Aurora Skins

2 skins available

Aurora might be the newest mage on the Rift but her skin catalog already has two strong entries that both do something different with her kit. Been playing her since release and I think Riot figured out pretty quickly what themes work for a spirit walker who phases between dimensions. Two Epics, zero filler. Small collection but honestly the quality ratio is better than champions with 15 skins where half of them are texture swaps from season 3. Not gonna lie, both skins change how the champion feels in game and thats rare for a roster this small.

Aurora's Skin Collection So Far

Two skins total. That's it. Battle Bunny Aurora and Arcana Aurora, both dropped in 2024, both Epic tier. For a champion released mid-2024 this is actually a decent pace. Some champs sit on their release skin for over a year before Riot remembers they exist. Skarner mains know the pain.

The interesting part is Riot didn't play it safe with either pick. Could be wrong here but I expected her first post-release skin to be something generic like a seasonal holiday skin or a pool party variant. Instead they went Anima Squad and Arcana, two of the more stylized skinlines in the game right now. Both at 1350 RP which is standard Epic pricing. No Legendary yet, no Prestige, no budget options below 1350.

Worth mentioning that Aurora's base skin already looks good. The Vastayan spirit walker aesthetic with the fox ears and the ethereal VFX on her abilities sets a high bar. So any skin needs to meaningfully change the fantasy to justify 1350 RP. I think both manage it but in very different ways. One goes sci-fi anime, the other goes mystical tarot. Pretty solid range for just two skins.

(Random aside: Aurora's release was wild. Everyone thought she'd be a jungler and then she just became this roaming mid/top flex pick that tilted every laner on the map.)

The tier breakdown is simple. Two Epics, nothing else. No 520 or 750 RP budget skin which means if you want to dress up Aurora you're spending 1350 minimum. Bit rough for newer players who just picked her up. But the Epic tier guarantees new particles, new models, and new recall animations on both, so you're getting actual content for the price.

Best Aurora Skins Right Now

With only two options this section might seem pointless but there's a real difference between them and which one you prefer says something about what you want out of a skin. Played both extensively in ranked this season and I have opinions.

Battle Bunny Aurora is the Anima Squad entry. 1350 RP. The skin takes her spirit walker identity and drops it into this anime mech-suit rabbit warrior aesthetic. Sounds weird on paper. Works in game. Her Q gets these pink-purple energy projectiles that read cleaner than base in teamfights. The W zone shift feels more dramatic with the sci-fi particle overlay, like you're warping through a different kind of dimension. Not gonna lie the recall animation where she does the bunny pose is a bit much but it fits the skinline.

The E is where Battle Bunny really shines. The hop leaves behind these holographic afterimages that look cleaner than base. In a chaotic teamfight around dragon pit last week I actually got compliments from my support because the ability VFX were "pretty." Coming from a Nautilus player thats high praise. Her ult keeps the circular zone control feel but trades the spiritual energy for hard light constructs. Solid upgrade.

Might be overthinking it but Battle Bunny Aurora feels slightly more responsive than base. Placebo probably. The animations are the same speed but the sharper particle effects make ability confirmations feel snappier. Been running this one in Diamond and it just hits different in lane.

Arcana Aurora takes the opposite direction. Tarot mysticism, gold and purple color scheme, fortune teller energy. This one leans harder into Aurora's magical identity. The Q projectiles have this card-themed particle trail that looks gorgeous on max settings. Her W phase shift gets arcane sigils and tarot imagery which honestly fits her dimensional hopping better than any other skin concept could.

The E movement ability gets golden trail effects. Clean. The ult zone becomes this mystical arena with floating arcana symbols around the perimeter. In a game last Tuesday my jungler called it "the Yu-Gi-Oh circle" and honestly I cant even argue with that description. Kinda feels like Riot designed Aurora's kit with the Arcana skinline already in mind. The fortune-telling, fate-manipulation vibes match her spirit walking lore almost too perfectly.

Real talk though, if I had to pick one? Arcana edges it out for me. The thematic cohesion is tighter. Battle Bunny is fun and flashy but Arcana feels like it belongs on Aurora in a way that most Epic skins dont achieve. The VFX clarity on Arcana is marginally better in messy teamfights too, which matters when you're trying to land a crucial R in a 5v5 around Baron.

Skinlines and Thematic Fit

Aurora sits in two skinlines right now. Anima Squad through Battle Bunny, and Arcana through her second skin. Both are relatively modern Riot skinlines that get consistent quality.

