First time I saw Spirit Blossom Syndra load into my game, I thought it was a Legendary. Not gonna lie, the splash alone had me convinced Riot went harder than usual on this one. The petal VFX on her spheres, the way the recall ties into the whole Spirit Blossom aesthetic. Played maybe 30 games with it that first week in Diamond and the skin just felt right on her kit.

How Spirit Blossom changes Syndra’s kit

The spheres are the big one. Instead of the default dark purple orbs, you get these soft glowing spirit blossoms that float around Syndra. Her Q drops a petal-infused sphere that reads really clean against the Rift, especially on darker terrain near dragon pit. The W pickup and toss has this trailing blossom effect that I think looks better than most of her other Epic skins.

E stun gets a wide spread of petals pushing outward. Looks gorgeous in teamfights when you’re peeling for your ADC and the whole lane lights up pink. Her ult sends all the spheres flying with sakura trails, and honestly thats where the skin peaks. Six or seven spheres slamming into someone with flower particles everywhere. Clean stuff.

New recall animation fits the Spirit Blossom theme perfectly. Syndra meditates with blossoms swirling around her in this calming pattern. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected at this price point. Could be wrong here but I feel like a voice filter would have pushed this into must-buy territory for Syndra mains.

(Random aside: my duo partner who’s a Syndra one-trick refuses to use anything else since this dropped.)

The Spirit Blossom line and release context

Spirit Blossom Syndra released October 6, 2022. Late into season 12, right around Worlds time. Pan Chengwei nailed the splash, the composition with Syndra floating among the spirit realm blossoms hits the fantasy hard.

The Spirit Blossom skinline is one of Riot’s strongest. Been running since 2020 and every batch adds something solid. Syndra fits naturally into the ethereal spirit aesthetic, way more than some champions they’ve forced into the line. The mage fantasy and the spiritual theme overlap well here.

9 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark petals against the spirit effects create this contrast that reads perfectly in lane. Night Blossom is the special one, gives you a blue-black color shift that feels almost like a separate skin. Pearl looks clean too if you want the pure white celestial vibe, but I keep coming back to Obsidian after trying them all over maybe two weeks of ranked last October.

1350 RP. Shop has it, permanent availability. Standard Epic pricing and I think it earns the tag. Not every 1350 skin justifies itself but Spirit Blossom Syndra packs in enough VFX work to feel complete.

Worth locking in for 1350 RP?

Real verdict: Spirit Blossom Syndra sits in the top three for Syndra skins. Been maining Syndra with this equipped since season 13 started and I still dont get tired of the VFX. The petal particles on Q and ult specifically make ability tracking feel smoother in chaotic teamfights where you’re trying to hit a backline dive on their carry.

Might be overthinking it but I feel like the sphere visibility is actually better than base Syndra. Last Tuesday around 2 AM I landed a five-sphere ult in a late-game comp where we had no engage, and the kill confirm visual feedback from all those blossoms popping was satisfying in a way default Syndra never hits.

If you already own Star Guardian Syndra or Withered Rose, this is still different enough to justify. Spirit Blossom leans softer and more atmospheric where those two go flashy. Skip it if you’re not a Syndra player, there’s no reason to grab this for the occasional mid fill. But for mains and one-tricks? 1350 RP well spent. Top pick for Syndra mains who want something elegant without paying Legendary prices. The skin does exactly what an Epic should do: fresh model, strong VFX, solid recall, no filler.
