La Ilusión Renata Glasc

First time I saw La Ilusión Renata Glasc in the loading screen I thought Riot finally gave this champion some real personality outside the corporate villain angle. The splash alone sold me. Locked it in that same night in a Diamond ranked game around midnight and the VFX just felt right from the first Q landed. Not gonna lie, Renata Glasc skins have been hit or miss, but this one hits.

How the skin actually plays

The La Ilusión theme translates into this warm golden and magenta color palette across all of Renata Glasc’s kit. Her Q tether gets these flowing ribbon-like particles that read cleaner than base in teamfights. Huge deal for a support where your team needs to see what you’re doing. The W shield effect picks up the festival aesthetic with scattered petal-style VFX, and honestly it makes the ability feel more impactful even though mechanically nothing changed.

E is where I noticed the biggest visual upgrade. The wave spreads out with this confetti-like trail that actually looks distinct against the Rift floor. Been running this in ranked for months now and the particle clarity on E specifically helped me track the slow zone better in chaotic bot lane fights. Could be wrong here but I think the hitbox reads slightly more honest with these particles compared to base.

Her ult is the showpiece though. Berserk goes off and you get this burst of warm light and festival imagery surrounding the affected enemies. Caught their Kai’Sa and Thresh in dragon pit last Tuesday with it and the visual payoff was clean. The recall animation leans into the La Ilusión carnival vibe hard. Renata Glasc doing a little performance moment before backing. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin.

The La Ilusión line and release context

La Ilusión Renata Glasc dropped September 27, 2023. Late into season 13. Su Fu and Kudos Productions handled the splash artwork, and they cooked on this one. The warm tones and the pose capture Renata Glasc’s manipulative energy through a festival lens instead of the usual cold corporate thing.

The La Ilusión skinline is one of Riot’s cultural celebration themes. Renata Glasc fits it better than I expected. (Random aside: the splash has been my desktop wallpaper since release and nobody at work has asked about it yet.) The line includes Gnar, Nidalee, Draven, Qiyana, and Ziggs. Renata Glasc stands out because her base design already has that theatrical flair that meshes with the festival concept naturally.

9 chromas total for this skin. Amethyst is my personal pick, the deep purple complements the gold accents way better than base. Vivida goes bold with pink and green which sounds awful but actually works in game. Pearl cleans everything up into this white and gold look thats probably the most elegant option if you want something subtle. Shop has it at 1350 RP, permanent availability.

Worth the 1350 RP?

Real verdict: La Ilusión Renata Glasc is a solid Epic skin that does more than the minimum. New VFX across all abilities, a proper recall animation, and a theme that actually fits the champion. For 1350 RP it delivers what you’d expect and maybe a little more on the visual clarity side.

Kinda feels like this is the best Renata Glasc skin if you’re not counting the Prestige version. Admiral Glasc leans too corporate, Fright Night is cool but niche. La Ilusión strikes the balance between flashy and readable. Been maining Renata Glasc with this skin since it dropped and I keep coming back to it over the alternatives. Spammed maybe 15 games in a row one weekend in Diamond and the peel felt smoother just because I could track my own abilities better. Placebo? Might be overthinking it but the VFX clarity genuinely helps in lane and in late-game teamfights around objectives.

Skip it if you already own Fright Night and dont care about the aesthetic shift. But for Renata Glasc mains or support players looking for a clean engage/disengage skin with good particle readability, 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. First choice for Renata Glasc mains this season.
