Arcade: Heroes Skins
All 11 skins in the Arcade: Heroes skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Arcade: Heroes skin in League of Legends.
Arcade Heroes is one of those skinlines that hits you with pure nostalgia the second you see a splash art. Retro pixel aesthetics, bright neon colors, 8-bit sound effects on abilities. Been playing League since season 3 and I remember when Arcade Sona dropped, it felt like Riot actually understood what made old-school gaming cool. Not sure if it's just me but this line still holds up better than half the modern skinlines they push out now. 11 skins deep across 9 champions, all sitting at 1350 RP for the Epics, and two Prestige versions of Caitlyn because Riot loves giving her nice things.

What Makes the Arcade Heroes Line Stand Out
The visual identity here is tight. Every Arcade Heroes skin shares that retro gaming DNA: pixel particle effects, chiptune sound cues on abilities, and splash arts that look like they belong on a Super Nintendo box cover. Color palette leans hard into saturated pinks, cyans, greens, and purples. Think classic arcade cabinets. Think quarters on the screen to hold your spot.
What ties it all together is the particle work. Abilities across the line get that blocky pixel treatment on impact. Sona's auras turn into what looks like power-ups from a side-scroller. Miss Fortune's bullets become little pixel projectiles. Corki's package run feels like a shoot-em-up game. Consistent theme execution across the board.
Could be wrong here but I think Arcade Heroes does something most skinlines fail at: it makes every champion feel like they belong in the same universe. Compare that to something like the Cosmic line where half the champions feel shoehorned in. Here the retro gaming wrapper works because League champions already have flashy abilities that translate well into arcade visuals. Q hits become combo attacks. Ults become super moves. It maps cleanly.
(Random aside: I used to play actual arcade cabinets as a kid and the sound design on these skins genuinely takes me back to standing in a dimly lit arcade at 4 PM on a Saturday.)
The splash arts deserve their own mention. They lean into box art energy. Bright backgrounds, dynamic poses, pixel elements framing the champion. Not photorealistic, not trying to be edgy. Just fun. Thats the word that keeps coming back when I think about this line. Fun. In a game where half the skinlines are "dark corrupted evil version of champion," Arcade Heroes is refreshing.
Best Arcade Heroes Skins
Arcade Miss Fortune is the one that started it all back in 2012. Still one of the best Miss Fortune skins period. The pixel bullets on her Q bouncing between targets, the retro love-heart particles, her ult turning into a full-on bullet hell sequence. Been running this in ranked since I picked up MF as a secondary ADC pick and honestly the auto attack sounds alone make cs-ing more satisfying. Real talk though, for a skin thats over a decade old it competes with skins released last year.
Arcade Sona is the other S-tier pick from the line. Sona's kit is all auras and music, so the chiptune audio treatment hits different here. Every ability sounds like a retro game soundtrack. Played maybe 150 games of Sona support in Diamond last season and this was locked in for about 80% of them. The heal sounds like picking up a health pack. The speed boost sounds like a power-up. Perfect thematic match.
Arcade Ahri surprised me. Kinda feels like Ahri gets a skin every other patch but the Arcade version actually earned its spot. Her charm becomes this pixel heart projectile and the orb on her Q gets that retro trail effect. In teamfights her abilities read cleanly which matters when you're trying to land charm on a priority target in the backline.
Prestige Arcade Caitlyn is interesting because Riot gave her two versions: the original Prestige and the 2022 update. Both Mythic tier. The 2022 version cleaned up the model and added better VFX so if you somehow have both, the newer one wins. Caitlyn's kit works well with the arcade theme because her traps become little pixel mines and her ult channel looks like a boss charging up a special attack.
Arcade Corki is underrated. Not gonna lie, I don't see it much in my games but the package delivery turning into a side-scrolling bomber run is creative. His rockets become pixel missiles. The sound effects on his autos in lane are satisfying for poke. Might be the best Corki skin if you're not into the military aesthetic of his other options.
Champion Roster and Thematic Fit
Nine champions in the Heroes roster. Some fit naturally. Some feel like Riot was filling slots.
Miss Fortune and Sona are the foundation. Been there since 2012, they set the tone for everything that came after. Both have kits that translate perfectly into arcade visuals. MF's bullet-based kit becomes shoot-em-up gameplay. Sona's music-based kit becomes chiptune heaven. No notes on either pick.
Ezreal is another natural fit. His Q is basically a projectile in a side-scroller already. The Arcade version just makes it literal. His blink feels like a dash move from a platformer. Lock this in for your Ezreal one-trick friend, they'll appreciate it. Seen it in maybe every third Ezreal game in Diamond this season.
Riven is where it gets interesting. A melee fighter in an arcade line? Could be coping but I think it works. Her broken blade segments becoming pixel shards, her wind slash turning into a screen-clearing super move. Gives her a lighter vibe compared to all the edgy Riven skins. Good pick if you're tired of Dawnbringer discourse.
