Zyra Skins

Zyra sits in this weird spot where she's never been the most popular champion on the Rift but the players who do main her are absolutely locked in. Been playing her support on and off since season 4, and honestly her skin catalog has gone from "meh, pick the least ugly one" to genuinely stacked over the years. Twelve skins total now, and I think at least four of them are worth your money. Not bad for a plant mage that Riot forgets exists for stretches at a time.

How Zyra's Skin Collection Grew Over the Years

Zyra launched back in 2012 with Wildfire as her release skin. Standard tier, 750 RP. For a while that was basically it unless you count SKT T1 Zyra from the 2013 Worlds bundle, which, real talk, looks dated now. The early years were rough for Zyra mains cosmetically speaking. Two Standard skins and a Worlds skin that aged like milk left out on a summer day in Texas.

Things started shifting around 2017 when Dragon Sorceress dropped. That was the first Epic tier skin she got and it actually felt like Riot remembered she existed. Then Coven happened in 2018. Game changer. Not gonna lie, Coven Zyra single-handedly justified years of waiting. The skin got its own Prestige variant too, the only Mythic tier skin in her catalog.

From 2019 onward Riot kept a more consistent pace. Crystal Rose, Crime City Nightmare, Mythmaker, Street Demons, Blood Moon. Nine of her twelve skins are Epic tier at 1350 RP which tells you something about where Riot positions her. No Legendary. No Ultimate. Just solid mid-range skins with good particle work. Kinda feels like they know Zyra mains will buy whatever drops because theres no premium option to hold out for.

The newest addition is Spirit Blossom Zyra from 2025. Twelve skins spanning 2012 to 2025, thirteen years of content. For a champion with her pickrate thats actually decent. Compare that to someone like Ornn who had to wait forever for a second skin. Zyra mains eat well enough. Not gourmet but you wont starve.

Best Zyra Skins Worth Your RP

Coven Zyra. Full stop. If you play one game of Zyra with this skin you'll understand why it shows up in basically every tier list. The plants transform into these dark thorny constructs that fit the gothic witch fantasy perfectly. Her Q spawns feel menacing, the W plants have actual presence on screen, and her E root visual is clean enough that you can track it in chaotic teamfights. Been spamming this in Diamond for multiple seasons and I still dont get tired of the plant models. The recall animation where she sits on the thorn throne? (random aside: I've had teammates compliment this recall in post-game chat more than once.) Worth every bit of 1350 RP.

Prestige Coven Zyra takes the base Coven and dips it in white and gold. Mythic tier so you cant just buy it outright. Had to grind for this one back when it released and honestly the white plant models look incredible against the Rift's green. The prestige version feels cleaner in lane because the lighter color palette makes your plant placement more readable. Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animation on plants feels slightly snappier too, even though I know it's identical mechanically.

Haunted Zyra deserves the number three spot. Trick-or-Treat skinline, 1350 RP, and the pumpkin plants are just fun. Not every skin needs to be dark and edgy. Sometimes you want to throw pumpkin seeds in bot lane and watch your ADC ping your plants because they thought it was a ward. The orange and purple color scheme reads well and her ult zone with the Halloween vibe is distinctive. Played maybe 80 games with this one last October. Seasonal pick for sure.

Dragon Sorceress rounds out my top picks. The dragon egg plants are creative and her E looks like a serpentine fire trail. Might be overthinking it but the skin feels like what Zyra would look like if she was a Shyvana main who found botany. The splash is gorgeous too.

Crystal Rose deserves a mention. The elegant aesthetic is the polar opposite of Coven and thats exactly why it works. Pink crystal plants, delicate VFX on her Q, and the ult zone blooms into roses. If Coven is the skin you lock in when you want to intimidate, Crystal Rose is what you pick when you want style points. Seen a few one-tricks alternate between the two depending on mood.

Skinlines and Where Zyra Fits

Zyra shows up in eight different skinlines across her twelve skins. The Coven line is her home. Not even close. The dark enchantress fantasy maps perfectly onto a champion whose entire kit revolves around summoning plant minions and controlling zones. Coven Zyra plus Prestige Coven means two skins in that universe, and both are top tier.

Crystal Rose works as the light counterpart to Coven. Same champion, opposite energy. Crime City Nightmare is interesting because the noir gangster theme doesn't scream "plant mage" on paper but Riot made it work with the tendril aesthetics. The plants look like they belong in a haunted speakeasy. (sidebar for support mains: the Crime City Nightmare skin has some of the best E visuals for tracking roots through minion waves, genuinely useful in lane.)

Mythmaker from the Lunar New Year event is fine. Serviceable. The red and gold palette is pretty but it blends into a crowded skinline. Street Demons is newer and leans into a graffiti punk vibe that feels fresh for her. Blood Moon fits thematically since Zyra already has that sacrificial priestess energy in her base kit.

The weakest thematic fit is probably SKT T1. Worlds skins from 2013 just look rough by modern standards. Small model changes, minimal particle work. It's a collector piece not a daily driver. Infernal through Wildfire is okay for what it was at launch but the 750 RP Standard tier shows its age hard in season 14 and beyond.

Budget Picks vs Premium Options

Here's the thing with Zyra. She has no Legendary. No 1820 RP option. Her ceiling is Epic at 1350 and one Mythic Prestige. So the "premium vs budget" conversation is really about 750 RP Standards versus 1350 RP Epics.

Wildfire Zyra at 750 is your cheapest option. Fire themed plants, basic model swap, no new particles worth mentioning. If you're climbing through ranked and just want something other than base skin, it works. Not gonna lie though, the jump from 750 to 1350 on Zyra is massive. Every Epic skin she has comes with new plant models, new ability VFX, new recall. Thats a lot of value at the 1350 price point.

Best value pick? Haunted Zyra. 1350 RP, distinctive silhouette, fun thematic, solid particles. It competes with skins twice the price on other champions. If you can only buy one Zyra skin and money is tight, Haunted gives you the most personality per RP spent. Coven is the technically superior skin but Haunted has charm that's hard to quantify. Played both extensively last season in my Diamond games and I kept coming back to Haunted more often than I expected.

Fair warning, if you're waiting for a Legendary Zyra skin you might be waiting a long time. Riot hasn't shown any signs of giving her one. The Mythic Prestige Coven is the closest thing to a premium offering and that requires event grinding or Mythic Essence. For now 1350 is the sweet spot and honestly Zyra's Epics punch hard enough that a Legendary almost feels unnecessary. Almost.
