Been playing Taric on and off since season 2 and honestly this skin is the reason I even picked him up. Not sure if it’s just me but Armor of the Fifth Age Taric radiates a confidence that no other support skin in the game comes close to matching. Pink armor, exposed abs, that headband. Pure energy. First time I locked this in during a ranked game around 3 AM, my duo just typed “respect” in chat and nothing else.
What the skin actually changes
Let me be real here. This is a 750 RP Standard tier skin from 2010. You’re not getting new VFX or a custom recall animation. Voice lines stay base. What you ARE getting is a complete model swap that turns Taric into a pink-armored gem knight who looks like he walked out of an 80s workout video. The color palette shift from blue to hot pink changes the entire vibe of the champion.
The gems on his armor and shield shift to match the pink theme. His hammer gets the same treatment. In lane specifically, the skin reads clean against the Rift’s green and brown tones, which I think actually makes him easier to track in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I feel like enemies underestimate a pink Taric. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season and I swear people dive you more aggressively, like they dont take the pick seriously. Their loss when you hit that perfect E stun into R and your ADC cleans up.
No new particles on Q heal, W shield, or E stun. The ult still has the base invulnerability effect. For a skin at this price point thats expected. Simple texture and model change – huge impact on how the champion feels to play.
The legend behind Fifth Age
Armor of the Fifth Age Taric dropped April 8, 2010. Early League days. Xi Zhang handled the artwork, and the splash captures the energy perfectly with Taric posing like he’s about to drop a fitness album. (Random aside: this splash has been my Discord avatar for two years and nobody has complained once.)
The skin sits under the Demacia Vice line technically, which makes sense given the retro glamour aesthetic. The Demacia Vice collection leans into that neon 80s fantasy and Armor of the Fifth Age Taric fits right in. Been a community meme skin since release, the kind of cosmetic that signals you’re having fun in your games rather than sweating every cs.
No chromas available. Honestly the skin doesnt need them. The pink is THE identity. Shop has it for 750 RP any time you want it.
Should you buy it?
Verdict time. 750 RP feels fair for what you get. Real talk though, this is less about the technical quality and more about what the skin represents. Armor of the Fifth Age Taric is a statement pick. You lock this in and your team knows you’re confident in your peel game. Last Tuesday I had a Kayn jungle who typed “nice skin” in champ select and then proceeded to gank bot three times pre-6. Coincidence? Probably. But I’m not changing skins.
If you main Taric or even play him occasionally in support or top lane, this is a must-own. The only Taric skin if you can only own one, purely for cultural value. Pool Party and Taric Luminshield are technically better skins from a features standpoint, but neither one carries the same weight in loading screen. Skip the fancy stuff. Go pink. Worth every RP for mains, and honestly even worth it if you play Taric once a month in ARAM. S-tier Taric cosmetic not because of what it adds, but because of what it means.
