Program Skins

All 6 skins in the Program skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Program skin in League of Legends.

Program is one of those skinlines that I think Riot genuinely forgot about. Six skins released between 2013 and 2018, all Epic tier, all 1350 RP, and then just... silence. The whole concept is digital entities living inside some kind of sentient AI network, Tron meets League basically. I've been running Program skins in ranked since season 4 and the aesthetic still holds up better than most people give it credit for. Not gonna lie, the line deserved way more attention than it got. Clean geometric VFX, holographic overlays, that distinct cyan-and-magenta palette. Riot had something here and just walked away from it.

What Sets Program Apart on the Rift

The visual signature of Program is hard to miss once you know what to look for. Every skin in the line shares this wireframe digital overlay on abilities, like the champion's spells are literally code executing in real time. The color palette sits mostly in cool cyans, electric blues, and sharp magentas against dark metallic base models. Think circuit board aesthetics but not in a cheesy way.

Closest comparison is PROJECT, and I get why people confuse them. Both are tech-themed. Both have the futuristic armor look. But PROJECT leans into augmented human warriors, cyberpunk vibes, heavy industrial design. Program goes full digital. These champions arent augmented humans, they're programs. Software entities. The distinction matters because it changes how the VFX read in game. PROJECT particles feel like energy weapons. Program particles feel like data streams and holographic projections.

The splash arts across the line share a unified look too. Dark backgrounds with glowing digital elements, matrix-style data cascading in the background. (Random aside: the Program LeBlanc splash was my desktop wallpaper for like six months back in 2018.) Each champion gets rendered as this sleek chrome-and-light construct. The splashes feel cohesive in a way that some bigger skinlines struggle with.

Could be wrong here but I think the sound design is what really ties Program together. Every ability proc has this crisp digital chirp to it, almost like old modem sounds but cleaned up and modernized. Recall animations across the line all feature some kind of digital dissolution effect, the champion breaking apart into data streams before reassembling. Its consistent without being repetitive, which is harder to pull off than it sounds.

Where Program falls short compared to something like Star Guardian or Coven is the lack of a narrative throughline. There's lore snippets suggesting these are AI programs that gained sentience, but Riot never developed it. Six skins, no event, no cinematic, no story. Just vibes. Good vibes, but still.

Best Program Skins Worth Locking In

Program Camille is the standout. Full stop. Released November 2017, and I remember spamming her in Diamond that whole preseason. The way her legs render as holographic blades instead of the usual steel is genuinely creative. Her Hookshot reads cleaner with the digital trail, and the Hextech Ultimatum zone becomes this hexagonal data cage. Might be overthinking it but I think Camille's base kit translates better to the digital theme than any other champion in the line.

Program LeBlanc sits at number two for me. Dropped in March 2018, one of her better skins at the time. The clone mechanic with Program is chef's kiss because the digital copy actually looks like a program duplicating itself. Makes thematic sense. Her Distortion leaves these data fragments behind and the Ethereal Chains become literal code tethers. Been maining LeBlanc on and off since season 6 and this skin stayed in my rotation for a solid two years.

iBlitzcrank holds a special place because it kicked the whole line off back in 2013. Yeah, 2013. The "i" prefix instead of "Program" dates it immediately, very Apple-era naming. But the skin itself still looks decent. His Rocket Grab becomes this digital lasso and the Power Fist has a satisfying holographic impact effect. Not the most complex Epic by modern standards but it set the template.

Program Lissandra is solid but not spectacular. Released September 2016 and honestly she fits the theme naturally since her base kit already has that crystalline geometry thing going on. The ice becomes data constructs. Ring of Frost turns into a digital perimeter scan. Works well enough. Played maybe 40 games with it that season.

Real talk though, Program Nami is the weakest entry. Not because the skin is bad per se but because Nami's flowing water animations clash with the rigid digital aesthetic. Water wants to be organic and Program wants to be geometric. The compromise looks a bit awkward in practice. Aqua Prison as a data sphere is fine but the Tidal Wave ult loses its weight when its just a wall of code. Kinda feels like Riot was running out of champion candidates by that point.

Program Soraka lands in the middle. Her Astral Infusion healing as data transfer is clever. Wish and Equinox both read cleanly in the digital style. I've seen maybe a dozen Program Sorakas in my games total across all seasons, which is a shame because the skin is genuinely underrated for support mains.

The Champion Roster and Who's Missing

Six champions: LeBlanc, Soraka, Blitzcrank, Lissandra, Camille, and Nami. Not gonna lie, the roster is weird. You've got two supports, two mids, a top laner, and Blitzcrank who lives in bot lane. No ADC. No jungler. No assassin unless you count LeBlanc which I guess you should.

