SKT T1 Zyra

First time I saw SKT T1 Zyra in a loading screen was back in season 5, maybe season 6. Had to look it up because I genuinely forgot this skin existed for a while. Not gonna lie, the World Champions skins from that era hit different compared to what Riot puts out now for Worlds winners. Simpler times.

What actually changes on SKT T1 Zyra

So this is a 750 RP Standard tier skin. Manage your expectations. Zyra gets the SKT T1 team jacket and red-black color scheme across her model. The plants shift color to match the team branding. Thats about it for the visual overhaul. No new particles on Q, no updated W seeds, E stays the same root animation, and R is identical to base.

Voice lines stay base. No new recall animation either. For a 750 RP skin from 2014 this is pretty standard honestly. The model swap itself is clean though. Zyra in the team uniform with the red accents reads well in lane, especially against the green of Summoner’s Rift. Could be wrong here but I think the plant colors are slightly more visible than base Zyra’s, which lowkey helps in teamfights when you need to track your garden.

Been running this in Diamond a handful of times when I get Zyra support in ranked. The skin doesnt change how abilities feel at all. No new audio cues on Q proc or anything like that. Simple texture swap, simple price point. Playing this skin, the team jacket model is the entire selling point.

The 2013 World Champions line and release context

SKT T1 Zyra dropped May 4, 2014, celebrating SK Telecom T1’s first Worlds championship run in 2013. Bo Lu handled the splash art. The World Champions: 2013 skinline includes the full roster from that legendary squad. Faker’s Zed, Impact’s Jax, Bengi’s Lee Sin, the whole crew.

Real talk though, these early Worlds skins were modest. Riot hadn’t figured out the premium esports skin formula yet. Compare SKT T1 Zyra to something like the DRX line from 2022 and its night and day. But there’s a charm to the simplicity. (Random sidebar: my support duo actually has this skin and refuses to use anything else on Zyra because “it’s vintage” – his words not mine.)

Legacy vault skin. You cant just grab it from the shop whenever. Gotta wait for vault openings or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe two of these in my games all season, probably less. 750 RP when it does come around, which is dirt cheap by today’s standards.

Should you care about SKT T1 Zyra?

Straight talk: if you’re a Zyra main looking for the best bang for your RP, this isnt it. Coven Zyra and Dragon Sorceress Zyra both offer way more in terms of VFX and thematic overhaul. SKT T1 Zyra is a collector’s piece. An esports history artifact from back when Faker was just starting to terrorize mid lane.

750 RP feels fair for what you get. A model swap with team branding, nothing more nothing less. Worth it if you’re building out a full Zyra collection or you specifically care about the 2013 Worlds legacy. Last Tuesday I was looking through my skin collection and realized I own like four Zyra skins and this one gets the least playtime by far. Skip it unless the esports nostalgia factor matters to you or you one-trick Zyra and need every option in the rotation. For everyone else, Coven exists.
