Ekko

Ekko Skins

12 skins available

Ekko's skin catalog is one of those collections where Riot clearly figured out the champion's aesthetic early and just kept cooking. Twelve skins since 2015, and honestly most of them land. Not every champion gets that treatment. Been maining Ekko on and off since season 6, dipped back into him hard during season 12, and I've cycled through probably eight of these skins in ranked. Some champions have fifteen skins and maybe three worth using. Ekko sits at twelve and I'd say seven or eight genuinely feel good to lock in. Thats a solid ratio for any champion in League right now.

How Ekko's Skin Collection Evolved Over the Years

Ekko launched in 2015 with Sandstorm and Academy dropping that same year. Real talk though, those early skins were fine for the era but they feel dated now. Academy Ekko was the budget option at 750 RP and it shows. Simple outfit swap, school uniform aesthetic, no new particles. Sandstorm had a bit more going on with the Guardian of the Sands theme but still nothing crazy by modern standards.

The collection started picking up steam around 2016-2017. PROJECT: Ekko brought him into the cyberpunk lineup and SKT T1 Ekko came from the Worlds championship series. That's when Riot figured out that Ekko's kit translates beautifully into flashy skin themes. His W zone, the chronobreak ult, the phase dive E - all of it gives artists so much to work with visually.

Then 2019 happened and True Damage Ekko dropped. Legendary tier. Complete game changer for the champion's cosmetic lineup. Felt like Riot finally gave Ekko the prestige treatment he deserved. From there the releases kept coming steady: Pulsefire in 2020, the Arcane tie-in skins, Star Guardian in 2022 with a Prestige variant. Two Mythic skins in the collection now which is pretty rare for a champion with only twelve total.

The tier breakdown tells the story. Seven Epics form the backbone, one Legendary that absolutely delivers, two Mythics for the collectors, and two Standards from the early days. Price range runs 750 to 1820 RP for the purchasable ones. Might be overthinking it but I think Ekko has one of the better skin-to-quality ratios in the entire game. No real stinkers in the bunch, just some that are clearly a tier above the rest.

Best Ekko Skins Worth Your RP

True Damage Ekko. Full stop. This Legendary skin is the reason people pick up Ekko in the first place sometimes. Seen it happen in my Diamond games more than once - someone gets the skin from a chest, suddenly they're an Ekko one-trick for three weeks. The hip-hop aesthetic with the hoodie, the bat transformed into a turntable-inspired weapon, the graffiti-style VFX on every ability. His Q throws out this neon disc that just looks clean sailing through a minion wave. The W zone has a completely unique animation, R sends him back with this whole musical rewind effect. New voice lines too. (Random aside: the recall animation where he scratches a record is still my favorite recall in the entire game.) Worth every bit of 1820 RP if you play him even semi-regularly.

PROJECT: Ekko sits right behind it for me. Been running this skin in ranked since it came out and it still holds up. The cybernetic design fits his time-manipulation theme perfectly. Q particles have that digital fragmenting look, the W zone renders as a holographic dome, and the ult trail leaves behind data streams. All for 1350 RP. Could be wrong here but I think this is the best value Ekko skin in the shop right now.

Star Guardian Ekko surprised me honestly. Wasnt expecting the magical boy aesthetic to work on him but Riot pulled it off. The familiar and the transformed weapon design lean into the Star Guardian universe hard. His E dash leaves sparkle trails, the W zone becomes this crystalline barrier. Played maybe 40 games with it last season and it grew on me fast.

Prestige Star Guardian and Breakout True Damage occupy the Mythic tier. Collector pieces. Both look incredible but you cant just buy them outright. Prestige Star Guardian has that white-and-gold treatment that works well on Ekko's silhouette. Breakout True Damage goes harder on the streetwear angle. If you managed to grab either during their availability window, you're sitting on premium cosmetics that most Ekko players will never own.

Pulsefire Ekko deserves a mention too. The timeline-cop fantasy with the futuristic suit and time-rift VFX on his ult hits different when you're rewinding a bad teamfight engage. Solid Epic that does its job well at 1350 RP.

Skinlines and Where Ekko Fits

Ekko shows up in eight different skinlines which is decent spread for twelve skins. Not sure if it's just me but I think the champion's time-bending kit makes him a natural fit for tech-themed lines. PROJECT and Pulsefire both lean into that futuristic angle and both work. True Damage went the music route and became his most iconic look. Guardian of the Sands was the odd one out early on.

