Taric Skins
7 skins availableTaric is one of those champions where the skin catalog tells you exactly how Riot's design philosophy shifted over the years. Seven skins spanning 2009 to 2025. Not a huge roster compared to someone like Lux or Ezreal, but honestly? The quality per skin ratio here is solid. Been playing Taric on and off since his rework back in season 6, and the guy went from a meme pick to one of the most satisfying supports to lock in. His skins reflect that glow-up pretty clearly.

3 skinsHow Taric's Skin Collection Shaped Up Over the Years
Seven skins total. Three Standards and four Epics. No Legendary, no Ultimate, no Mythic. Kinda feels like Riot forgot about him for long stretches and then remembered he exists every few years. The oldest skin is Emerald Taric from 2009, back when League skins were basically recolors with maybe a new texture if you were lucky. The newest is Fatebreaker Taric dropping in 2025, which honestly caught me off guard because I wasnt expecting Riot to give him anything this year.
The thing about Taric's catalog is there's no filler Legendary to anchor it. Every Epic sits at 1350 RP and every Standard sits around 520 RP. Clean pricing. No weird 975 RP middle ground skins that feel like they should be Epic but aren't. That simplicity actually works in his favor because you're never second-guessing tiers.
From 2009 to roughly 2015 he got the older batch. Emerald, Armor of the Fifth Age, Bloodstone. These were pre-rework skins that got visual updates when Riot rebuilt his kit. Then a gap. Pool Party came through and changed the conversation entirely. After that it's been a slow drip: Taric Luminshield, Space Groove, and now Fatebreaker. Maybe one skin every couple years. Not great for Taric mains who want variety, but each release since Pool Party has been genuinely worth the RP.
(Random thought: Taric might have the smallest skin count of any champion released in 2009. Could be wrong here but I cant think of another original roster champ with only seven.)
Best Taric Skins You Should Actually Care About
Pool Party Taric. Full stop. This is the one. Been running this in ranked for seasons and the animations just feel right. The Q heal has this water splash effect that reads cleaner than base, and his E stun shows the pool noodle lane marker that somehow makes the hitbox easier to track for your ADC. Not sure if it's just me but my lane partners dodge into the stun less when I'm using this skin versus base. The recall animation where he's flexing on a surfboard is peak Taric energy. 1350 RP well spent for mains.
Taric Luminshield from the Rift Quest line is the sleeper pick. The whole RPG paladin fantasy fits Taric better than almost any other champion in the game. His W shield has this golden tome effect, and the ult invulnerability reads like a proper holy barrier. Played maybe 150 games with this one during season 11. The splash art goes hard too. If you're into the DnD aesthetic this is your skin, no contest.
Space Groove Taric surprised me. Not gonna lie, I wrote it off when it was announced because Space Groove as a skinline felt too goofy for a champion who's supposed to be this cosmic protector. But in game? The disco VFX on his abilities actually slap. His passive auto attacks have this funky rhythm visual that makes weaving autos between spells feel more satisfying. The E stun in particular has these groovy particle trails. 1350 RP and it earns every point.
Fatebreaker Taric is the newest addition from 2025. Still forming my opinion on this one honestly. Took it into ranked for about 30 games last month. The Fatemakers and Fatebreakers skinline gives him this dark cosmic knight vibe that's a departure from his usual radiant protector energy. His R invulnerability has a completely different color palette here, deep reds and blacks instead of gold. Looks menacing. Might be the best "evil Taric" fantasy you can get.
Emerald Taric deserves a mention even at 520 RP. Yeah its old. Yeah it's basically a green recolor. But there's something about the simplicity that works for this champion. Sometimes in my Diamond games I'll rock Emerald just because it's clean and doesn't distract. Plus at that price point you really cant complain.
Skinline Breakdown and Where Taric Fits
Taric appears across a solid spread of skinlines for a champion with only seven skins. Pool Party, Rift Quest, Space Groove, Bloodstone, Fatemakers and Fatebreakers. That's five distinct thematic directions not counting the older standalone skins.
Pool Party is the obvious best fit. Taric's entire character is about being this beautiful, radiant, gem-obsessed knight. Put him on a beach and he becomes the most natural thing in the world. The confidence, the physique, the gems replaced with water effects. It writes itself. Real talk though, I think Riot knew this was a home run when they made it because the skin quality is noticeably above average for a 1350 RP release from that era.
