Glizzy Naafiri

Riot looked at Naafiri, a champion whose entire identity is summoning a pack of hunting dogs, and said “what if the dogs were hot dogs.” Honestly not gonna lie, when the skin preview dropped I thought it was a fan concept. It was not. Glizzy Naafiri is real, it released April 2, 2025, and I have been laughing at it in loading screens for three weeks straight now. What the glizzy treatment looks like in game

The model replaces Naafiri’s Darkin wolf form with a hot dog themed version. Ketchup and mustard color accents across the body. Some kind of bun-shaped collar around the neck area. The packmates from her passive, those little wolf summons that run alongside her, are tiny hot dogs. Watching four small hot dogs chase down an enemy Jinx in a teamfight at dragon pit is genuinely one of the funniest things happening in this game right now.

Ability VFX go all in on the food theme. Her Q throws out what looks like a streak of mustard – could be wrong but I think there’s relish particles in there too. The W dash has condiment splash on impact. When Naafiri ults and leaps onto a target there’s a burst of ketchup-red VFX that covers the screen for a second. It sounds ridiculous. It is ridiculous. Thats the entire point.

But here is the thing. Despite the meme factor the VFX clarity is actually solid. Been playing Naafiri in ranked since the skin came out, maybe 30 games at this point, and the abilities read well in teamfights. Q projectile is distinct. W dash indicator is clear. R leap has a visible windup that enemies can react to. Riot did not sacrifice gameplay readability for the joke which I respect. (Random aside: the recall animation has Naafiri sitting with her hot dog pack at a little picnic and one of the packmates falls asleep. Details like that make the 1350 RP feel worth it.)

Chromas and the Food Fight line

Glizzy Naafiri belongs to the Food Fight skinline at 1350 RP. Epic tier. Comes with 8 chromas: Ruby, Catseye, Emerald, Tanzanite, Sapphire, Rose Quartz, Obsidian, and Pearl. The Emerald chroma turns the hot dog situation into a pickle-green variant that somehow looks even funnier than the base version. Obsidian goes dark and gives off what I can only describe as “charcoal grilled” energy. Not sure if it’s just me but the Pearl chroma makes the hot dogs look like those steamed white bao buns which is a whole different vibe.

Still available in the shop. Given how recent the April 2025 release is you probably wont see a sale for a while but 1350 RP for an Epic with 8 chromas is standard pricing and fair for what you get here.

Should you lock in the glizzy in ranked

If you play Naafiri at all then absolutely yes. This is the kind of skin that makes the champion more fun to pilot. Every game with Glizzy Naafiri feels lighter. You ult someone, your hot dog army chases them down, your team pings the laugh emote, everyone in all chat has a good time. Even the person you just killed. Probably.

Been running this in Diamond for the past few weeks and the all chat reaction is consistently positive. Played a game last Saturday around midnight where my lane opponent, a Zed one-trick, watched the hot dog pack come at him from a jungle gank and typed “the glizzies got me” before he died. Thats a skin doing its job right there. Naafiri does not have a massive skin catalog yet so the competition is thin, but even if she had ten options I think Glizzy would sit top two. Meme skins that are also well-executed are rare. This is one of them. Skip it if you dont play Naafiri but if you do, come on. You know you want the glizzies.
