pre-rework skins feel like a different game entirely.

What is the best Irelia skin?

Mythmaker Irelia for me. Legendary tier, 1820 RP, and the blade animations are the best she's ever had. Spirit Blossom Irelia is a close second and some mains prefer the aesthetic. Both are Legendaries and both deliver. Comes down to whether you want golden dragons or cherry blossoms on your Q resets.

What is the cheapest Irelia skin?

Nightblade Irelia and Frostblade Irelia both sit at 520 RP. Frostblade is the better pick between them honestly. The ice blade effects give her a distinct look on the Rift and it punches above its price. Aviator is also cheap but looks dated. For budget picks, Frostblade is the move.

Does Irelia have a Legendary skin?

Two Legendaries actually. Mythmaker Irelia and Spirit Blossom Irelia, both at 1820 RP. Mythmaker dropped in 2023 and Spirit Blossom in 2025. Both have new voice lines, unique animations, and completely overhauled VFX. Having two strong Legendaries puts her ahead of most champions in the roster.

What skinlines is Irelia in?

She's spread across a bunch. PROJECT, Immortal Journey, Spirit Blossom, Winter Wonder, Order of the Lotus, World Champions 2018, and some older lines like Legacy and Day Job. Immortal Journey and Spirit Blossom fit her best thematically. The iG Worlds skin is cool if you remember that 2018 tournament run.

Does Irelia have chromas?

Several of her Epic and Legendary skins have chroma options. Divine Sword, PROJECT, Sentinel, and others offer chroma packs. If you're picking up Divine Sword Irelia I'd check the chromas because some of the color variants look better than the base version. Obsidian on Divine Sword specifically goes hard.

When was Irelia's last skin released?

Spirit Blossom Irelia in 2025. Legendary tier at 1820 RP. Been out for a bit now and the reception from Irelia mains has been really positive from what I've seen. Cherry blossom blade effects, new VO, the whole package. Riot clearly put effort into making it feel distinct from Mythmaker.

Is Irelia worth buying skins for?

Absolutely, if you play her regularly. She's a champion where skin quality directly impacts how satisfying she feels. The blade animations, the Q reset visuals, the passive stack indicators - good skins make all of that better. Even just Divine Sword at 1350 RP transforms the experience. Skip the pre-rework skins unless you want them for collection purposes.
