Kha'Zix

Kha'Zix Skins

8 skins available

Kha'Zix has one of those skin catalogs that feels small until you actually look at it. Eight skins across twelve years, and honestly most of them hit. Been playing this bug since season 3, mostly as a jungle one-trick through Gold and Diamond, and I've rotated through nearly every skin he has. Not sure if it's just me but Kha'Zix consistently gets skins that match his predator vibe better than most champions. No filler comedy skins, no forced cute aesthetics. Just a void assassin getting the treatment he deserves. The collection is tight, focused, and almost every option feels worth locking in.

How Kha'Zix's Skin Collection Shaped Up

Eight skins total. Might not sound like much compared to Lux or Ezreal, but for a jungle assassin released in 2012, thats a solid catalog. Two Standard tier skins, five Epics at 1350 RP, and one Mythic. No Legendaries, which I think is a crime at this point, but Riot hasn't gotten around to it.

The timeline stretches from 2012 all the way to 2024. Mecha Kha'Zix dropped first and set the bar high immediately. Then you got Guardian of the Sands and Death Blossom filling in the 975 RP bracket. Real talk though, those two Standard skins are from a different era of League cosmetics. The model changes are minimal compared to what Epic skins deliver now.

Dark Star came in and gave Kha'Zix his first truly elite skin. Worlds 2018 followed that up with esports flavor. Odyssey added the sci-fi angle. Lunar Guardian showed up for the Lunar Revel event. And then Crystalis Indomitus closed things out in 2024 as his Mythic exclusive. (Random aside: the fact that his newest skin is loot-only still annoys me.)

The pace works out to roughly one skin every year and a half. Not bad. Five of his eight skins sit at the Epic tier, which means you're spending 1350 RP for most of the good stuff. Could be wrong here but I think the next Kha'Zix skin needs to be Legendary. He's overdue for new voice lines and a full animation overhaul. Been saying this since like season 11.

Best Skins for Kha'Zix

Okay let me break down the top picks because Kha'Zix mains argue about this constantly in every thread I've seen.

Dark Star Kha'Zix is the one. Full stop. The cosmic void aesthetic just works perfectly on an isolation hunter. His Q feels heavier with the dark matter particles, the W sends out these purple star fragments that read so clean in teamfights, and the evolved wings on E look like a cosmic predator diving the backline. Played maybe 150 games with this one across season 8 and 9. The recall animation where he consumes a star is clean. 1350 RP well spent for mains.

Mecha Kha'Zix still holds up surprisingly well for a 2012 skin. The transformations when you evolve abilities feel mechanical and satisfying. His evolved R stealth has that predator-movie shimmer. Q extends a blade arm. Feels like playing a Gundam bug. I keep coming back to this one in ARAM specifically, dont ask me why. Something about the sound design in that chaotic environment.

Crystalis Indomitus Kha'Zix is the Mythic tier flex. Loot exclusive so you either roll it from chests or you dont have it. The crystal formations on his body shift as he evolves, which is a nice touch. Might be overthinking it but the evolved E leap trail looks like shattered glass catching light. Hard to recommend buying orbs specifically for this, but if you pull it? Massive W.

Odyssey Kha'Zix brings the sci-fi energy with a sleek spacesuit redesign. The Q slash has this energy blade effect and the W fires projectile bolts instead of spikes. Solid for the price. Worlds 2018 Kha'Zix is the esports commemorative pick. Crown motifs, golden accents, championship recall. If you watched the 2018 Worlds meta where Kha'Zix was permabanned in jungle, this skin hits different with that context.

Skinlines and Themes That Fit Kha'Zix

Eight skinlines and honestly the hit rate is high. Dark Star is the obvious best fit. A void creature hunting isolated targets in a cosmic horror setting? Thematic overlap is massive. The entire Dark Star line revolves around consumption and corruption, which is literally Kha'Zix's lore.

Mecha works because Kha'Zix already evolves. Slapping mechanical transformation on top of biological evolution makes for a natural parallel. Not gonna lie, when Mecha dropped in 2012 it was one of the first skins that made me think Riot understood what makes a champion's fantasy click.