Hecarim feels slightly forced. Not bad, just not the first champion you'd think of for retro gaming aesthetics. A spectral horse knight running through a pixel world. It works on paper but in game the contrast between his aggressive engage playstyle and the bright happy colors is jarring. Maybe just my experience but every time I see an Arcade Hecarim ganking my lane at full speed it looks comedic rather than threatening.
Kai'Sa rounds out the roster. She joined later and her kit with the plasma stacks and dive ult translates well enough. The evolution effects getting pixel upgrades is a nice touch. Not the best Kai'Sa skin but far from the worst.
Who should Riot add next? Jinx feels obvious. Her whole personality is chaotic fun and her rocket launcher would look incredible in pixel art. Lux could work too, her abilities are already colorful and beam-based. Maybe Veigar since hes literally a tiny mage that looks like he belongs in a fantasy RPG.
Tier Breakdown and Pricing
Here's what you're working with: 9 Epic skins at 1350 RP and 2 Mythic tier Prestige skins for Caitlyn. No Legendaries. No Ultimates. Straight Epic pricing across the board.
Honestly this is fine for what it is. The 1350 RP tier gives you new model, new VFX, new SFX, and a new recall animation. For Arcade Heroes thats plenty because the retro effects carry the skins hard. You dont need new voice lines when the pixel particles and chiptune sounds do all the heavy lifting. Voice lines stay base across the whole line.
No Legendary in the line is a missed opportunity though. Fair warning, this is purely my opinion, but an Arcade Legendary with full VO changes where the champion talks like an NPC or a game narrator would have been incredible. Imagine Arcade Miss Fortune with voice lines referencing high scores and extra lives. Riot left money on the table there.
The Prestige versions of Caitlyn are the premium options. Mythic tier means you needed event tokens or Mythic Essence. Not something you can just buy in the shop. If you missed them, you're waiting for Mythic shop rotations. The 2022 version updated the visuals so it feels more modern but both are collector pieces at this point.
Price range is simple: 1350 RP for every purchasable skin. No 975 budget options, no 1820 Legendary tax. Makes it easy to decide. You either want the retro aesthetic or you don't, and if you do, every skin costs the same. (Sidebar: I wish more skinlines had this kind of consistent pricing instead of mixing 975 and 1350 randomly.)
For the value you get at 1350, Arcade Heroes delivers. The particle effects are distinctive, the sound design is top tier for Epics, and the theme is cohesive. Spammed Arcade Sona for two months straight in ranked last Tuesday finally switched to a different skin and immediately missed the chiptune Q sound. That tells you something about how well the audio lands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Arcade Heroes skins are there?
11 skins total in the Arcade Heroes line right now. That covers 9 different champions with Caitlyn getting two Prestige versions (original and the 2022 update). Been building up since 2012 when Miss Fortune and Sona kicked things off. Decent sized roster for a thematic line, not the biggest but far from the smallest either.
What is the best Arcade Heroes skin?
Arcade Miss Fortune and Arcade Sona fight for the top spot. MF edges it out for me because the bullet hell ult VFX is still one of the best visual effects in the game for an Epic tier skin. Sona is right behind with the chiptune audio carrying hard. Both are S-tier picks that I keep coming back to in ranked.
Which champions have Arcade Heroes skins?
Nine champions: Miss Fortune, Sona, Corki, Caitlyn, Ezreal, Riven, Ahri, Hecarim, and Kai'Sa. Good mix of ADCs, supports, and a couple fighters. MF and Sona are the originals from 2012, rest joined over the following years through 2022. Caitlyn's the only one with multiple skins in the line.
Does Arcade Heroes have Legendary skins?
No Legendaries in Arcade Heroes. The line is all Epics at 1350 RP plus two Mythic Prestige skins for Caitlyn. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity honestly. A Legendary with full retro voice lines and 8-bit animations would have been perfect for this theme. Maybe someday Riot revisits it.
When did the Arcade Heroes skinline release?
First Arcade Heroes skins dropped in 2012 with Miss Fortune and Sona. The line kept getting additions through 2022 when Prestige Arcade Caitlyn got her updated version. Ten year run for the skinline which is solid. Most of the roster filled out between 2015 and 2019 if I remember right.
Are Arcade Heroes skins worth buying?
If you like retro gaming aesthetics then yeah, absolutely worth it. 1350 RP gets you strong particle effects and some of the best sound design in the Epic tier. Miss Fortune and Sona are the standouts. Could be wrong but I think even the weaker entries like Hecarim are still above average for 1350. Good value across the board.
Do Arcade Heroes skins have chromas?
Some of the newer Arcade Heroes skins got chromas when they released. The earlier skins like Miss Fortune and Sona from 2012 launched without chromas since the chroma system wasnt around yet. Check individual skin pages for specific chroma availability. The chromas that exist mostly swap the neon color palettes around.
Will Riot make more Arcade Heroes skins?
Hard to say. Last addition was in 2022 and Riot hasnt announced new Arcade skins since. The theme still has fans though and champions like Jinx or Lux would fit perfectly. Might be overthinking it but the retro gaming trend in pop culture could push Riot to revisit the line. No guarantees but I wouldn't count it out.
