Thresh Skins

16 skins available

Thresh has one of the most stacked skin catalogs for a support champion. Full stop. Been maining him on and off since season 4 and I think the collection aged better than most champions who've been around just as long. Sixteen skins deep, two Legendaries that both actually deliver, and enough variety in theme that you're not just picking between "dark Thresh" and "slightly darker Thresh." Not gonna lie, writing about his skins makes me want to queue up ranked right now and start throwing hooks.

How Thresh's Skin Collection Shaped Up Over the Years

Deep Terror Thresh kicked things off back in 2013, same year the champion launched. Nautical horror vibes. Solid for its time. The collection grew steadily from there, and Riot clearly figured out early that Thresh's kit translates well to different fantasies. A lantern, a hook, chains - these elements give skin designers a lot to work with visually.

Sixteen skins spanning 2013 to 2024. The tier spread looks like this: five Standard skins from the earlier days, seven Epics that make up the bulk, two Legendaries that are both genuinely top-tier, and two Mythic Prestige variants. Could be wrong here but I think Thresh might have one of the best Legendary-to-total-skin ratios for supports. Both Dark Star and Spirit Blossom hit different and neither feels like a lazy cash grab.

The earlier skins - Deep Terror, Championship 2013, Blood Moon - they show their age. No new animations, no custom VFX beyond recolored particles. But once you hit the 2016-2017 era with Dark Star Thresh, the quality jumps hard. Everything after that point is at minimum a clean 1350 RP Epic with full particle work.

Janitor Thresh dropped in 2024 as the newest addition. Mop handle for a hook. Honestly its a fun concept even if the execution is more comedic than premium. The collection covers serious horror, cosmic fantasy, western, cyberpunk, spiritual themes, and now janitorial duty. Range.

Best Skins for Thresh

Dark Star Thresh. The one. Released in 2016 and still arguably the best support skin in the entire game, not just for Thresh. The hook (Q) leaves this cosmic trail that looks incredible in motion. His lantern (W) becomes a collapsing star. The flay (E) tears through space itself. And the ult drops these dark matter walls that genuinely make the enemy team hesitate before walking through them. Played maybe 300 games on this skin across seasons 7 through 12 and the novelty never wore off.

Spirit Blossom Thresh is the other Legendary and it takes a completely different approach. Human form Thresh. Cherry blossom particles on everything. The recall animation alone sold me on it when it dropped in 2020. His Q launches this spirit-energy chain that feels smoother than base, and the W lantern has petals swirling around it (sidebar for Thresh mains specifically: the lantern click range feels identical, its just visual). Kinda feels like Riot put extra care into this one because of the Spirit Blossom event hype. The voice lines carry this skin hard - completely different personality from default Thresh.

High Noon Thresh sits at 1350 RP and punches way above that price point. Western theme. His hook is a lasso, the lantern glows with hellfire energy, and the whole color palette shifts to dusty oranges and reds. Been running this in Diamond when I want something flashy but dont want to commit to a Legendary. The Q animation specifically has this satisfying snap to it on hit. Best Epic in his catalog, not close.

Prestige Pulsefire Thresh is the flex pick. Mythic tier, special pricing, gold-and-white colorway over the Pulsefire base. Seen maybe 5 of these in my games across two seasons. Rare enough that people actually comment on it in champ select. The base Pulsefire is already solid with its tech-armor aesthetic and digital particle effects, but the Prestige version cleans everything up with that white-gold treatment.

Blood Moon Thresh deserves a mention too. 975 RP Standard skin from 2014 but the Blood Moon aesthetic fits Thresh's dark fantasy so naturally. Red oni mask, crimson chains. No new animations at that price but the model work holds up surprisingly well for a decade-old skin.

Skinlines and Where Thresh Fits

Thresh shows up in a lot of skinlines but not all of them suit him equally. Dark Star is the obvious best fit. Cosmic horror entity that feeds on souls? Thats literally Thresh's base lore with a space paint job. The entire Dark Star line revolves around consumption and corruption, and Thresh's kit - hooking, trapping, collecting souls with his passive - maps onto that perfectly.

Spirit Blossom reimagined him as a human spirit collector in Ionian mythology. Massive departure from his default look but it worked because the core identity stayed intact. Still collecting souls. Still luring people in. Just prettier about it. The Spirit Blossom event in summer 2020 was peak League content and Thresh was the centerpiece for good reason.

