Zoe Skins

9 skins available

Zoe is one of those champions where every skin feels like Riot actually tried. Nine skins total since her 2017 release and honestly not a single dud in the bunch. Might be overthinking it but I think she just translates well to different themes because her kit is so visually expressive. The Q alone gives artists a ton to work with. Been playing Zoe on and off since season 8, mostly in Diamond, and I've cycled through almost every skin she has at this point. Some champions have 15 skins and maybe 3 worth using. Zoe has 9 and I could argue for 7 of them on any given day.

How Zoe's Skin Catalog Shaped Up Over the Years

Cyber Pop Zoe dropped alongside her release back in 2017. Launch skin. Riot gave her an Epic right out the gate which felt generous considering some champions sit on their base skin for a year before getting anything. That Cyber Pop aesthetic set the tone early: Zoe skins go hard on particle effects because her entire kit is projectile-based and sparkly by default.

From there the catalog filled out pretty steadily. Pool Party in 2019. Star Guardian in 2020. Arcanist plus its Prestige variant in 2021. EDG Zoe that same year as the Worlds celebration skin. Winterblessed showed up in 2022, Dark Star in 2024, and Prestige Eternal Aspect rounded things out. Nine skins across seven years. Not bad for a mid-laner who isnt exactly the most popular pick in solo queue.

The tier breakdown is interesting. Seven Epics at 1350 RP each and two Mythic-tier Prestige skins. No Legendary. No Ultimate. Could be wrong here but I think Zoe would absolutely justify a Legendary with new voice lines. Her base VO is already one of the best in the game so imagine what they could do with a full rework. Still waiting on that one, Riot.

What stands out is consistency. There's no 520 RP recolor in the mix, no lazy texture swap from 2014. Every Zoe skin is at minimum an Epic with full particle changes. That means every single option in her catalog changes how Q, W, E, and R look. For a champion whose entire gameplay loop is about hitting one skillshot, that matters more than you'd think. The bubble on her E alone can make or break a skin for me.

Best Zoe Skins to Lock In

Star Guardian Zoe. Full stop. Not gonna lie, this might be the single best Epic skin for any mage in the game. The Star Guardian line fits Zoe's personality so perfectly it almost feels like the skinline was designed around her. She's the trickster villain of the Star Guardian universe and every ability reflects that. Her Q gets this corrupted star trail that looks menacing but still sparkly. The E sleep bubble? Dark purple swirl that contrasts hard against Summoner's Rift. Beautiful stuff.

(Random aside: I have a friend who only plays Zoe Star Guardian and refuses to acknowledge the other skins exist. One-trick energy.)

Arcanist Zoe is a close second. The magical scholar theme works because Zoe is literally an ancient cosmic being pretending to be a kid. The purple and gold color scheme reads clean in teamfights and the Q projectile has this satisfying arcane glow. Played maybe 80 games with Arcanist last season in Diamond and the spell effects never got old. The recall animation where she pulls out a spellbook is a nice touch too.

Prestige Arcanist Zoe takes the base Arcanist and cranks it. White and gold palette, special border, the works. Mythic tier so you cant just buy it from the shop anymore. If you have it, you have it. Seen maybe 5 of these in my games total across multiple seasons.

Dark Star Zoe is the newest addition from 2024 and it goes in a completely different direction. Cosmic horror vibes on a playful champion. Sounds like it shouldnt work. It does. The Q becomes this void-purple comet and her E portal looks like a miniature black hole. Kinda feels like Riot wanted to prove Zoe could carry a serious theme without losing her identity. They proved it.

Cyber Pop Zoe still holds up for a 2017 skin. The digital aesthetic with pixelated particles was ahead of its time. Her W drops little arcade items. Real talk though, compared to later entries it shows its age a bit. The model looks slightly less polished than Arcanist or Dark Star. Still a solid pick if you like the retro-tech vibe.

Skinlines and How They Fit Zoe's Fantasy

Eight different skinlines across nine skins. Zoe gets around. Star Guardian is the obvious standout because she's actually a canon villain in that universe. Not a side character, not a cameo. She's the antagonist. That narrative weight makes the skin feel more substantial than a typical cosmetic swap.

Pool Party is the lightest theme and honestly it works fine. Summer vibes, beach ball particles, nothing groundbreaking but its fun. I pull it out in normals sometimes when I dont want to tryhard. Good skin for ARAMs specifically.

The Arcanist line gave us both the base skin and the Prestige version. Double dip from one skinline, which Riot does when a champion really fits the theme. Winterblessed was a 2022 holiday release. Nice enough but it competes with Star Guardian and Arcanist for the "magical sparkly" slot and I think it comes in third. The ice particles on Q look cool but dont pop as hard in lane.