Odyssey puts him in space explorer territory. Fits better than you'd think. The isolation mechanic translates well to "alien predator hunting crew members on a spaceship" vibes. Very Alien franchise. Crystalis Indomitus is newer and leans into the mineral/crystal aesthetic. Kha'Zix's carapace becoming crystalline structure works visually even if the thematic connection is looser.

Guardian of the Sands and Death Blossom are the weaker fits in my opinion. Guardian of the Sands turns him into a scarab-adjacent creature which is fine but feels generic. Death Blossom goes floral and its cool as a concept but the execution at 975 RP is limited. Lunar Guardian rounds things out with the Lunar Revel treatment. Looks good in the splash, plays fine in game. Middle of the pack. (Sidebar for jungle mains specifically: the Lunar Guardian Q sound is oddly satisfying for clearing camps late at night around 1 AM when you're grinding ranked.)

Budget vs Premium Picks

The budget options for Kha'Zix are Death Blossom and Guardian of the Sands at 975 RP each. Between the two, Guardian of the Sands has the better model changes. The golden scarab armor reads cleaner on the Rift than the floral Death Blossom look. If you're climbing through Gold and dont want to drop 1350 on a jungle pick you might swap off next patch, Guardian is the move.

For premium though, Dark Star at 1350 RP is the best value skin Kha'Zix has. New particles on every ability, solid recall, and a model that genuinely feels like a different champion. Kinda feels like Riot put Legendary effort into an Epic price point with that one.

Mecha at the same 1350 price tag is the runner up. The evolution transformations give it replay value that most Epics lack. Worlds 2018 and Odyssey are both competent 1350 RP skins but neither reaches the heights of Dark Star or Mecha. Fair prices for what they offer, just not S-tier.

Crystalis Indomitus sits in Mythic territory so you cant buy it directly. Either you craft it through Hextech or you get lucky. Worth keeping if you roll it but I wouldnt chase it over having Dark Star as your daily driver.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Kha'Zix have?

Eight skins total as of 2024. Two Standard tier at 975 RP, five Epics at 1350, and one Mythic (Crystalis Indomitus). Not the biggest collection but solid quality across the board. Been playing him since season 3 and honestly there's no skin I'd call straight up bad.

What is the best Kha'Zix skin?

Dark Star Kha'Zix. Top pick for mains, no contest in my ranked games. The cosmic void particles on Q and W look incredible and the evolved wings on E are the best leap animation he has. 1350 RP. Hard to argue against it.

What is the cheapest Kha'Zix skin?

Death Blossom Kha'Zix and Guardian of the Sands Kha'Zix both sit at 975 RP. Standard tier so you're getting model and texture changes mostly. Guardian of the Sands is the better pick between the two if you're on a budget. Cleaner look on the Rift.

Does Kha'Zix have a Legendary skin?

No Legendary skin yet. His highest tier is Mythic with Crystalis Indomitus. Feels like an oversight honestly. Kha'Zix has been in the game since 2012 and his evolution mechanic is perfect for a Legendary with new voice lines per evolution. Maybe next season.

What skinlines is Kha'Zix in?

Eight different skinlines: Mecha, Guardian of the Sands, Death Blossom, Dark Star, World Championship, Odyssey, Lunar Revel, and Crystalis Indomitus. Dark Star and Mecha fit his predator fantasy the best. Pretty diverse range for a void jungle assassin.

Does Kha'Zix have chromas?

Some of his Epic skins have chromas available. Dark Star and Odyssey both got chroma packs. If you already own those skins, chromas add decent variety for cheap. Obsidian Dark Star is my personal favorite, makes the cosmic effects pop harder against the dark shell.

When was Kha'Zix's last skin released?

Crystalis Indomitus Kha'Zix in 2024. Mythic tier, so its loot exclusive. Before that was Lunar Guardian which dropped during a Lunar Revel event. The gap between skins has been roughly a year to eighteen months, so maybe something new in 2025.

Is Kha'Zix worth buying skins for?

If you jungle and play him regularly, absolutely. Dark Star alone justifies investing in his catalog. His evolution mechanic means skins get visual updates mid-game as you level, which adds value most champions dont have. Spammed him through two full seasons in Diamond and never got tired of Dark Star.
