Winterblessed Skins

All 17 skins in the Winterblessed skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Winterblessed skin in League of Legends.

Winterblessed is one of those skinlines where Riot clearly had a vision and actually followed through on it. Not gonna lie, when the first batch dropped in December 2022 I wasnt sure if this was just another holiday cash grab or something with actual staying power. Turns out it's both. The frozen divine aesthetic hits different from Snow Day or Winter Wonder - think celestial ice gods rather than snowball fights. Been seeing these pop up in my Diamond games consistently since launch and they hold up visually even now.

What Makes Winterblessed Stand Out

The visual identity here is tight. Real talk though - Riot has like four different winter-themed skinlines at this point, and Winterblessed is the only one that feels premium across the board. The color palette leans into deep blues, crystalline whites, and gold accents that read as divine rather than festive. No candy canes. No Santa hats. This is winter as a power source, not a holiday party.

Shared VFX elements tie the line together well. Every skin gets these shattered ice particle effects on abilities that catch light in a specific way. The recall animations all share a crystalline throne motif - champions ascend into frozen light. Splashes share a consistent art direction too: cold blue backgrounds with warm gold focal points on the champion. Whoever directed the splash team knew what they were doing.

Compare this to Snow Day which is playful and cartoony, or Winter Wonder which skews feminine and sparkly. Winterblessed occupies the "dark winter mythology" space that didn't really exist before in League. Closest comparison might be Coven aesthetically but swap the witchy purple for frozen blue. The line reads as serious without being edgy. Hard balance to strike.

(Random aside: the loading screen borders for these skins are some of the cleanest Riot has done. Small detail but I notice it every game.)

Kinda feels like Riot looked at what made Dark Star and Cosmic work - shared visual language, clear color rules, mythological weight - and applied that formula to a winter event. Smart move. The skins feel connected without being repetitive.

Best Winterblessed Skins

Winterblessed Diana. Full stop. This Legendary carries the entire skinline on its back. The Q crescent reads as a frozen blade cutting through the air, her E pull-in has this crystalline shatter effect thats genuinely satisfying to land. New voice lines sell the "winter deity" fantasy hard. Been spamming this in Diamond whenever I get jungle and the ult - the teamfight ult specifically - creates this massive ice nova that makes the whole screen feel cold. Best Diana skin and I'll fight anyone on that.

Winterblessed Senna is the other Legendary and it's strong but not Diana-level. The auto attack animations feel clean, her Q heal has a nice frost trail, and the ult beam turns into this wide column of frozen light. Good skin. Not sure if it's just me but the base Senna model proportions work better with the Winterblessed armor than some of her other skins. Voice lines are solid. 1820 RP well spent for mains.

Winterblessed Swain surprised me. Epic tier at 1350 RP and his ult form turns into this frozen raven demon that actually made me lock in Swain for like 23 games in a row one weekend. The drain soul particles in blue-white look incredible in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I think this is his second best skin after Crystal Rose and honestly its close.

Winterblessed Thresh is another standout Epic. The lantern becomes a frozen lantern (obvious) but the hook chain - the way it crystallizes mid-air as it flies out - that's a nice touch for 1350. Played maybe 200 games of support last season and this was my default Thresh skin the whole time.

Prestige Winterblessed Warwick deserves a mention for the Mythic tier. Gold and white wolf aesthetic, cleaner than base Winterblessed Warwick. If you managed to grind the event pass for it back in 2022, you've got something that still looks premium. Seen maybe 3 of these in my games all season which helps the exclusivity factor.

Champion Roster and Thematic Fit

17 skins total across 15 champions (some getting Prestige variants). Not gonna lie, the roster is mostly strong picks. Diana and Hecarim fit the "ancient winter power" vibe perfectly - spectral horseman in ice armor, moon warrior channeling frozen divine energy. Makes sense immediately.

Swain as a frozen tyrant works. Zilean as some kind of ice sage manipulating frozen time - clever thematic connection there. Shaco as a winter trickster deity is inspired actually. His boxes spawning as little ice totems in the jungle is the kind of detail that sells a skin.

Some feel slightly forced though. Zoe as a winter spirit is fine but she already has a million "cute cosmic" skins. Maybe just my experience but she doesn't add much you cant get from Star Guardian or Arcanist. Annie similarly - young fire mage in ice clothes is a cool contrast I guess but Tibbers as an ice bear feels like it fights her core identity.

Hwei and Mel from the 2023 batch are interesting additions. Hwei painting with frozen ink, Mel channeling winter light - both newer champions getting early skinline attention. Lucian and Senna as a paired Legendary duo within the same line was a smart marketing move. Lock both in bot lane for the full aesthetic.

