Xayah has one of the better skin catalogs for how young she is as a champion. Released in 2017, she already sits at 12 skins and three of them are Legendaries. Three. Most champions from season 3 dont even have that many premium skins yet. Been maining her on and off since her release, duo queue with a Rakan main obviously, and I've watched this collection grow from just Cosmic Dusk to a genuinely stacked lineup. Not gonna lie, Riot clearly plays favorites with the ADC roster and Xayah benefits hard from that. The quality floor on her skins is high because even the worst Xayah skin is still a 1350 Epic.

How Xayah's Skin Collection Grew Over the Years

Cosmic Dusk dropped alongside her release back in 2017. Standard move from Riot, launch a champion with one skin and call it a day. But that first skin set the bar. Clean cosmic VFX on her feathers, decent recall animation. For a release skin it was already better than what most champions get after years on the roster.

Then Sweetheart came the next year. Valentines line, paired with Rakan naturally. SSG Xayah followed for the Worlds 2017 commemorative set. Could be wrong here but I think that was the first esports skin where the champion was less than a year old. Quick turnaround.

Season 9 is where things got wild. Star Guardian Xayah dropped and it wasnt just a skin, it was a whole narrative arc. Corrupted Star Guardian with unique voice lines, transformed animations, the works. Legendary tier at 1820 RP and worth every point. Riot followed that up years later with Redeemed Star Guardian, giving her the uncorrupted version. Two Legendaries from the same skinline. Unprecedented for most champions.

Between those two Star Guardian releases she picked up Elderwood in 2020 and Brave Phoenix plus its Prestige variant in 2021. Arcana came 2022. Broken Covenant in 2023. Battle Bat somewhere in there too. Then Battle Academia in 2025 as her newest Legendary. Twelve skins across eight years. Consistent output.

The tier breakdown tells the story pretty clearly. Eight Epics at 1350 RP each, three Legendaries at 1820 RP, and one Mythic with Prestige Brave Phoenix. No cheap 975 or 520 RP options exist for Xayah. Minimum entry is 1350. Might be overthinking it but I think that says something about how Riot values her playerbase - they know Xayah mains will pay for quality.

Best Xayah Skins Worth Your RP

Star Guardian Xayah is the one. Full stop. Been spamming this in Diamond since it first dropped back in season 9 and I keep coming back to it every few months. The corrupted aesthetic hits different on an ADC who already has that rebellious edge in her base design. Her Q throws out dark crystalline feathers instead of the standard ones, and the W attack speed steroid gets this purple energy surge that actually feels faster even though its the same numbers. The E root? Chef's kiss. Dark tendrils snap back and the sound design on that ability alone justifies the 1820 RP.

Redeemed Star Guardian sits right behind it. Same Legendary quality but the uncorrupted version. Lighter palette, more traditional magical girl energy. The ult shield animation is gorgeous on this one - full Star Guardian transformation moment every time you press R. Personally I swap between corrupted and redeemed depending on my mood. Dark Xayah for late night ranked sessions around 2 AM. Light Xayah for weekend normals with friends. (random aside: my duo partner literally picks his Rakan skin to match whichever Star Guardian I lock in)

Battle Academia Xayah is the newest Legendary from 2025. Fresh animations across the board. Haven't had as much time with this one yet but the Q feathers have this academic energy trail that reads super clean in teamfights. The recall animation has her studying at a desk and throwing feathers at textbooks. Charming stuff. Feels like Riot put real effort into making this feel distinct from her other Legendaries rather than just reskinning the same framework.

Prestige Brave Phoenix is for collectors. Mythic tier, special acquisition. The golden phoenix VFX on her abilities look premium and the splash art is one of the best in her catalog. Not something you can just grab from the shop though.

Cosmic Dusk still holds up honestly. First skin, 1350 RP, and the cosmic feather effects on her E root are cleaner than half the Epic skins released last year. Took this into ranked for maybe 30 games last month and forgot I wasnt using a Legendary. That's how solid it is for an Epic.

Skinline Themes and Which Ones Fit Xayah

Eight different skinlines across twelve skins. Xayah gets around thematically. Star Guardian is the obvious standout - two skins in that line, both Legendaries, and the corrupted-to-redeemed narrative arc gives her actual character development through cosmetics. Kinda feels like Riot planned the redemption arc from day one given how cleanly it connects.

Cosmic works naturally for her. The celestial feather fantasy maps perfectly onto an ADC who literally throws feathers as her kit identity. Elderwood takes that nature angle and pushes it into fantasy territory. Solid theme for a Vastayan champion.

Phoenixmancers gave us Brave Phoenix and the Prestige variant. Fire bird plus feather champion. Makes sense on paper and delivers in game. The flame effects on her W enhanced autos are some of the most satisfying hit particles she has.

Arcana and Broken Covenant lean darker. Tarot aesthetic and shadowy covenant vibes respectively. Both fit her edgier personality better than something like Sweetheart which always felt forced to me. Real talk though, the Heartbreakers skin with Rakan is cute as a duo flex but the actual VFX are mid compared to everything else in her collection. Season 8 skin quality versus season 13 skin quality is just a different world.

The World Champions SSG skin is a time capsule. Cool to own for the historical significance but the model feels dated now. Not sure if it's just me but esports skins from that era all share that slightly stiff animation quality that Riot has since moved past.

Budget Picks vs Going Premium on Xayah

Here's the thing with Xayah. No budget options exist. Her cheapest skins are 1350 RP Epics. No 520 RP recolor, no 750 RP model swap. You're spending at minimum 1350 for any Xayah skin. Compared to champions like Lux or Miss Fortune who have options at every price point, Xayah's catalog starts at Epic and goes up.

Best value pick is Cosmic Dusk at 1350 RP. Release skin, still competitive quality, cosmic feather effects that genuinely change how the champion feels. Elderwood is another strong 1350 option if you prefer the nature aesthetic over space vibes.

Going Legendary is where the real magic happens though. 1820 RP for Star Guardian Xayah gets you new voice lines, completely reworked animations, unique recall, and VFX that transform the champion identity. The jump from Epic to Legendary on Xayah is one of the biggest quality gaps in the game. Been playing both tiers back to back in my Diamond games last split and the Legendary skins feel like a different champion entirely.

If you only buy one skin for Xayah and you main her seriously, save for a Legendary. 1820 RP well spent for mains. If you're just picking her occasionally in ranked, Cosmic Dusk at 1350 does the job and then some.