EDG Zoe is the Worlds 2021 championship skin. These are always hit or miss depending on whether the pro player who picked the champion actually mained them. EDG Scout picked Zoe and the skin reflects his playstyle with clean, sharp effects. Not my personal favorite but championship skins carry prestige for a different reason. You're wearing someone's Worlds moment.

Dark Star as a skinline tends to work best on serious champions. Thresh, Varus, Orianna. Putting Zoe in that space was a risk and I think it paid off. The Eternal Aspects line gave us the second Prestige through Prestige Eternal Aspect Zoe. Two Prestige skins on one champion is notable. Riot clearly thinks Zoe's playerbase will grind for exclusive cosmetics. They're probably right. (Sidebar for Zoe mains specifically: you know you grinded for both.)

Budget Picks vs Premium Options

Here's the thing about Zoe's catalog. There is no budget option. Every purchasable skin is 1350 RP. The two Mythic Prestige skins aren't directly buyable with RP at all. So you're looking at 1350 across the board for her shop-available skins.

That said, not all 1350 RP skins are created equal. Cyber Pop Zoe from 2017 has noticeably less polish than Dark Star Zoe from 2024. Seven years of Riot improving their skin pipeline shows. If you're buying exactly one Zoe skin and climbing ranked with her, Star Guardian gives you the most visual clarity on abilities while still looking premium. Best value in the catalog even though the price is identical to everything else.

Pool Party is the "chill" option. Less intense particles, lighter color palette. Good if you find Star Guardian or Dark Star too visually busy. Been in games where heavy particle skins actually distracted me from tracking my own Q through a teamfight. Not ideal when you're trying to snipe the backline ADC from fog.

For the collectors, both Prestige skins are Mythic tier and rotate through the Mythic shop. Could be coping but I think Prestige Arcanist edges out Prestige Eternal Aspect. The white-gold palette on Arcanist reads cleaner than the Eternal Aspect colorway. But honestly having either one is already a flex. Most Zoe players in my Diamond games run base Arcanist or Star Guardian.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Zoe have?

Zoe has 9 skins total as of 2024. Seven Epics at 1350 RP each and two Mythic-tier Prestige skins. Pretty solid catalog for a champion released in 2017. No Legendary yet which feels like a miss from Riot honestly. Every skin she has changes all her ability particles though so even the Epics feel premium.

What is the best Zoe skin?

Star Guardian Zoe for me. Not even close. The corrupted Star Guardian theme fits her personality perfectly and the ability particles are the cleanest in her catalog. Dark Star Zoe is a strong second pick if you want something darker. Been running Star Guardian in ranked for seasons and it just hits different every time.

What is the cheapest Zoe skin?

Every purchasable Zoe skin costs 1350 RP. There's no budget 520 or 750 RP option in her catalog. Cyber Pop, Pool Party, Star Guardian, Arcanist, EDG, Winterblessed, Dark Star - all 1350. The two Prestige skins are Mythic tier and rotate through the Mythic shop instead of direct purchase.

Does Zoe have a Legendary skin?

No Legendary for Zoe yet. All her skins are Epic tier or Mythic Prestige. Feels like a missed opportunity given how expressive her base voice lines are. A Legendary with new VO could be incredible. Maybe someday. Her kit is perfect for the Legendary treatment with all those projectile-heavy abilities begging for a full overhaul.

What skinlines is Zoe in?

Zoe appears in eight skinlines: Cyber Pop, Pool Party, Star Guardian, Arcanist, World Champions 2021 (EDG), Winterblessed, Dark Star, and The Eternal Aspects. Star Guardian is the standout because shes actually a villain in that universe. Not just a skin - she has lore significance in the Star Guardian canon.

Does Zoe have chromas?

Several Zoe skins have chroma options. Arcanist, Pool Party, and some of the newer releases come with chroma sets. The Prestige skins are essentially fancy chromas themselves in a way. If you want color variety, Arcanist chromas give you the most range. Worth checking which ones are still available in the shop.

When was Zoe's last skin released?

Dark Star Zoe dropped in 2024 along with Prestige Eternal Aspect Zoe. Two skins in the same year is solid. Before that Winterblessed came in 2022. Riot seems to give Zoe a new skin roughly every year or two which is a decent cadence for a mid-lane mage who isnt in every meta.

Is Zoe worth buying skins for?

If you play Zoe regularly then absolutely. Her kit is one of the most visual in the game. Every Q, every E bubble, every ult portal changes with skins and you notice it every single game. Spamming ranked with a skin that feels good on Zoe makes the champion more fun to play. Grab Star Guardian at minimum if you main her.
