Durand's Legacy Taliyah - Splash, Price & In-Game Look

First game I loaded this up, my jungler pinged me three times before minions spawned asking what skin that was. Durand’s Legacy Taliyah hit different from the loading screen alone. Not sure if it’s just me but the whole stone-guardian aesthetic fits Taliyah better than half the skins Riot has put out for her. Been running this in Diamond for a solid chunk of games now and the visual identity just clicks with who the champion is supposed to be.

So the big thing with Durand’s Legacy Taliyah is the texture and model work. The Laws of Stone skinline leans into this ancient petricite architecture vibe, and Taliyah wears it well. Her outfit pulls from Demacian stonecraft traditions, heavy robes with carved detailing that reads clean even zoomed out in a teamfight. The color palette shifts toward warmer golds and deep greys compared to her base skin’s earth tones.

Q feels visually distinct. The rock shards carry that polished stone look instead of raw earth, which honestly helps me track them better in lane. Could be wrong here but I think the particles read slightly larger than base, though thats probably just the color contrast doing work. W and E keep a similar aesthetic, grounded and heavy, which makes sense for the skinline theme.

Voice lines stay base. No new VO which is standard for an Epic tier skin. The recall animation doesnt change either based on the feature set. What you’re paying for here is the model, textures, and the splash. For a champion like Taliyah who spends a lot of time weaving around the Rift with her passive, the model work matters more than you’d think. Every roam mid to bot lane, every R channel across the map, you’re staring at this skin. The silhouette holds up.

One thing I noticed around 1 AM last Thursday in a ranked game: the worked stone motif on her scarf catches light in a specific way during river fights. Small detail. Huge payoff when you’re positioning around dragon pit.

The Laws of Stone and where this skin sits

The Laws of Stone is one of Riot’s newer skinlines and Durand’s Legacy Taliyah fits the thematic perfectly. Taliyah is literally a stone weaver, a rock mage, so putting her in a line about ancient stone laws and Durand’s legacy feels like the design team actually thought about champion identity for once. No chromas available for Durand’s Legacy Taliyah. Zero. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity because the gold and grey palette would translate well into alternate colorways, but it is what it is. Shop has it as a permanent option so you’re not waiting on vault rotations or rolling Hextech chests and hoping.

Release date and exact RP pricing weren’t in my data pull, but as an Epic skin the standard 1350 RP tag applies. Thats the going rate for this tier and honestly for the model quality here it tracks. Taliyah mains have been asking for skins that respect the champion fantasy for years and this one delivers on that front without trying to reinvent her.

Worth locking in or skip?

Real verdict: Durand’s Legacy Taliyah is a solid Epic. Not the flashiest skin in the game. Not trying to be. What it does well is give Taliyah a visual identity that matches her lore better than most of her catalog. Been maining Taliyah with this equipped for maybe 30 games across two weeks and I keep coming back to it over Pool Party and Star Guardian.

If you one-trick Taliyah or play her regularly in mid or jungle, this is worth the 1350 RP. The Laws of Stone line gave her something grounded, literally, and the model work carries it. For people who only play Taliyah occasionally in ARAM or when she’s meta for jungle clear speed, you can probably skip it. But for mains? Top pick for Taliyah mains. The skin respects the champion and that counts for more than flashy VFX half the time.

My Taliyah one-trick friend in season 13 or 14 dont remember exactly said this was the first skin where she felt like the character matched the gameplay fantasy.
