Masked Justice Yone

First game I played with Masked Justice Yone was around 3 AM on a Tuesday, solo queue Diamond lobby, and the load screen splash alone had my duo asking what skin that was. Yone already has a stacked wardrobe at this point. Spirit Blossom, Heartsteel, Dawnbringer, the High Noon variants. So when Riot drops another 1350 RP Epic you kinda expect filler. Not gonna lie, this one surprised me.

What Masked Justice actually brings to Yone

The whole concept is a tokusatsu-inspired hero look. Think sentai rangers but with Yone’s dual-blade kit. The model swap is clean. He’s got a full armored suit with a helmet visor that reads well on the Rift even zoomed out, which matters more than people think when you’re tracking him in a teamfight.

Q feels snappier visually. The thrust animation has this bright energy trail that makes landing the third Q knockup more satisfying. Could be wrong here but I think the hitbox reads slightly different because of how the VFX extends. W shield pulse got a new color treatment, blue-white energy burst that contrasts nicely against darker map skins. E is where the skin shines hardest though. The spirit form gets its own distinct color palette so you can actually tell base Yone from soul Yone at a glance during a dive.

R is solid. Big dramatic slash with the justice theme VFX. Played maybe 40 games with this skin in ranked and the ult animation feels like it has more weight to it. Not mechanically different obviously, but the visual feedback hits harder than base. The recall animation is new too, some hero pose sequence that fits the theme. Short and punchy.

Voice lines stay base. Standard for an Epic tier skin at this price point, no VO refresh. Noshir Dalal’s original performance still carries fine though so its not a dealbreaker for me.

The Masked Justice line and release context

Masked Justice dropped February 20, 2025. Late season 15. Francis Tneh and West Studio handled the artwork, and they captured something really dynamic in that splash. The pose has genuine motion to it instead of the generic standing-with-weapon energy.

The Masked Justice skinline is one of Riot’s newer thematic sets. Senna and Lucian got skins in the same line. Yone fits naturally into the superhero angle because his whole kit already has that dramatic flair with the spirit cleaving and the sweeping ult. Kinda feels like this theme was designed with him in mind.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is the standout for me, goes full dark knight mode and the contrast with the VFX is chef’s kiss. Sapphire runs a deep blue that reads like an actual different skin. Pearl is interesting if you want the clean white hero aesthetic. (Random aside: Obsidian Masked Justice Yone has been my phone lock screen since the patch dropped.) The rest are fine but those three carry the chroma set.

How it stacks against other Yone skins

Real talk though, Yone mains are spoiled. Spirit Blossom Yone is still the community favorite for good reason. Heartsteel has the music gimmick. High Noon has two versions now. Been maining Yone with Masked Justice this season in Diamond and I keep it in rotation but it hasnt fully replaced Spirit Blossom for me in ranked.

Where Masked Justice wins is clarity. The VFX are distinct without being noisy. In a late-game teamfight where you’re trying to land E into R on the backline, the visual feedback is cleaner than most of his other skins. Season 14 I think I was running Dawnbringer and the VFX sometimes blended with ally abilities. Not an issue here.

Skip this if you already own three or four Yone skins and dont feel the superhero theme. But for Yone one-tricks looking for something that plays well competitively while still looking premium, 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The chromas add genuine variety too. Locked in Obsidian for about 23 games in a row one weekend and zero regrets.

Should you buy it?

Verdict time. Masked Justice Yone is a well-executed Epic that doesnt try to be more than it is. New VFX across all abilities, solid recall, strong chroma options. It wont dethrone Spirit Blossom as the consensus pick but it carves out its own lane. Worth 1350 RP if you main Yone. Top three Yone skin for competitive play specifically because of the visual clarity. Been daily driving the Obsidian chroma and I think it might be the cleanest Yone skin for actual gameplay readability on the Rift right now. Fair price for the package.
