Lux Skins
22 skins availableLux might have the single most stacked skin catalog in League. Not gonna lie, been playing her on and off since season 3, and every time I check the shop there's something new for her. 22 skins deep now. Twenty-two. That includes an Ultimate, two Legendaries, and four Mythic-tier Prestige skins. Riot clearly knows where the money is. She's one of those champions where you could rotate a different skin every day for three weeks and never repeat. Whether that's a flex or a problem depends on your wallet.

How Lux's Skin Collection Got This Big
Sorceress Lux dropped back in 2010. Basic recolor, nothing fancy, but it was a different era. Riot was still figuring out what skins could be. From there the catalog just kept growing year after year, and by 2025 we're sitting at 22 total skins with Prestige Spirit Blossom Lux being the latest addition.
The tier breakdown tells a story. Five Standard skins from the early days, ten Epics making up the bulk of the modern catalog, one Ultimate that changed what skins could even do, two Legendaries that went head to head on the same patch, and four Mythic Prestige variants. Not sure if it's just me but that ratio feels like Riot testing every possible price point on one champion.
Honestly the progression is wild if you look at it chronologically. Early skins like Commando Lux and Imperial Lux were just texture swaps with maybe a different outfit. Then Steel Legion showed up in 2013 and actually changed her silhouette. Star Guardian in 2015 pushed the thematic envelope. And then Elementalist in 2016 broke the whole system open. Ten forms in one skin. Still the only Ultimate that ambitious.
From 2019 onward its been a steady stream of Epic and Prestige releases. Battle Academia, Dark Cosmic and Cosmic back to back, Space Groove, Porcelain, Soul Fighter, Empyrean, Faerie Court. Lux gets at least one new skin every year, sometimes two. The champion prints money and Riot knows it. (Random aside: I track skin release dates in a spreadsheet because I have no life and Lux literally has zero gaps longer than 18 months since 2015.)
The 520 to 3250 RP price range covers everything. Budget players have options. Whales have options. Everyone in between has options. Hard to complain about selection here.
Best Skins for Lux
Elementalist Lux. Full stop. 3250 RP and worth every point if you main her. Ten elemental forms you can cycle through in-game by combining elements. Your Q, W, E, and R all shift visually depending on which form you're running. Fire Lux ult looks completely different from Ice Lux ult. Been spamming this in Diamond since season 7 and I still find new combinations that surprise me. The amount of work that went into this skin is staggering. Each form has unique VFX, different particles on every ability, and the transformation animations between elements feel clean. Could be wrong here but I think this is still the most complex skin Riot has ever shipped.
Dark Cosmic Lux takes the number two spot for me. 1820 RP Legendary with full new VO, completely reworked animations, and this corrupted cosmic aesthetic that just hits. The Q binding looks like a collapsing star. Her E zone has these swirling galaxy particles. And the ult? Massive dark energy beam that tears across the screen. Played maybe 200 games with this one last season and it never got old. The voice lines carry a weight that base Lux doesn't have. She sounds like she's seen the end of the universe and doesn't care anymore.
Cosmic Lux released on the same patch as Dark Cosmic and honestly the light version doesnt hit as hard. Still a solid Legendary at 1820 RP with full new VO and reworked everything, but the color palette feels safer. Bright golds and whites versus the deep purples and blacks of Dark Cosmic. If you're picking between the two, Dark Cosmic wins for me nine times out of ten. But Cosmic has its fans, especially players who want Lux to feel heroic rather than corrupted.
Star Guardian Lux deserves a mention even though it's an older Epic. This skin basically launched the entire Star Guardian skinline. The magical girl aesthetic fits Lux so naturally it's almost annoying. Spell effects are clean, the recall is cute, and the thematic just works. Kinda feels like this is the skin Lux was designed around even though it came years after release.
Battle Academia Lux rounds out my top five. Solid Epic with a school uniform theme, punchy ability VFX, and the Prestige version adds that golden sheen if you managed to grab it. Not the flashiest but the animations feel responsive in lane, which matters more than people think when you're trying to land Q on a Yasuo who's dashing through your wave at Mach 5.
Skinlines and Thematic Fits
Lux shows up in a ridiculous number of skinlines. Star Guardian Season 1 is probably the most iconic. She was the poster child for that whole universe and the skin still holds up years later. The magical girl fantasy matches her kit perfectly. Light-based abilities, protective shield, big flashy ult. It writes itself.
The Cosmic and Dark Cosmic line gave her two entries on the same day, which was a bold move. Letting players choose between light and dark versions of the same thematic created this community split that Riot definitely planned. Smart marketing. The space aesthetic works well on Lux because her abilities already have that ethereal, energy-based look.