The Arcane skins deserve their own paragraph. Two Arcane skins in the collection: Firelight Ekko and Last Stand Ekko from 2024. These pull directly from the Netflix show and if you've watched it you know why they hit. The Firelight design with the owl mask is straight from season 1. Last Stand captures that final-act energy. Riot leaned heavy into the show's art direction for both and it paid off. Playing Firelight Ekko on the Rift feels like you're controlling the actual show version of the character.

World Champions 2016 gave us SKT T1 Ekko. Esports skins are always niche but this one looks clean. The white-and-red SKT colorway on Ekko's model works better than most Worlds skins. Trick or Treat rounds out the themed skins with a Halloween variant that's more playful than his usual aesthetic. (Sidebar for Ekko mains specifically: the candy bag on Trick or Treat is way funnier than it should be in a ranked game.)

Academy is the only skinline that feels like it doesnt quite match Ekko's vibe. School uniform on a time-traveling kid from Zaun. Kinda feels like Riot hadn't figured out his identity yet when that one shipped back in 2015.

Budget Picks vs Premium Ekko Skins

If you're climbing ranked and want a clean Ekko skin without dropping serious RP, PROJECT: Ekko at 1350 is the play. The particles are distinct enough that your abilities read clearly in teamfights, the model looks modern, and you wont feel like you're playing with outdated visuals. Best bang for your RP on this champion by a mile.

Academy Ekko at 750 RP is the absolute floor. Cheap. Simple costume swap. No new particles, no new sounds. Fine if you literally just want something different from base but I'd save the extra 600 RP and get PROJECT instead. Not gonna lie, Academy looks rough next to anything released after 2017.

Sandstorm at 975 hits a weird middle ground. More interesting than Academy, has some particle changes with the desert theme, but still feels like early-era League. I had it in rotation during season 7 or 8, eventually shelved it once I picked up PROJECT.

On the premium end, True Damage Ekko at 1820 RP is worth the investment if Ekko is in your regular champion pool. Two Legendary-tier games a week and you've already gotten your money's worth in enjoyment. The Mythic skins are collector pieces that sit outside the normal pricing. Great if you have them, don't stress if you dont. The core collection between 1350-1820 covers everything you need for a satisfying Ekko experience in solo queue.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Ekko have?

Ekko has 12 skins total as of 2024. That includes two Standards from 2015, seven Epics across different skinlines, one Legendary (True Damage), and two Mythic variants. Pretty solid collection for a champion who's only been around since season 5. Not the biggest roster but the quality is there across the board.

What is the best Ekko skin?

True Damage Ekko. Not even close for me. The Legendary tier delivers new model, VFX, voice lines, animations, the whole package. Been spamming it in Diamond since it dropped and never got tired of the visuals. PROJECT: Ekko is the runner-up if you want something cheaper at 1350 RP. Both are S-tier picks.

What is the cheapest Ekko skin?

Academy Ekko at 750 RP. It's a basic costume swap from 2015 with no new particles or sounds. Gets the job done if you just want something different from default. Honestly though, saving up for PROJECT at 1350 is a way better investment. The jump in quality is massive for the price difference.

Does Ekko have a Legendary skin?

Yeah, one Legendary: True Damage Ekko at 1820 RP. Complete overhaul with new model, ability VFX, recall animation, voice lines, and sound effects. The hip-hop and streetwear theme fits him perfectly. Think it dropped in 2019 and its still the best skin in his collection. Full Legendary price, earns it.

What skinlines is Ekko in?

Ekko appears in eight skinlines: Guardian of the Sands, Academy, PROJECT, World Champions 2016, Trick-or-Treat, True Damage, Pulsefire, and Arcane. The tech-themed ones like PROJECT and Pulsefire fit his kit best. True Damage is the standout. Arcane skins pull from the Netflix show which is cool if you watched it.

Does Ekko have chromas?

Several of Ekko's Epic skins have chroma options. Pulsefire and Star Guardian both got chroma sets when they released. The chromas add color variety but don't change particles. Nice to have if you already own the base skin and want to mix it up in your ranked games without buying a whole new skin.

When was Ekko's last skin released?

Arcane Last Stand Ekko in 2024. Tied to the second season of the Arcane show on Netflix. Before that was Breakout True Damage Ekko, also 2024. Good year for Ekko mains honestly. Two skins in one year dont happen often so the collection got a nice boost recently.

Is Ekko worth buying skins for?

If you play him regularly, absolutely. Ekko's kit is super visual - his W zone, the ult rewind, the phase dive. Good skins make all of that pop on the Rift. True Damage alone justifies the investment. Even the Epic tier skins like PROJECT feel premium for their price. Skip the 750 RP Standard skins and go straight to 1350+ for the real experience.
