Then True Damage hit later in 2019 with that K/DA-adjacent music line and suddenly she had two skins plus a Prestige before most champions even get their first post-release skin. Fast start.

The pace stayed consistent after that. Battle Queen came through, Shockblade followed, Lunar Empress showed up for Lunar Revel. La Ilusión landed as one of the more unique thematic picks. And then Battle Academia with another Prestige closed things out in 2025. Nine skins total, six Epics at 1350 RP each and three Mythic-tier Prestige editions. Could be wrong here but I think that Prestige-to-total ratio is higher than most assassins in the game. Riot clearly sees Qiyana as a cosmetics seller.

The thing that stands out looking at this timeline is how every skin sits at Epic tier or above. There's no 975 RP budget option, no 520 RP recolor collecting dust. Every Qiyana skin gets new particles, new recall, new SFX. That's actually unusual for a roster this size. Compare that to someone like Lux who has cheap skins padding the count. Qiyana's catalog is lean. Quality floor is high even if the ceiling doesn't reach Legendary territory yet.

No Legendary skin though. Feels like a miss honestly. Six years in and she still doesnt have one. A champion with this much mechanical expression in her kit, the element switching on Q, the terrain interaction on W, the massive R teamfight ult - she's perfect for a Legendary with new VO and evolving VFX per element. Best Qiyana Skins to Lock In

True Damage Qiyana is still the one. Released 2019 alongside the True Damage music event and it just fits her personality better than anything else in the catalog. The streetwear aesthetic, the headphones, the way her ohmlatl gets that sleek modern redesign. Her Q elements shift between these clean neon-tinted effects, ice feels crisp, grass gets this cool teal shade, rock hits with a satisfying bass-heavy thump on impact. Spammed this one through all of season 10 and most of 11 in my Diamond games. Still comes back into rotation every few months when I get tired of whatever else I'm running.

Prestige True Damage Qiyana is the flex version. Gold and white colorway, limited availability since it was the original event Prestige. Hextech crafting only these days for the original version. The 2022 re-release gave people another shot at it with slightly tweaked borders but same model essentially. Might be overthinking it but I think the original Prestige still looks cleaner than the 2022 variant. The gold accents pop harder against the white in the OG version. Battle Queen Qiyana surprised me. Picked it up expecting filler content and the skin actually goes hard in game. The regal theme works because Qiyana's whole lore identity is royalty anyway - she's literally an empress in training. Shockblade is the safe pick if you want something that reads well in competitive. Electric blue particles, clear ability indicators, nothing too distracting. Good for climbing when you need to focus on mechanics rather than admiring your skin. I ran this during a grind session last December, something like 15 games in one sitting, and the visual clarity actually helped me track my own Q elements better.

La Ilusión Qiyana brings a completely different energy. Día de los Muertos inspired, colorful, celebratory. The skull motifs on her abilities look gorgeous. Kinda feels like this one doesn't get enough love from the community but every time I lock it in someone in champ select compliments it. The splash alone is wallpaper material.

Skinline Breakdown and Which Themes Fit Qiyana

Seven different skinlines across nine skins. That's actually a lot of thematic range for one champion. Qiyana's been in Arcade Battle Bosses, True Damage, Battle Queens, Shockblade, Lunar Revel, La Ilusión, and Battle Academia. The variety works because her base design is flexible enough to slot into different aesthetics without losing what makes her recognizable.

True Damage is the best fit. Full stop. The modern streetwear vibe matches her confident personality, and the music theme gives Riot an excuse to make her abilities sound incredible. Qiyana was literally the centerpiece of the True Damage music video back in 2019 with that Becky G feature. The skinline was practically built around her.

Battle Queens comes second for thematic fit. Like I said, Qiyana IS royalty in her base lore. The Ixaocan empress thing isn't some random alternate universe stretch - it's just her actual character with a fancier outfit. That authenticity shows in the skin design. Been playing the Battle Queen version in ARAM specifically and it reads really well in the chaotic 5v5 fights on that map.

Shockblade is the generic-but-good option. Electric ninja aesthetic has been done a million times in League but Qiyana's element-switching kit actually gives it more depth than most Shockblade skins. Each element gets a distinct electrical pattern. Lunar Empress looks fantastic for the Lunar Revel lineup. La Ilusión is the wildcard that works way better than it should. Battle Academia feels like the most "safe corporate" choice of the bunch, clean execution but not much personality beyond the school uniform gimmick.

Battle Boss was the first skin and honestly it shows. Not bad by any means, the arcade pixel effects on her Q are fun, but compared to what came after it feels like Riot was still figuring out how to skin this champion's kit. Season 9 era design for sure.

Budget vs Premium: What to Buy First

Here's the thing with Qiyana - there is no budget option. Every purchasable skin costs 1350 RP. The three Prestige variants are all Mythic tier and require either event tokens, Mythic Essence, or getting lucky with Hextech crafting. So the "budget vs premium" conversation is really just "which 1350 RP skin gives you the most value" versus "is chasing a Prestige worth the grind."

True Damage Qiyana at 1350 RP is the best value in her catalog. Not even close. The particle work, the sound design, the model quality - it punches way above Epic tier. 1350 feels fair for what you get, maybe even underpriced considering some 1350 skins from the same era look significantly worse.

If you're on a strict one-skin budget for Qiyana, buy True Damage. If you can grab two, add Battle Queen. If you're a Qiyana main climbing ranked and want the full loadout, those two plus Shockblade covers every mood. Real talk though, the Prestiges are nice flex pieces but they dont change enough gameplay-wise to justify the grind unless you're a collector. The gold chromas are pretty. The base Epic versions play identically.

Skip Battle Boss unless its on sale or you get it from a chest. Its the weakest of the bunch and your RP goes further on literally anything else she has. (Sidebar for anyone wondering: no, there's no 750 or 520 RP Qiyana skin hiding somewhere. Riot just never made one.)
