First time I saw Inkshadow Pyke load in during a ranked game last March, I thought someone was running a custom skin. The ink-wash aesthetic on a support assassin just hits different. Been running this as my main Pyke skin since it dropped and honestly not gonna lie, it might be the cleanest Epic tier skin in his entire catalog.

The ink treatment on Pyke’s kit

So the whole Inkshadow concept takes traditional East Asian brush painting and layers it over Pyke’s base kit. The model swap is where most of the budget went. Pyke’s cloak and dagger get this flowing calligraphy-ink texture that reads really well on the Rift, especially during teamfights when theres a lot of visual noise going on.

Voice lines stay base. No VO refresh here. Standard for an Epic at 1350 RP. But the model changes carry enough weight that I dont mind. The ink-splatter patterns on his shoulders and the brushstroke motifs running down the blade give him this scholarly assassin look. Think a calligrapher who also happens to gut people in bot lane.

Q hook animation keeps the base trajectory but the visual read is slightly different with the ink particles. Could be wrong here but I think the Q feels marginally slower visually even though the hitbox timing is identical. Played maybe 40 games testing this specifically. Same frame data, different visual perception. His W camouflage gets the ink treatment too, the ghostly trail he leaves behind has brushstroke elements woven in. Not a massive change but noticeable if you’re paying attention.

E phantom feels cleaner. The stun indicator when your shadow connects reads well against most terrain. R execute threshold marker stays functionally identical. Kept the base VO but the skin’s visual identity is strong enough to stand on its own during those clutch ult resets in late-game fights.

Inkshadow line and where Pyke fits

The Inkshadow skinline is one of Riot’s better thematic sets. Pyke shares the line with Yasuo, Yone, Kai’Sa, Udyr, and a few others. Kinda feels like Pyke was built for this aesthetic though. The assassin-from-the-deep fantasy translates naturally into the ink-warrior concept. Where some Inkshadow skins feel like the theme was forced onto the champion, Pyke wears it naturally.

Shop has it for 1350 RP. Permanent availability, grab it whenever. (Random aside: I use the splash as my Discord server banner and people keep asking what anime its from.)

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to, the dark ink wash over the already dark base creates this near-monochrome look that reads incredibly clean in game. Sapphire turns the ink motifs blue which gives serious ocean-depth vibes that match Pyke’s lore. Rose Quartz is the wildcard pick, the pink ink splatters shouldnt work on a serial killer support but somehow they do. Rest of the chromas are fine but those three carry the set.

How it stacks against other Pyke skins

Pyke’s got a stacked skin catalog. Blood Moon, PROJECT, Ashen Knight, Soul Fighter. Real talk though, Inkshadow competes with all of them at a lower price point than half. Ashen Knight is Mythic tier and locked behind crafting. Soul Fighter has the prestige variant pulling attention. PROJECT is solid but getting dated.

Inkshadow Pyke sits in this sweet spot where its accessible, looks premium, and doesnt clash with the champion’s identity. Been spamming this in Diamond for two splits now. Last Tuesday around 2 AM I pulled a triple kill under their tower with the E flash combo and the ink particles looked absolutely gorgeous in the kill replay. That sold me permanently.

Not sure if it’s just me but the auto attack animations feel crisper on this skin. Probably placebo. Probably. But when you’re trying to proc your passive gold sharing after a gank in bot lane, the visual feedback matters more than people think. Every cs of execute gold you share with your ADC, you want that clean visual confirmation.

Real verdict

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. If you main Pyke and you’re not sitting on Ashen Knight already, Inkshadow is the move. S-tier Pyke cosmetic at an Epic price point. The Inkshadow thematic elevates his kit without overcomplicating the visual reads, which matters when you’re trying to land hooks and time executes in chaotic teamfights.

Skip this if you already own three or more Pyke skins. Worth every RP if he’s your go-to support pick for climbing. Simple recommendation – strong skin, fair price, excellent chromas if you want variety. Obsidian specifically. Trust me on that one.
