Arcana Ahri

First game I played with Arcana Ahri was around 1 AM on a Tuesday, right after the patch dropped. Locked her in for a ranked game and the loading screen splash alone had me sold. Not gonna lie, I wasnt expecting much from another Ahri skin because she already has like fifteen at this point, but Arcana caught me off guard. The tarot card fantasy is strong here, and it works way better on Ahri than I thought it would.

How Arcana Ahri looks and feels in game

The model leans into this fortune teller vibe with deep reds and golds. Ahri’s tails have these tarot card patterns woven into them, and when you’re moving through lane they catch light in a way that base Ahri just doesn’t. Big upgrade visually.

VFX got a full rework for this tier. Her Q orb is this burning tarot card that spins out and returns, and honestly the return animation on it looks cleaner than some Legendary skins I’ve played. W foxfires are these little floating card fragments that home in on targets. Looks crisp in teamfights when you’re poking from the backline. E charm is where it really shines though. The heart gets replaced with this golden arcana symbol and the hit confirmation feels satisfying to land.

R spirit rush dashes leave behind these card trail effects. Been spamming this in Diamond for a few months and the dash particles never got old. Could be wrong here but I think the R VFX on Arcana might be the cleanest of any Epic tier Ahri skin. The recall animation has Ahri doing a tarot reading, flipping cards. Solid detail for 1350 RP.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for an Epic skin and honestly Ahri’s base voice is fine so it doesnt bother me.

The Arcana skinline and release context

Arcana Ahri released April 14, 2022. Mid season 12. Julia Yurtsev nailed the splash, the composition with the floating tarot cards behind Ahri reads like an actual tarot illustration. Portfolio-worthy piece.

The Arcana line is one of Riot’s more visually cohesive themes. Ahri dropped alongside Arcana Hecarim, Rakan, and Xayah in the second wave. Kinda feels like Ahri got the best treatment of the batch though. The red and gold palette just fits her kit’s visual language naturally.

8 chromas total. Tanzanite is my personal go-to, the deep purple shifts the whole skin into this dark mystic direction that hits harder than base. Obsidian goes full dark mode if thats your thing, very clean against Summoner’s Rift. Rose Quartz softens everything into pastels which works surprisingly well. (Random aside: my Ahri one-trick friend runs Tanzanite exclusively and refuses to acknowledge the other seven exist.)

Should you pick up Arcana Ahri for 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic skin for Ahri mains. The VFX carry it hard. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get, especially with the chroma variety if you want to mix things up between games.

Competition is fierce though. Spirit Blossom Ahri exists. K/DA All Out exists. Coven exists. Ahri has maybe the deepest skin roster of any champion and Arcana slots in comfortably around top five. Not the best Ahri skin full stop, but if you’re into the darker mystical aesthetic over pop star or ethereal themes, Arcana is the pick. Took this into ranked for about 30 games last season and I kept coming back to it over Spirit Blossom specifically because the Q animation felt snappier to cs with.

Permanent shop, available any time. No rush. But if you main Ahri and you’re looking for something that isn’t another K/DA variant, might be overthinking it but I think Arcana deserves a spot in your rotation. Worth 1350 RP if you main Ahri, especially with the Tanzanite chroma on top.
