Warhounds Skins

All 3 skins in the Warhounds skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Warhounds skin in League of Legends.

Kinda feels like Riot looked at the champion roster and asked "who would look sick as a war dog" and honestly they nailed the picks. Warhounds is a tight skinline, only 3 skins deep, and every single one fits the theme like it was designed for it. Warwick, Senna, Naafiri. Three champions who already carry that predator energy in their base kits. Not gonna lie, when I first saw the splashes drop I thought this was going to be another forgettable batch of Epics but the execution here punches way above what I expected. The armored-beast aesthetic with that grimy battlefield color palette just works.

What Sets Warhounds Apart on the Rift

So the visual identity here is pretty distinct. Think battle-worn armor plating mixed with feral energy. Every Warhound skin shares this dark metallic palette, heavy on gunmetal greys and deep reds, with glowing accents that shift between amber and crimson depending on the champion. The splash arts all have this same warzone backdrop going on, smoke and debris, broken terrain. Feels cohesive without being copy-paste.

Could be wrong here but I think what ties the line together best is the VFX treatment. All three skins got this impact-heavy particle style where abilities feel like they have real weight behind them. Not the sparkly magical stuff you see in something like Star Guardian or Spirit Blossom. Raw force. Metal scraping. Sparks on hit. That kind of vibe.

The color grading across all three splashes is consistent enough that you can tell they belong together at a glance. Thats actually harder to pull off than it sounds when your roster includes a ranged ADC, a melee bruiser, and an assassin. (Random thought but these three would make a terrifying flex comp in ranked if you had the right team around them.)

Compared to something like Marauder which also goes for that armored warrior look, Warhounds leans way harder into the animalistic side. Marauder is soldiers. Warhounds is beasts wearing armor. Big difference in feel. The silhouettes are bulkier, the stances more aggressive. Every recall animation has this pack mentality energy. Even Senna, who normally reads as composed and measured, looks like she's about to tear something apart in the Warhound version.

Particle effects across the line share a unified style but each champion gets enough individual treatment that abilities dont blend together in a teamfight. Important distinction. Some skinlines mess this up and you cant tell who's casting what when three of the same line show up in one game.

Best Warhounds Skins Worth Locking In

With only 3 skins in the line, ranking them feels almost unfair. But I've spent enough games on each to have opinions.

Warhound Warwick is the standout. Full stop. This is the skin the entire line was built around, at least thats how it feels. Warwick already has the wolf-predator fantasy baked into his kit, so slapping war armor on him is basically free thematic synergy. His Q lunge looks brutal with the new particles. The blood trail on W passive got this red-hot metallic glow that reads clean against the Rift terrain. Been spamming this in ranked for maybe 30 games now and the R suppression animation specifically is chef's kiss. He pins the target down and the impact sparks fly everywhere.

Not sure if it's just me but Warhound Naafiri might be the sleeper pick of the three. Naafiri's whole deal is the pack of dogs, right? So a skinline literally called Warhounds is basically her home. The packmates got individual armor pieces. Small detail but it matters. Her W dash feels heavier with the new trail effect and the passive packmate respawn animation has this forge-like spark to it. Played this one in maybe 15 games across two weekends and the mid lane presence with this skin just hits different.

Warhound Senna is solid but sits third for me. Real talk though, it's still a good skin. The Q heal-and-damage beam got a nice metallic shader on it and the auto attack souls have this red ember glow. Where it falls slightly behind is the thematic stretch. Senna is a marksman support hybrid, not exactly the first champion you think of when someone says "war dog." Riot made it work but you can feel the effort. Her R global beam looks sick in the Warhound treatment though. Fired it cross-map in an ARAM last week and my duo actually paused to say it looked clean.

If I had to buy only one from the set? Warwick without thinking. If you main Naafiri, hers is arguably better value because the packmate changes add so much visual density to your screen.

The Warhounds Champion Roster

Three champions. Small line. But the roster makes sense.

Warwick is the obvious anchor. He's a literal wolf-man hunting machine. Giving him armored war beast treatment is the kind of decision that writes itself. His gameplay loop of tracking low-health targets and running them down maps perfectly onto the Warhound concept. Every ability animation reinforces the predator-in-armor fantasy. Could be coping but I think this might be his second best skin behind Old God depending on your taste.

