Brand Skins

12 skins available

Brand has 12 skins now and honestly the collection hits harder than most mage rosters in the game. Been playing Brand since season 3, mostly as support because lets be real thats where he lives in solo queue, and the skin quality jumped massively after 2015. Some of his older skins feel like recolors with extra steps. But the newer ones? Riot figured out that a fire mage needs dramatic VFX to sell a fantasy. The good ones here are really good. The bad ones are forgettable but cheap enough that you dont care.

Brand's Skin Collection Over the Years

Twelve skins spanning from 2011 to 2024. Not a massive catalog compared to someone like Lux or Ezreal, but Brand isnt exactly a poster child for Riot's marketing team either. He's a support/mid flex pick that spikes in popularity whenever his numbers are overtuned, then fades back to a steady 3-4% pick rate. The skin releases follow that pattern pretty closely.

The tier breakdown tells you a lot. Three Standard skins, seven Epics, one Legendary, and one Mythic. That Legendary is Zombie Brand and it carries the entire catalog on its back. Could be wrong here but I think Brand's skin history splits cleanly into two eras: the pre-2015 stuff where Riot was still figuring out particle work, and everything after Spirit Fire Brand where they started actually investing in his VFX.

Apocalyptic Brand dropped in 2011. Old school. The early skins like Vandal and Cryocore are products of their time. Simple model swaps, minimal particle changes, the kind of thing Riot was shipping when champions got a skin every few months just to fill the shop. Nothing wrong with them if you want variety on a budget.

Then things picked up. Zombie Brand in 2013 was a turning point. Full Legendary treatment. New VO, new animations, the whole package. After that, Riot spaced things out more but each release brought real quality. Spirit Fire in 2016, Battle Boss in 2017, Arclight in 2018. Consistent Epic-tier output. The Debonair and Prestige variants came in 2021, Eternal Dragon followed in the Dragonmancers line, and Empyrean closed out 2024 as the newest addition.

Solid roster. Not bloated, not neglected. Feels like Brand gets attention when Riot has a skinline that fits fire themes, which happens more often than you'd think.

Best Skins for Brand

Zombie Brand is the easy number one and its not even close. Legendary tier, 1820 RP, released back in 2013 and it still holds up. The zombie walk animation alone sells it. Brand shambles around the Rift like he forgot how legs work and every ability has this gross greenish fire that reads perfectly in teamfights. His W drops a circle of zombie hands reaching up from the ground. His ult bounces between targets with this sickly trail. New voice lines too, lots of groaning and grunting mixed with the occasional coherent threat. Been spamming this in Diamond for years and the recall animation where he rises from a grave still gets reactions in chat. Peak skin design for the era.

Spirit Fire Brand sits at second for me. 1350 RP Epic and it transforms his entire color palette into this blue-white spectral flame. The Q fireball becomes a spirit projectile, the E spread looks like ghostly fire crawling across the ground. Not gonna lie, the first time I saw this skin in a ranked game around season 7 I thought it was a completely different champion for a split second. (Random tangent: my duo partner refuses to play against Spirit Fire Brand because he says the W indicator blends into certain terrain. Might be a skill issue on his part.)

Battle Boss Brand is the fun pick. Arcade skinline, 1350 RP, pixelated fire effects that look like they're from a 16-bit game. The recall has him playing an arcade cabinet. His passive stacks show as pixel flames around the target. It's a complete departure from Brand's usual dark fire aesthetic and thats exactly why it works. Good skin for when you want to tilt someone with style.

Arclight Brand flips the script with holy golden fire. 1350 RP. The W pillar becomes this column of divine light, the R bounces with golden trails. Arclight as a skinline tends to look clean on mages and Brand is no exception. Played maybe 40 games with it last season and the ability clarity is actually great. Everything reads well against the Rift's darker terrain.

Prestige Debonair Brand rounds out the top five. Mythic tier, special acquisition. The white and gold suit with crystalline fire effects is genuinely premium looking. Kinda feels like Riot designed the Prestige version first and the base Debonair second because the Prestige just looks more cohesive. Hard to get now though. Loot exclusive territory.

Skinlines and Themes That Fit Brand

Brand shows up in a surprising number of skinlines for a champion with only 12 skins. Road Warrior, Vandal, Silver Age, Zombies VS Slayers, Worldbreaker, Arcade Battle Bosses, Arclight, and Dragonmancers. That's eight different thematic universes.

The ones that actually fit his fantasy? Zombies VS Slayers is perfect because Zombie Brand is a masterpiece. Arclight works because divine fire is a natural extension of the fire mage concept. Dragonmancers through Eternal Dragon Brand leans into the elemental power angle and it fits. Fire champion plus dragon equals obvious synergy but Riot executed it well enough that it doesnt feel lazy.