Rift Quest as a skinline is underrated across the board. Taric Luminshield specifically captures the paladin archetype so cleanly that it almost feels like the skinline was designed around him. His kit is literally heal, shield, stun, invulnerability. That's a paladin. (Sidebar for any tabletop players: if you've ever played a Devotion Paladin in 5e, this skin is that energy but in League.)
Space Groove is the wildcard. The skinline leans heavily into retro disco and funk. Taric's animations carry the theme better than I expected. Bloodstone is from an older era and reads more like a dark fantasy recolor. Fine for what it is. Fatemakers and Fatebreakers is the newest skinline in his catalog and it goes for a corrupted cosmic warrior angle. Two very different vibes between Fatebreaker and something like Pool Party, which honestly keeps his collection feeling diverse even at seven skins.
Budget Picks vs Premium: What's Worth Your RP
No Legendary tier skins for Taric. Everything caps at Epic 1350 RP. This actually makes the budget conversation simple. You're choosing between 520 RP Standards and 1350 RP Epics.
Best value pick is Emerald Taric at 520 RP if you just want something different from base without spending much. It's a green recolor with updated textures from his rework. Nothing fancy. Gets the job done. Armor of the Fifth Age is in the same Standard bracket and it's the meme skin, the pink gem knight. Been spamming that one in normals with friends just for the comedy factor since like season 7.
For premium, Pool Party at 1350 is the safest bet. If you main Taric and can only buy one skin, that's the one. Luminshield is the second choice. Space Groove if you want something flashier. Fatebreaker if you want the newest release with modern VFX standards. Honestly all four Epics are good. There's no trap purchase in Taric's catalog which is more than I can say for a lot of champions. Fair warning though, if you're expecting Legendary-level new voice lines or animation overhauls, you wont find that here. Every Taric skin uses base VO. Standard for Epics but worth mentioning if voice lines matter to you.
The entire collection runs you about 7,370 RP if you bought everything at full price. That's less than what some champions cost just for their Legendary plus a couple Epics. Taric is a cheap champion to fully kit out. Might be the best argument for collecting all seven honestly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many skins does Taric have?
Seven total. Three Standard tier skins and four Epics. No Legendary or Ultimate in his catalog. For a champion who's been around since 2009 that's a pretty small number, but the quality per skin is above average. Each Epic genuinely brings something different to the table.
What is the best Taric skin?
Pool Party Taric. Not even close in my opinion. The water VFX on his abilities read clean, the recall is peak Taric energy, and the beach aesthetic fits his character perfectly. Been my go-to Taric skin for years across multiple seasons of ranked. 1350 RP and it earns every point.
What is the cheapest Taric skin?
Emerald Taric at 520 RP. It's a Standard tier recolor, green gems instead of blue. Simple change but honestly it looks clean on the Rift. If you dont want to spend 1350 on an Epic this is a solid pickup. Armor of the Fifth Age is the same price and thats the meme pink one.
Does Taric have a Legendary skin?
Nope. No Legendary, no Ultimate, no Mythic. His catalog caps at Epic tier which means 1350 RP is the most you'll spend on a single Taric skin. Kinda surprising for a champion from 2009 but his pick rate has never been high enough for Riot to justify a Legendary I think.
What skinlines is Taric in?
Pool Party, Rift Quest (as Taric Luminshield), Space Groove, Bloodstone, and Fatemakers and Fatebreakers. Good variety for seven skins. Pool Party and Rift Quest fit his fantasy the best in my experience. Space Groove is the fun wildcard pick. Fatebreaker is the newest and goes darker than his usual vibe.
Does Taric have chromas?
Some of his Epic skins have chromas available. Pool Party and Space Groove both got chroma sets when they released. If you're buying one of those skins its worth checking the chroma options because a couple of them look better than the base color scheme. Personal favorite varies by skin.
When was Taric's last skin released?
Fatebreaker Taric in 2025. Part of the Fatemakers and Fatebreakers skinline. Took me by surprise honestly because Taric goes years between releases sometimes. The skin has a dark cosmic knight aesthetic that's different from his usual radiant protector energy. Worth checking out if you main him.
Is Taric worth buying skins for?
If you play him regularly, absolutely. His Epic skins all deliver solid VFX changes and his kit is visually satisfying to begin with. The whole collection is cheap compared to most champions since theres no Legendary tax. Even one Epic like Pool Party transforms the experience. For occasional Taric players, maybe just grab Emerald at 520 and call it a day.
