Steel Valkyries Skins

All 10 skins in the Steel Valkyries skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Steel Valkyries skin in League of Legends.

Steel Valkyries is one of those skinlines where Riot went full sci-fi mech anime and honestly nailed the landing. Not gonna lie, when I first saw the aesthetic back in 2022 with the Cyber Halo batch, I thought it was just another futuristic cash grab. But the line stretches way back to 2010, and once you lay out all 10 skins together you see the shared DNA: angular armor plating, neon accents on dark chrome, wings or thrusters on almost every champion. The whole vibe reads like a militarized Gundam squadron and I'm here for it. Been locking in these skins across ranked for a while now and the line holds up better than most.

What Sets Steel Valkyries Apart on the Rift

Could be wrong here but I think Steel Valkyries might be the most visually cohesive sci-fi line Riot has put out. The shared elements are obvious once you start paying attention: layered metal plating with glowing seams, jet-style wings or boosters, and a color palette that leans hard into silver, white, and electric blue. Every champion in the line looks like they stepped out of the same hangar bay. Thats rare for Riot skinlines where half the roster usually feels shoehorned in.

The splash arts tie together with a military command structure vibe. You've got commanders, paladins, titans, admirals. Not just random cool names. There's a hierarchy baked into the lore and the visual language reflects it. Strike Commander Camille looks like she's actually in charge of Strike Paladin Lucian, which is a nice touch that most players probably dont notice.

Compare this to something like PROJECT where every skin is "cool cyborg but different color." Steel Valkyries commits to the armored flight unit fantasy harder. The VFX across the line share particle shapes: hexagonal shields, thrust trails, angular energy bursts. When you see a Steel Valkyries ability fire off in a teamfight you know immediately what line it's from. (Random aside: my duo partner calls them "the Titanfall skins" and honestly that tracks.)

The one thing that really separates this line from Riot's other tech skinlines like Pulsefire or Program is weight. These champions feel armored. The models have bulk to them. Nasus in Armored Titan looks like he could tank a tower shot with his shoulder plate alone. Even Janna, who's usually all flowing robes and wind, gets this sleek battle-suit treatment that actually works. Kinda feels like the concept artists had more freedom here than usual because the results are consistently strong across the whole roster.

Best Steel Valkyries Skins Worth Your RP

Gun Goddess Miss Fortune. Full stop. This is the crown jewel of the entire line and one of only four Ultimate skins in the game. 2775 RP is steep, I get it. But you're getting four distinct forms you can swap between in-game, each with unique ability VFX, model changes, and sound design. Been spamming this in Diamond on my ADC account and the Scarlet Fair form specifically just hits different in lane. The auto attack sounds alone are worth it if you're a Miss Fortune main who CS's a lot.

Real talk though. The skin got a visual update and it needed one. Original 2018 release showed its age by season 12. Post-update it competes with modern Legendaries easily. Four forms for 2775 RP when a single Legendary costs 1820? Math works out.

Aether Wing Kayle sits at Legendary tier and this one's complicated. Pre-rework Aether Wing was genuinely one of the best skins in the game, maybe top 10 all-time. Post-rework it lost some of that magic. The evolved forms at level 6, 11, and 16 still look incredible and the voice lines are unique, but something about the base form feels less impactful than it used to. Still the best Kayle skin for my money. Played maybe 200 games with it across seasons 10 through 13 and I keep coming back.

Cyber Halo Janna surprised me. Epic tier, so 1350 RP, and it punches above its weight class. The shield VFX on E specifically look premium. Clean angular halo effect, the tornado Q gets this turbine spin animation. For Janna mains who want something that feels modern without dropping Legendary money, this is the pick. Not sure if it's just me but the Prestige version feels like a downgrade visually? The gold tint muddies the clean white-and-blue palette that makes the base Epic work so well.

Armored Titan Nasus deserves a mention. Big dog in big armor. The Q bonk with the mace feels heavier than base Nasus which matters when you're stacking in lane. Solid Epic skin, nothing groundbreaking, but thematic fit is S-tier. Nasus as a walking tank mech just makes sense.

Bullet Angel Kai'Sa rounds out my top picks. The wings on her E evolve look fantastic in the Steel Valkyries aesthetic. Seen maybe 5 of these in my ranked games all season which is a shame because it's genuinely clean.

The Steel Valkyries Champion Roster

10 skins across 9 champions. Janna gets two entries because of the Prestige variant, which I think says something about how well the Cyber Halo design landed internally at Riot.

The roster splits into two camps for me. Champions that feel born for this skinline and champions that work but dont blow you away. Camille is the obvious perfect fit. She's already a blade-augmented operative in her base design, so Strike Commander Camille feels like a natural evolution. Same energy with Kai'Sa whose void suit translates perfectly into mech armor. Kayle with literal wings? Come on. That's the easiest thematic home run Riot ever scored.

Morgana as Blade Mistress is interesting. Oldest skin in the line, dating back to 2010 originally. It's a 750 RP Standard tier skin and it shows its age hard. No new VFX, no new VO. But the model rework she got in 2019 cleaned it up enough that it's passable. Not something I'd recommend buying over her newer options though.

