Been sitting on this skin since season 5 and honestly its one of those purchases I forget I even own until it pops up in random skin select. SSW Rengar is a weird one. Not bad, not exciting, just kind of there. The World Champions 2014 line was Riot celebrating Samsung White’s dominant Worlds run, and Rengar was DanDy’s pick, so here we are.

What SSW Rengar actually looks like in game

So the model swap puts Rengar in a white and blue Samsung jacket. Hoodie up. Clean look if you’re into the esports vibe. The color palette shifts from Rengar’s usual earthy hunter tones to something way more clinical. White, blue accents, Samsung branding on the back. Kinda feels like he’s about to step into a PC bang instead of the jungle.

No new VFX on Q, W, E, or R. Voice stays default. No recall animation changes either. Standard 750 RP treatment for 2015 esports skins. What you’re paying for is the outfit swap and the flex that you know who DanDy is. That’s it.

The knife design got a slight tweak. Could be wrong here but I think the blade has a subtle color shift to match the blue-white scheme. In teamfights you’re not going to notice any of this though. You jump from R, oneshot the ADC, and nobody’s looking at your jacket. Played maybe 30 games with this skin last season and not once did anyone comment on it in chat.

The Samsung White legacy and release context

Released May 13, 2015. That whole batch of SSW skins dropped together. Alvin Lee and Pan Chengwei handled the splash art, and they did a solid job capturing the esports energy. DanDy standing there with the Rengar pose, Samsung logo front and center. Banger splash for what it is.

The World Champions 2014 skinline includes Thresh, Talon, Twitch, and Singed alongside Rengar. Not sure if it’s just me but I think SSW Rengar is probably the second best of the set after SSW Thresh. The white color scheme reads better on Rengar than it does on some of the others.

Legacy vault skin. You cant just walk into the shop and grab it. Hextech crafting or waiting for one of those rare Legacy sales around Worlds is your best bet. 750 RP price tag when it does show up. For reference that was standard pricing for Worlds skins back then before Riot started doing the 1350 RP treatment for every esports line.

Should you care about SSW Rengar

Real verdict: this is a collector’s skin. If you main Rengar and you care about having every skin in the champion tab, sure, grab it when it rotates back. But if you’re looking for something that actually changes how Rengar feels to play, skip this. Headhunter and Mecha both offer way more for the money. Even Pretty Kitty Rengar is a more interesting choice and I say that without irony.

750 RP feels fair for what you get. Model swap, decent splash, historical significance. (Random aside: DanDy’s Rengar in that SSW vs Royal semifinal is still one of the best jungle performances I’ve ever watched in pro play.) The skin carries weight if you followed competitive League back in season 4. Otherwise its just a white jacket on a cat.

For Rengar one-tricks specifically, this sits mid-tier. Not embarrassing to lock in, not exciting either. I keep it in rotation mostly for the nostalgia of that era. Around 2 AM one night last week I was grinding ranked and it came up on random select, reminded me why I started playing jungle in the first place. That Samsung White roster was something else. The skin itself though? Honest take – functional, clean, forgettable. Worth picking up cheap from a chest if you get lucky, not worth hunting down.