Naafiri is the pick that proves Riot was paying attention to thematic fit over popularity. She's not the most played champion. Not even close. But a champion whose entire identity revolves around commanding a pack of hounds getting a Warhound skin? Come on. That's smart design. Been maining Naafiri on and off since her release and this skin feels like it was the concept she was built for. The way her packmates fan out with their little armor pieces during teamfights in the bot lane specifically just adds so much to the visual read.

Senna rounds it out as the ranged option. She brings a different silhouette and gameplay pattern which keeps the line from being all melee all the time. Thematic fit is the weakest of the three if I'm being honest but the skin quality itself is solid Epic-tier work. Her cannon getting the armored treatment looks great and the mist wraith collection animation with Warhound particles is a nice touch. (Sidebar for Senna mains: the auto attack animation cancel timing feels identical to base, no pay-to-lose here.)

Who should Riot add next? Kindred is the obvious answer. Wolf is literally right there. Volibear would work too. Maybe Rek'Sai for the burrowing war beast angle. Honestly I'd take a Warhound Rengar just for the bush-leap animation potential.

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

Clean and simple here. All 3 Warhounds skins sit at Epic tier. No Legendaries, no Ultimates, no Mythics. Straight Epic across the board.

That means you're looking at 1350 RP each if they're standard Epic pricing. For what you get, the new models, textures, VFX, sound effects, and recall animations, thats the expected package. Nothing more, nothing less. Might be overthinking it but I almost prefer when a skinline is all one tier. Means Riot allocated roughly equal effort across all three instead of dumping 80% of the budget into one Legendary and leaving the Epics feeling half-baked.

Grabbing all three would run you around 4050 RP total without any bundle discount. Bundle pricing usually knocks that down. Fair deal if you play all three champions. If you only play one of them, 1350 RP for a single Epic is standard and these Warhounds skins deliver on that price point. No complaints.

The Epic tier works for this skinline's scope. A Legendary Warhound Warwick with new voice lines growling battle commands would be incredible but what we got at Epic is still well-executed. The particle work especially feels above-average for 1350 RP. Played a game last Tuesday night where I ran all abilities in practice tool side by side with base Warwick and the visual upgrade is significant enough that it doesnt feel like just a texture swap.

Warhounds Skinline - Your Questions Answered

How many Warhounds skins are there?

3 Warhounds skins total right now. Warwick, Senna, and Naafiri make up the full roster. Small line but every pick fits the armored beast theme well. Not sure if Riot plans to expand it but with only three there's definitely room to grow if the sales numbers justify it.

What is the best Warhounds skin?

Warhound Warwick takes it for me. The thematic fit is perfect, he's literally a war wolf. VFX on his R suppression and W blood trail look incredible with the metallic treatment. Naafiri is a close second because of how the packmate armor details add visual density. Senna is solid but third.

Which champions have Warhounds skins?

Warwick, Senna, and Naafiri. All three lean into the feral predator aesthetic differently. Warwick is the frontline bruiser, Naafiri the assassin with her armored packmates, and Senna brings the ranged damage role. Each champion covers a different lane and playstyle which keeps the line diverse.

Does Warhounds have Legendary skins?

No Legendary skins in the Warhounds line. All three are Epic tier at 1350 RP. Honestly a Legendary Warhound Warwick with new voice lines would be amazing but what we got at Epic quality still delivers strong VFX and model work. Maybe if the line expands Riot will tier up.

When did the Warhounds skinline release?

Warhounds dropped as a batch release with all three skins launching together. It's one of the newer skinlines in the catalog. The simultaneous release meant all three splashes and VFX sets were designed as a cohesive package which you can tell from the consistent color palette and particle style.

Are Warhounds skins worth buying?

If you main any of the three champions, yeah. Warhound Warwick is easy top 3 in his skin catalog. Naafiri's is arguably her best skin period given her limited options. Senna has more competition but the Warhound version holds up well. At 1350 RP each the value is solid for Epic tier quality.

Do Warhounds skins have chromas?

Chroma availability varies by skin in the line. Check each individual Warhound skin page for the full chroma breakdown with color names and counts. Epic skins at 1350 RP typically launch with chroma sets but not always. The armored aesthetic lends itself well to color variations though.

Will Riot make more Warhounds skins?

No official word from Riot on expanding the line but there's obvious candidates. Kindred with Wolf in war armor writes itself. Volibear and Rengar would fit the beast-warrior concept naturally. Depends on how well the initial batch sold and whether the theme resonates with the player base long-term. I think it should.