High Noon puts him in the demon-western universe alongside Lucian and Senna. Real talk though, the thematic connection runs deeper than cowboy hats - High Noon Thresh is basically a devil figure making deals for souls. Again, soul collection. Riot found the thread that connects all these skinlines and its always the lantern.

Pulsefire went cyberpunk-future with him. Not sure if it's just me but the tech aesthetic feels slightly less natural on Thresh compared to Dark Star or Blood Moon. Still a quality skin, the particle work on the Pulsefire line is consistently strong. Just feels like Thresh belongs in darker, more mystical spaces rather than chrome-and-neon. The World Championship skins (SSW 2014 and FPX 2019) are cool historical artifacts but they're basically team-branded recolors at 750-975 RP - more about the pro player legacy than the skin quality itself.

Budget vs Premium Thresh Skins

Price range runs from 750 RP on the cheapest Standards up to 1820 RP for the two Legendaries. Real question is where to spend.

If you're climbing ranked and want maximum visual impact per RP spent, High Noon Thresh at 1350 is the answer. Full VFX overhaul, custom sounds, clean animations. Might be overthinking it but I genuinely believe the hook animation on High Noon reads slightly faster than base, even though the actual speed is identical. Placebo or not, it feels good.

The 750-975 tier has Blood Moon and the esports skins. Blood Moon is the standout budget option. The SSW and FPX skins are collector items more than daily drivers - you lock those in when you want to rep Mata or Crisp, not because the VFX blow you away.

For the premium end, both Legendaries justify 1820 RP. Dark Star if you want menacing cosmic horror with the best hook visual in the game. Spirit Blossom if you want the complete package with unique VO, human model, and event-tier polish. Had both in rotation since 2020 and I swap between them depending on my mood that session. Late night ranked around 1 AM? Dark Star. Casual games with friends? Spirit Blossom. Simple system.

The Prestige skins sit in their own category since you cant just buy them outright. If you have the Mythic Essence or got lucky with rerolls, Prestige Pulsefire is a solid flex. But nobody should stress about not owning it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Thresh have?

Sixteen skins total as of 2024. That includes two Legendaries, two Mythic Prestige variants, seven Epics, and five Standards. Pretty loaded catalog for a support champion. Been collecting them since season 4 and the quality curve from Deep Terror to Janitor Thresh is massive.

What is the best Thresh skin?

Dark Star Thresh. Not close for me. The cosmic VFX on his Q and R are the best hook visuals in the game. Spirit Blossom is the alternative if you want new voice lines and a human model. Both are Legendary at 1820 RP and both earn it. High Noon is best value at 1350.

What is the cheapest Thresh skin?

SSW Thresh and the Championship skins sit at 750 RP, cheapest in his catalog. Blood Moon at 975 is the better budget pick though. The esports skins are mostly model swaps without custom particles. Fine if you want to rep the team, but Blood Moon gives you more visual identity for a couple hundred extra RP.

Does Thresh have a Legendary skin?

Two Legendaries. Dark Star Thresh from 2016 and Spirit Blossom Thresh from 2020. Both 1820 RP with full new animations, VFX, SFX, and recall animations. Spirit Blossom also has completely unique voice lines. Spammed both in ranked and honestly cant pick a permanent favorite between them.

What skinlines is Thresh in?

Thresh appears in Dark Star, Spirit Blossom, High Noon, Pulsefire, Blood Moon, Forgotten Depths, and two World Champions sets (2014 SSW and 2019 FPX). Plus Winterblessed and Lunar Emperor from more recent events. Dark Star and Spirit Blossom fit him best thematically - soul collector fantasy translates perfectly to both.

Does Thresh have chromas?

Several of his newer skins have chromas. High Noon, Pulsefire, Steel Dragon, and a few others got the chroma treatment. The Prestige Pulsefire is technically its own separate skin rather than a chroma. Check each individual skin page for the full chroma breakdown - some have six or more options.

When was Thresh's last skin released?

Janitor Thresh in 2024. Comedic skin with a mop and cleaning supplies theme. Bit of a departure from his usual dark aesthetic but Riot's been doing more humor skins lately. Before that was Winterblessed in the holiday event. Thresh gets a new skin roughly every year so the next one shouldnt be too far out.

Is Thresh worth buying skins for?

If you play support at all, yes. Thresh has been meta relevant for basically his entire existence since 2013. His kit ages well because hook champions never really fall out of the game entirely. Even in metas where enchanters dominate, a good Thresh player can climb. The skins hold value because you'll actually use them in ranked.