Might be overthinking it but I think Brand's problem thematically is that he's literally just fire. That sounds reductive but when your entire kit is "set things on fire and watch them burn," every skinline has to find a way to make the fire look different. Blue fire, green fire, gold fire, pixel fire, dragon fire. The skinlines that succeed are the ones that give the fire a reason to look different, not just a color swap. Zombie Brand works because zombie fire has narrative weight. Spirit Fire works because spectral flames feel distinct. Vandal Brand? Just fire but with a leather jacket. Less compelling.

The Arcade and Debonair lines prove Brand can stretch beyond pure elemental themes though. He doesn't have to be serious all the time. Battle Boss Brand is genuinely playful and it works in a way I wouldnt have predicted. (Sidebar for Brand mains: if you haven't tried Battle Boss in ARAM specifically, you're missing out. The pixel effects in that chaotic environment are chef's kiss.)

Budget vs Premium: Where to Spend on Brand

Price range goes from 520 RP on the old Standards up to 1820 RP for Zombie Brand. Real talk though, the value distribution here is unusual.

If you want to spend minimal RP, Cryocore Brand at 520 is the cheapest option that actually changes something noticeable. Blue ice fire on a fire mage. Simple concept, low price. It works for what it is. Apocalyptic Brand at the same tier gives you a post-apocalyptic look but the model shows its age.

The sweet spot is the Epic tier at 1350 RP. Seven of Brand's twelve skins sit here and the quality is consistently solid. Spirit Fire and Battle Boss are both 1350 and they compete with skins that cost more on other champions. If you're only buying one Brand skin and you don't want to commit Legendary money, Spirit Fire is the pick. Best VFX-to-cost ratio in his catalog.

Zombie Brand at 1820 is worth the full Legendary price if you main Brand or play him regularly in ranked. The new VO and animations justify the premium. But if Brand is your pocket pick that comes out every 15 games? Stick with an Epic. 1350 well spent for mains, but you dont need Legendary for occasional use.

Prestige Debonair is Mythic tier so you're either crafting it through Hextech or you already have it. Not something you budget for in the traditional sense. Clean skin though. Worth the grind if you're committed to the champion.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Brand have?

Brand has 12 skins total as of 2024. The collection spans from 2011's Apocalyptic Brand all the way to Empyrean Brand which dropped in 2024. Decent catalog size for a champion who isnt one of Riot's golden children. Three Standard, seven Epic, one Legendary, one Mythic. Solid spread across tiers.

What is the best Brand skin?

Zombie Brand. Not even a debate in my ranked games. Legendary tier with new VO, new animations, the zombie walk is iconic at this point. Released in 2013 and still holds up against modern skins. If you main Brand in any capacity, this is the one. Spirit Fire is the runner-up if you want Epic tier instead.

What is the cheapest Brand skin?

Apocalyptic Brand and Cryocore Brand both sit at 520 RP. Vandal Brand is also in the Standard tier. For the money, Cryocore is the better buy. Blue ice fire on Brand is a clean contrast to his default look. The model is dated but the color shift reads well on the Rift even now.

Does Brand have a Legendary skin?

Yeah, one Legendary. Zombie Brand at 1820 RP. Full package: new voice lines, new walk animation, unique recall, overhauled ability VFX. Been in the game since 2013 and it's aged better than most Legendaries from that era honestly. The zombie groaning VO alone makes it worth locking in.

What skinlines is Brand in?

Brand appears in eight skinlines: Road Warrior, Vandal, Silver Age, Zombies VS Slayers, Worldbreaker, Arcade Battle Bosses, Arclight, and Dragonmancers. Pretty diverse for 12 skins. The standouts are Zombies VS Slayers and Arclight. Both give his fire a completely different identity that feels earned.

Does Brand have chromas?

Several of Brand's Epic skins have chroma options. Battle Boss and the newer releases especially. Chromas on a fire mage work surprisingly well because the flame color shifts are immediately noticeable in game. Worth checking the specific skin pages for exact counts and color options if thats your thing.

When was Brand's last skin released?

Empyrean Brand dropped in 2024 as the most recent addition. Before that was Street Demons Brand. Riot's been keeping a reasonable cadence with Brand releases, roughly one every year or two. Not neglected but not prioritized either. Fair treatment for his pick rate.

Is Brand worth buying skins for?

If you play Brand regularly, absolutely. His base model is fine but the VFX upgrades on skins like Spirit Fire and Zombie Brand genuinely change how the champion feels. Brand is one of those champs where ability particles define the experience. Playing default Brand after using Zombie Brand for months feels like a downgrade. Grab at least one Epic.