Camille and Lissandra are the strongest thematic fits. Camille's precision-based kit translates perfectly into digital constructs. Everything about her screams "I am an optimized program." Lissandra's geometric ice spells map onto data visualization naturally. These two feel like they were designed for the line.

LeBlanc works because deception and illusions pair well with the idea of programs and digital clones. Soraka is a stretch but the "healing as data transfer" angle saves it. Blitzcrank is the obvious choice since hes already a robot. Maybe too obvious, which is why I think they leaned into the Apple product naming with iBlitzcrank instead of just calling it Program Blitzcrank.

Nami feels forced. I said it. Water champion in a digital skinline is a hard sell and they didnt quite stick the landing.

Who should Riot add if they ever revisit this line? Orianna is the most obvious miss. She's literally a mechanical being, her Ball could be a drone program, the Command abilities would translate flawlessly. Viktor is right there too, his whole identity is the evolution of technology. Maybe Vel'Koz with data beam lasers. (Sidebar: an Orianna Program skin has been on my wishlist since like season 7 and at this point I've accepted it's never happening.)

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

Every single Program skin is Epic tier at 1350 RP. All six of them. No Legendary, no Standard, no Mythic. Just Epic across the board. This is actually unusual for a skinline that spans five years from 2013 to 2018. Most lines that old have at least one Legendary or a couple budget options.

The uniform pricing means you know exactly what you're getting with any Program skin: new model, new VFX, new recall animation, base voice lines. No new VO for any of them. Standard Epic package. For 1350 RP each you get solid value especially on the later releases like Camille and LeBlanc where Epic quality had improved significantly from 2013 standards.

iBlitzcrank at 1350 RP from 2013 shows its age compared to Program Camille at 1350 from 2017. Same price, noticeable quality gap. Fair warning, if you're buying iBlitzcrank expecting 2024 Epic quality you'll be disappointed. It was good for its time. It's fine now. Not great.

Total cost to collect all six: 8100 RP before any sales. That's roughly $55-60 depending on which RP bundle you grab. For a complete skinline collection thats actually reasonable. Some single Ultimate skin costs more than that. Been thinking about completing the set myself honestly, still missing Nami and Soraka from it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Program Skins

How many Program skins are there?

Six total. iBlitzcrank kicked it off in 2013, then Lissandra in 2016, Soraka in 2016, Camille in 2017, LeBlanc in 2018, and Nami in 2018. All Epic tier. Riot hasn't added a new one since 2018, so the line looks finished unless they surprise us. Not holding my breath on that one.

What is the best Program skin?

Program Camille and it's not particularly close. Her kit translates perfectly into the digital theme. The Hookshot trail, the Hextech Ultimatum cage, the holographic blade legs. Everything clicks. Program LeBlanc is a solid second, especially the clone interactions. Personal pick, been running Camille with it in ranked since it dropped.

Which champions have Program skins?

LeBlanc, Soraka, Blitzcrank (as iBlitzcrank), Lissandra, Camille, and Nami. Mix of supports and mids mostly. No jungler or ADC in the line. Camille and Lissandra fit the theme best in my opinion. Nami is the weakest thematic match since water and digital dont mesh great.

Does Program have Legendary skins?

Nope. All six Program skins are Epic at 1350 RP. No Legendary, no Ultimate, no Mythic. Uniform tier across the whole line. Honestly think a Program Legendary with new voice lines as an AI voice would have been incredible but Riot never went there. Missed opportunity for real.

When did the Program skinline release?

Started in 2013 with iBlitzcrank. Then Riot came back with Lissandra and Soraka in 2016, added Camille late 2017, and finished with LeBlanc and Nami in 2018. Five year run. No new entries since then. Feels like the line got shelved when PROJECT took over as Riot's main tech skinline.

Are Program skins worth buying?

Depends on the champion. Program Camille and LeBlanc are genuinely good 1350 RP purchases with clean VFX and strong thematic execution. iBlitzcrank shows its age from 2013 but works if you like the retro Apple vibe. Nami is a skip unless you collect everything. At 1350 each, wait for Your Shop discounts if you're on the fence.

Do Program skins have chromas?

Some of them do. Not all six got chromas though. The later releases like LeBlanc and Nami picked up chroma sets. Worth checking each skin individually since Riot wasnt consistent about adding them to the older Program skins. Obsidian chromas on the Program line look particularly clean if they're available for your champion.

Will Riot make more Program skins?

Maybe but I doubt it. Last Program skin was 2018 and Riot has moved toward PROJECT and Empyrean for their tech-themed lines. Could be wrong here but six years without a new entry usually means a line is done. Would love to see Program Orianna or Viktor but I'm not expecting it. The line feels complete as is.