Who should get Winterblessed next? Lissandra is the obvious answer and I'm shocked she wasnt in batch one. Ashe too. Anivia. The ice-adjacent champions that would slot in without any thematic stretching. Maybe Riot's saving them for a third wave - could be coping but I think there's a season 14 or 15 Winterblessed event coming eventually.

Tier Breakdown and Value

12 Epics at 1350 RP. 2 Legendaries at 1820 RP. 3 Mythic Prestiges. No Standards, no Ultimates. The line sits firmly in the premium space.

The Epics do heavy lifting here. At 1350 each you're getting new VFX, new recall, new SFX across the board. Winterblessed Hecarim's ult charge in frozen blue, Winterblessed Sylas stealing abilities with ice chains - these are full-quality Epics, not phoned-in holiday skins. Price range goes 1350 to 1820 for the purchasable ones.

Both Legendaries earn their 1820 price tag. New voice lines, new animations, the full package. Not every Legendary justifies the cost (looking at you, some 2020 releases) but Diana and Senna deliver. Fair price for the package on both.

The Prestige versions - Warwick, Camille, Mel - are Mythic tier so you're either grinding event passes or spending Mythic Essence. Standard prestige rules apply. Gold chromas essentially, with slightly enhanced VFX. Worth it if you main those champions, skippable otherwise. Prestige Camille is probably the best of the three - the gold blade legs look sharp in lane. Had this in rotation for weeks after I rolled it from a reroll last Tuesday around 2 AM during a ranked binge.

Should You Invest in Winterblessed?

Might be overthinking it but I think Winterblessed is Riot's best "event" skinline since Spirit Blossom. It has identity. It has quality consistency. The worst skin in the line is still a solid 7/10 Epic. There's no throwaway filler champion that clearly got added just to pad the bundle.

If you main any champion in this roster, the Winterblessed version is probably top 2-3 for that champion. Diana Legendary is S-tier. Swain Epic is arguably his best. Thresh Epic competes with his Spirit Blossom. Strong line across the board.

For collectors who want a cohesive set - loading into a game where your whole team has Winterblessed skins looks incredible. The shared blue-white-gold palette means the team comp reads as unified on the Rift. Played a five-stack last season where we all ran Winterblessed and the enemy team actually commented on it in all chat. Worth it for the vibe alone.

17 skins deep after two event cycles (2022 and 2023). Permanent shop availability for the base versions. Pick up what fits your champion pool. Skip what doesn't. Simple formula.

How many Winterblessed skins are there?

17 Winterblessed skins total as of 2023. That includes 12 Epics, 2 Legendaries (Diana and Senna), and 3 Mythic Prestige editions for Warwick, Camille, and Mel. Spread across two holiday event cycles. Decent sized roster for a line thats only been around since late 2022.

What is the best Winterblessed skin?

Winterblessed Diana. Not close in my opinion. The Legendary treatment gives her new VO, completely reworked ability VFX with frozen particle effects, and the ult teamfight visual is one of the best in the game. Been running this as my default Diana skin since it dropped. 1820 RP well spent.

Which champions have Winterblessed skins?

Diana, Senna, Warwick, Camille, Thresh, Swain, Hecarim, Shaco, Zilean, Annie, Zoe, Lucian, Sylas, Hwei, and Mel. Mix of popular picks and some surprises. Riot covered support, jungle, mid, and ADC roles pretty evenly across the 15 champions in the roster.

Does Winterblessed have Legendary skins?

Two Legendaries: Winterblessed Diana and Winterblessed Senna, both at 1820 RP. Full new voice lines, animations, and VFX on both. Diana's is the stronger of the two in my ranked games but Senna's is no slouch either. Both earn the Legendary price tag honestly.

When did the Winterblessed skinline release?

First batch dropped December 2022 as part of the winter event. Second wave came in 2023 with additional champions. Replaced the old Snowdown Showdown holiday event format with something that feels more premium and less goofy. Two years running so far.

Are Winterblessed skins worth buying?

If you main a champion in the roster, probably yes. The Epic tier skins at 1350 RP all deliver full VFX and SFX changes. No weak entries in the line. The Legendaries are top-tier for their champions. Could be wrong but I think this is the most consistently high-quality event line Riot has done.

Do Winterblessed skins have chromas?

Most of the Epic tier Winterblessed skins have chroma sets available. Typically 6-8 color variants per skin. The Prestige editions are essentially gold chromas of the base skin with enhanced effects. Legendaries dont get chromas which is standard for that tier. Check each skin individually for exact counts.

Will Riot make more Winterblessed skins?

No official confirmation but the line ran two consecutive years (2022-2023) which suggests Riot sees it as a recurring winter event. Champions like Lissandra, Ashe, and Anivia are obvious fits that haven't gotten Winterblessed yet. I'd bet on a third wave eventually. Maybe not annual but it'll come back.
