First time I saw Storm Dragon Lee Sin in a loading screen I thought it was a completely different champion. Not even exaggerating. The silhouette, the posture, the whole energy reads like some celestial monk who accidentally wandered into the Rift from a different game entirely. Locked it in that same night and honestly havent looked back since.

What the Legendary treatment actually does here

So this is a full Legendary at 1820 RP and it earns the price tag. Every single ability got reworked visually. Q fires this crackling storm dragon projectile that spirals forward, and the second cast has Lee Sin riding lightning into whoever was unlucky enough to get tagged. Looks clean. Feels clean. The hitbox reads the same but somehow the animation feels faster, might just be placebo from the particles being brighter.

W shield pops with these swirling cloud VFX around you and your target. Subtle but noticeable. E is where it gets wild though. The slam sends out this expanding ring of storm energy across the ground. In a teamfight with 3-4 people clumped it looks insane. Been spamming this in Diamond for like six seasons now and the E visual alone makes it worth running over God Fist in certain comps.

R though. The ult. Lee Sin transforms into a full dragon for the kick animation. First time I landed a five-man insec with this skin my duo literally screamed on Discord. Around 1 AM on a Wednesday, we were both way too deep into a ranked grind. The dragon form kick sends this massive storm trail behind the target. Could be wrong here but I think the knockback VFX on secondary targets is also unique to this skin.

New voice lines from Feodor Chin. The VO carries weight here, very composed, almost meditative. Lee Sin quotes feel less like a blind monk and more like an ancient dragon spirit borrowing a human body. Which is basically the fantasy. The recall has him meditating as storm clouds gather and a dragon materializes around him. One of the better recall animations in the game honestly.

The Dragonmancers skinline and release context

Storm Dragon Lee Sin dropped October 1, 2020. Middle of season 10. Pan Chengwei nailed the splash, the composition with the dragon coiling behind Lee Sin while he holds that focused stance is one of my phone wallpapers (random aside: been rotating between this and the Obsidian chroma splash for two years now).

The Dragonmancers line is one of Riot’s stronger thematic sets. Lee Sin fits it naturally because of the martial arts fantasy already baked into his kit. Storm Dragon specifically leans into the “ascended warrior channeling draconic power” angle, which reads way better than just slapping dragon armor on a champion and calling it a day.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to for ranked, the dark palette reads cleanly against every map skin and doesnt give away your position as hard in river fights. Emberclaw hits different though if you want that dark red demonic vibe, almost makes the skin feel like a different tier entirely. The Mythic Chroma with the gold and red is solid but I’ve seen maybe 4 of those in my games all season. Pearl exists for the clean white aesthetic but kinda feels like it washes out some of the storm VFX detail.

How it stacks against other Lee Sin skins

Real talk though. Lee Sin has one of the deepest skin pools in the game. God Fist was the Legendary benchmark for years. Muay Thai is still the tryhard pick because of the smooth auto animations. Not gonna lie, Storm Dragon competes with both and wins in pure spectacle.

God Fist feels dated now. The VFX are from 2017 and it shows. Storm Dragon’s particles are sharper, more layered, and the dragon transformation on R is something God Fist simply doesnt have. Muay Thai stays relevant because competitive players swear by the animation clarity, but if you’re not optimizing for pro play there’s no reason to pick it over this.

Took this into ranked for probably 300 games across season 11 and 12. The skin just hits different in the jungle specifically. Dragon form kick into a gank is peak Lee Sin fantasy. Pre-6 your ganks look standard but the Q particle being brighter actually helps teammates react to your engage faster. Not sure if it’s just me but I win more skirmishes running this skin than base. Placebo is real.

Should you buy Storm Dragon Lee Sin?

Verdict time. 1820 RP well spent for mains. Full stop. If you play Lee Sin even semi-regularly in jungle or mid, this is the skin. New model, new VFX on every ability, new voice lines, new recall, dragon transformation on ult. That’s the full Legendary package and Riot delivered.

Still in the shop. No vault rotation nonsense, no loot exclusive garbage. Just buy it. If you’re climbing through Diamond or Plat and you one-trick Lee Sin, this skin makes every insec feel like a highlight clip. The only argument against it is if you genuinely prefer Muay Thai’s cleaner animations for competitive clarity, which is valid but niche.

Best Lee Sin skin full stop. Season 9 I think or maybe 10 when God Fist was still king, but Storm Dragon dethroned it and nothing since has come close. S-tier Legendary, top pick for Lee Sin mains, and the Obsidian chroma alone justifies the extra chroma bundle price. Skip everything else in his catalog if you can only own one.