Lucian as Strike Paladin works thematically. The dual pistols become these angular energy guns that look great during his passive proc animations. Renata Glasc as Admiral Glasc was the 2022 addition and honestly she fits the command structure fantasy well. Her W and ult VFX got the Steel Valkyries treatment properly.

Who's missing? Might be overthinking it but I keep waiting for a Steel Valkyries Vi skin. She's already punching stuff with giant gauntlets, give her mech fists. Leona would slot in perfectly as a frontline tank commander too. And Rell post-rework with the mounted lance aesthetic could be incredible in this line. Riot if you're reading this, season 15 Steel Valkyries expansion please. (Sidebar: my friend group has been theorycrafting Steel Valkyries Rell since her rework dropped and we will not shut up about it.)

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

The spread here is wild. You've got everything from a 750 RP Standard skin (Blade Mistress Morgana, 2010 vintage) all the way up to a 2775 RP Ultimate (Gun Goddess Miss Fortune). Most of the line sits at Epic 1350 RP though, which is where Riot's been parking the majority of releases for years now.

6 Epics carry the bulk. One Legendary in Aether Wing Kayle. One Ultimate in Gun Goddess MF. One Mythic Prestige with Janna. One Standard leftover from the early days. Fair warning: the quality gap between the 2010-era Blade Mistress and the 2022 Cyber Halo batch is massive. Don't judge the line by its oldest entry.

Price-wise I think the Epics offer the best value here. 1350 RP for Cyber Halo Janna or Bullet Angel Kai'Sa gets you modern VFX, clean models, and chromas on some of them. The Legendary and Ultimate are worth it strictly for mains and one-tricks. If you play Miss Fortune 300 games a season, Gun Goddess pays for itself in satisfaction. If you play her twice a month, save the RP.

Honestly the line could use more Legendaries. One Legendary across 10 skins feels thin for a skinline with this much visual identity. Imagine a Legendary Steel Valkyries Camille with new VO and a full mech transformation on her ult. That ranked game where my Camille top went 12-2 last Tuesday, I was thinking about exactly this. Riot's leaving money on the table.

Steel Valkyries FAQ

How many Steel Valkyries skins are there?

Steel Valkyries has 10 skins total as of 2024. The line covers 9 champions with Janna getting both a base Epic and a Prestige Mythic variant. Been around since 2010 technically if you count Blade Mistress Morgana, but the real identity of the line came together with the 2022 batch. Could see Riot adding more given how well the aesthetic landed.

What is the best Steel Valkyries skin?

Gun Goddess Miss Fortune by a mile. It's an Ultimate tier skin with four swappable forms, unique VFX per form, and post-update visuals that compete with anything released in 2024. If we're talking best value though, Cyber Halo Janna at 1350 RP punches way above Epic tier. Aether Wing Kayle is the Legendary pick but opinions are split post-rework.

Which champions have Steel Valkyries skins?

Kayle, Miss Fortune, Morgana, Janna, Nasus, Kai'Sa, Camille, Lucian, and Renata Glasc. Nine champions, 10 skins because Janna has both Cyber Halo and its Prestige variant. Camille and Kai'Sa fit the mech theme the most naturally. Morgana's entry is the oldest at 2010 and shows its age compared to the rest of the roster.

Does Steel Valkyries have Legendary skins?

One Legendary: Aether Wing Kayle at 1820 RP. It was originally released in 2013 and got reworked alongside Kayle's champion update. New VO, evolving model through levels 6, 11, and 16. The line also has one Ultimate in Gun Goddess Miss Fortune which sits above Legendary at 2775 RP. I think the line deserves more Legendaries honestly.

When did the Steel Valkyries skinline release?

The earliest skin is Blade Mistress Morgana from 2010, but the line wasn't branded as Steel Valkyries until later. Aether Wing Kayle dropped in 2013, Gun Goddess MF in 2018. The big 2022 wave with Janna, Nasus, Kai'Sa, Camille, Lucian, and Renata Glasc is when the line really got its identity and unified aesthetic. Long history for sure.

Are Steel Valkyries skins worth buying?

Depends on the specific skin. The 2022 Epics at 1350 RP are solid value across the board. Gun Goddess MF is worth it for ADC mains who play her regularly. Aether Wing Kayle is a good Legendary but not the slam dunk it was pre-rework. Skip Blade Mistress Morgana unless you're a collector. The line's average quality is above most sci-fi alternatives on the Rift.

Do Steel Valkyries skins have chromas?

Several of the 2022 Epic skins have chromas available. Cyber Halo Janna, Armored Titan Nasus, and others from that batch got chroma sets. The older skins like Blade Mistress Morgana and Aether Wing Kayle don't have chromas. Gun Goddess MF technically has her four forms which function like built-in chromas. Check the shop for current chroma availability on each skin.

Will Riot make more Steel Valkyries skins?

No official announcements as of early 2025 but the line has strong community reception and a clear visual identity that could expand easily. The 2022 batch proved Riot can slot new champions in without breaking the aesthetic. Vi, Leona, and Rell are popular community picks for future additions. Could be wrong but I think we'll see this line return eventually given how well it sold.
