First time I saw this skin pop up in the loading screen I had to double-take. Prestige Empyrean K’Sante hit different from the base Empyrean version. The white and gold colorway is clean. Like genuinely clean. Not every Prestige pulls off that elevated look without feeling washed out, but this one lands. Been running it since it dropped back in November 2022 and I still get comments in lobby about the splash.
How Prestige Empyrean K’Sante looks on the Rift
So the base Empyrean K’Sante already had new VFX going for it. The Prestige version keeps all of that but wraps everything in this white-gold palette that honestly reads better in teamfights. Your Q poke in lane has this bright shimmer that makes the hitbox feel more visible to you as the player. Not sure if it’s just me but I swear I hit more Qs with this skin on. Placebo probably.
The W channel is where things get interesting. That defensive stance K’Sante goes into gets this radiant golden barrier effect. In a chaotic teamfight where you’re trying to peel for your ADC, the visual clarity actually helps your team understand what you’re doing. The E dash leaves a trail of light particles behind you. Simple change – huge impact on how fluid the ability chain feels.
Kinda feels like Riot put extra attention into the recall animation too. New recall included, and the Prestige version has K’Sante striking this confident pose with the golden energy swirling around him. Its cool for about the first 50 times, then it just becomes background noise, but hey that’s every recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO here. Standard for a Mythic tier skin. The base voice actor DeObia Oparei already killed it with K’Sante’s lines so I dont mind.
(Random aside: I use the Prestige splash as my ranked lobby background and nobody has questioned my taste yet.)
The Empyrean line and where Prestige fits
The Empyrean skinline launched alongside K’Sante himself. November 3, 2022. Riot dropped a whole batch of Empyrean skins that patch. Julia Yurtsev handled the artwork for this Prestige version, and honestly the splash captures this ethereal power fantasy that the in-game model delivers on. That’s rare. Half the time splashes oversell what you actually get.
Empyrean as a skinline leans into this cosmic electronic aesthetic. Neon edges, digital particles, that whole vibe. The Prestige variant strips back the heavy neon and replaces it with something more regal. Gold and white instead of the aggressive purple-blue of base Empyrean. Think of it like the difference between a rave outfit and a gala look. Same energy, different execution.
No chromas on this one. Prestige skins never get chromas, which makes sense. You’re already getting the premium recolor essentially. K’Sante mains who want variety need to look at the base Empyrean for that. This Mythic tier skin sits at special pricing, meaning you couldnt just buy it with RP directly. Had to go through the event pass grind or Mythic Essence route. Available now through the Mythic shop rotation.
Playing K’Sante with the Prestige skin in ranked
Real talk though. Took this into Diamond ranked for maybe 30 games straight last season around late January. K’Sante’s kit is already one of the more complex top lane kits in the game. You need to know when to go All Out with your ult, when to peel, when to splitpush. The skin doesnt change any of that obviously but the cleaner VFX on the Prestige version made me feel like my ability sequences were smoother to track.
There’s 3 things that stood out after extended play: the Q particles reading cleanly against river terrain, the W barrier being instantly recognizable to my support when I roamed, and the ult transformation looking absolutely sick when you dive the backline. That All Out form in Prestige colors goes hard. Had a game last week where I ulted their Jinx into a wall near dragon pit and my duo literally said “that looked cinematic.”
Pre-6 laning with this skin feels identical to any other K’Sante skin. Post-6 is where the visual upgrade earns its keep. The transformation VFX on the ult sell the fantasy of this tank turning into a damage threat. Might be overthinking it but I think the gold particles on the Prestige version communicate the power shift better than the base Empyrean purple.
Should you pick up Prestige Empyrean K’Sante?
Straight talk: if you main K’Sante this is arguably the best skin for the champion. The Empyrean line fits his aesthetic naturally and the Prestige upgrade elevates it without overdoing the visual noise. Heartsteel K’Sante exists too and that’s a solid alternative if you want something more grounded, but for pure visual impact the Prestige wins.
The catch is availability. Since it’s Mythic tier with special pricing you cant just drop RP whenever you want. You need to wait for the Mythic shop rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Been seeing maybe 2 or 3 of these in my games all season which tells me most K’Sante players either missed the event or went for the base Empyrean instead. Their loss honestly. If you’re climbing on K’Sante and care about how your champ looks while you comp-diff the enemy top laner, keep an eye on the Mythic rotation. S-tier K’Sante cosmetic. The skin if you can only own one.