Steel Legion took her in a military sci-fi direction back in 2013. Armored up, darker palette, grittier VFX. It was controversial at the time because some people thought it didn't fit her personality but I think thats exactly why it works. Shows range. (Sidebar for Lux mains specifically: Steel Legion Q has a slightly different visual hitbox perception that threw me off for like 30 games when I first switched to it.)
Lunar Revel and Porcelain tap into the same cultural aesthetic from different angles. Lunar Empress was the event skin, Porcelain came later with a more refined look. Space Groove went full disco. Soul Fighter leaned into the fighting game theme. Real talk though, not every skinline fits Lux equally. Commando and Imperial from the early days feel like they belong to a different game entirely. They're historical artifacts at this point.
Faerie Court dropped in 2024 and the fantasy fairy aesthetic actually suits her better than I expected. The spell effects have this whimsical quality. Might be overthinking it but Faerie Court Lux feels like what would happen if Star Guardian Lux grew up and moved to a fantasy realm.
Budget vs Premium Picks
If you're watching your RP, Steel Legion Lux at a Standard price point punches way above its weight. Changed model, solid VFX updates for the era, and it's been around long enough that it feels like a classic. Spellthief Lux is another budget option that looks clean without breaking the bank.
For Epic tier, Star Guardian and Battle Academia are the two I'd recommend first. Both have strong VFX, good recall animations, and the thematic quality you expect at 1350 RP. Space Groove and Porcelain are fine but don't hit the same level for me. Soul Fighter is decent if you like the fighting game angle.
Premium is where Lux really shines though. Fair warning, once you play Elementalist Lux for a week you can't go back. The 3250 RP price tag is steep but you're getting ten skins in one. It's the best value-per-form in the entire game. If that's too much, Dark Cosmic at 1820 RP is the Legendary I'd pick. Full new VO, completely different feel, and the dark aesthetic makes you feel like a villain in the best way.
The Prestige skins are a separate conversation. You either had the tokens and event pass at the time or you didn't. Prestige Battle Academia and Prestige Porcelain both look great but they're collector items, not necessarily better than their base versions. Worth 1820 RP if you main Lux and care about rare cosmetics. Otherwise the standard versions do the job.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many skins does Lux have?
22 skins total as of 2025. That's one of the highest counts in League. The range goes from old Standard recolors like Sorceress Lux all the way up to Elementalist Lux, the only 10-form Ultimate skin in the game. Riot keeps adding to her catalog basically every year. She's a cash cow and they know it.
What is the best Lux skin?
Elementalist Lux if you want the most content. Ten forms, unique VFX per element, in-game transformation system. It's 3250 RP but nothing else comes close for sheer variety. If that's too steep, Dark Cosmic Lux at 1820 RP is the Legendary I'd recommend. Full new VO and the dark space theme just hits different.
What is the cheapest Lux skin?
Sorceress Lux and Spellthief Lux sit at the 520 RP range. Basic texture changes, no new VFX or animations. Commando and Imperial are similar budget tier. They're old skins from 2010-2011 so dont expect anything fancy. Honestly fine if you just want something different from the default look without spending much.
Does Lux have a Legendary skin?
Two of them. Dark Cosmic Lux and Cosmic Lux both dropped on the same patch at 1820 RP each. Full new voice lines, reworked animations, completely different VFX. Dark Cosmic is the fan favorite between the two. She also has Elementalist which is technically Ultimate tier, one step above Legendary. Spoiled champion honestly.
What skinlines is Lux in?
A lot. Star Guardian, Cosmic, Dark Cosmic, Steel Legion, Battle Academia, Space Groove, Porcelain, Soul Fighter, Empyrean, Faerie Court, Spirit Blossom, Lunar Revel, and more. She's in basically every major skinline Riot has launched. Some fit better than others. Star Guardian and Cosmic are the standouts for me.
Does Lux have chromas?
Yeah, several of her Epic and Mythic skins have chromas. Battle Academia, Space Groove, Porcelain, Soul Fighter, and more all come with chroma sets. The Prestige skins are basically fancy chromas themselves depending on how you look at it. Check individual skin pages for specific counts and color options.
When was Lux's last skin released?
Prestige Spirit Blossom Lux in 2025. Mythic tier. Before that was Panda Pal Lux and Faerie Court Lux. She gets new skins constantly, usually at least one per year. Been like that since around season 5. If you're waiting for the next one it probably wont be a long wait knowing Riot's track record with her.
Is Lux worth buying skins for?
If you play her regularly, absolutely. Her kit is ability-heavy with lots of particle effects so skins make a noticeable difference. Locked in Lux for my climb from Plat to Diamond last split and the skin quality genuinely affects how the champion feels. Start with one Epic if you're testing the waters. Elementalist if you're committed.