Anima Squad is the anime-inspired military line. Think Battle Bunny Miss Fortune, Jinx, that whole crew. It's flashy, colorful, and leans into the action figure aesthetic. Aurora fits in well enough. The bunny ear motif works with her Vastayan fox ears since they're both animal-themed headpieces. The sci-fi overlay on her spiritual abilities creates this cool contrast between technology and magic. Not the most natural fit for her character but it works as a fun alternate universe take.

(Sidebar for the lore nerds: Anima Squad Aurora basically replaces her connection to the spirit realm with connection to some kind of battle network. The skin bio is actually decent if you bother reading it.)

Arcana though. This skinline was made for Aurora. The whole tarot, fate, mysticism angle meshes perfectly with a champion whose kit revolves around phasing between dimensions and manipulating space. The Arcana line includes champs like Ahri, Ryze, and Xerath, all magic-heavy picks. Aurora belongs in this group. Feels like the creative team understood the assignment here.

Looking ahead, I think Aurora would fit well in Spirit Blossom whenever that returns. The Ionian spiritual themes overlap with her Vastayan identity. Maybe Coven too. Could be wrong here but I feel like Riot has a lot of room to explore with her. The dimensional phasing mechanic in her kit translates well to basically any magical or otherworldly skinline. Snow Moon, Winterblessed, Faerie Court. All solid candidates. Season 15 should be interesting for Aurora mains.

Budget vs Premium Picks

Here's the thing with Aurora. There is no budget option. Both skins are 1350 RP Epic tier. No 520, no 750, no 975. If you want a skin for Aurora you're paying full Epic price or sticking with base. That's it.

For a champion with only two skins this isnt surprising. Riot stopped making sub-1350 skins years ago for new champions. The last time we got a 975 RP skin for a newly released champ was probably 2018 or 2019. Maybe earlier. Dont remember exactly. Point is, Aurora launched in the era where 1350 is the floor.

Best value pick? If you can only afford one, Arcana Aurora. The thematic fit is better, the VFX clarity is slightly superior, and it'll age better because the Arcana aesthetic is timeless compared to the trend-dependent anime military look. Battle Bunny is great too, no question. But if I'm spending 1350 RP once on Aurora, Arcana is where that RP goes.

No Legendary exists yet for Aurora. Given how new she is, I'd expect one within 2-3 years if her play rate stays healthy. A Legendary with new voice lines could be incredible for her. The base VO is already solid but imagine a full Arcana or Spirit Blossom Legendary with dimensional phasing voice filters. Riot please. Been waiting since her release for them to announce something.

Fair warning if you're the type who rerolls skin shards in Hextech crafting: Aurora skins are in the loot pool. Could get lucky and save yourself the RP. Rolled Battle Bunny from a chest back in October and felt like I won the lottery. Small champion pool means decent odds statistically.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Aurora have?

Aurora has 2 skins total not counting the base. Battle Bunny Aurora and Arcana Aurora, both released in 2024. Pretty small collection since she's one of the newest champions on the roster. Both are Epic tier at 1350 RP so no budget options yet. Expect more skins as she becomes a staple pick.

What is the best Aurora skin?

Arcana Aurora takes it for me. The mystical tarot theme fits her dimensional phasing kit perfectly. VFX are clean, the color scheme reads well in teamfights, and the thematic cohesion is better than Battle Bunny. Been running Arcana in ranked since it dropped and havent switched back. Close call though, Battle Bunny is solid too.

What is the cheapest Aurora skin?

Both Aurora skins cost 1350 RP. No cheap option exists. Riot doesn't make sub-1350 skins for newer champions anymore so this is expected. Your only budget play is hoping to roll one from Hextech chests. Otherwise you're paying full Epic price for either Battle Bunny or Arcana.

Does Aurora have a Legendary skin?

No Legendary for Aurora yet. Both skins are Epic tier. Given that she launched in 2024 I think a Legendary is probably 2-3 years out if her pick rate holds up. A Legendary with new voice lines and unique animations would be huge for her. Spirit Blossom or Coven Legendary would fit perfectly. We'll see.

What skinlines is Aurora in?

Aurora appears in Anima Squad through Battle Bunny Aurora and Arcana through Arcana Aurora. Two different vibes entirely. Anima Squad is the anime military aesthetic, Arcana is mystical tarot energy. Both are modern skinlines that Riot keeps expanding. Arcana fits her kit better in my opinion but Anima Squad is the flashier pick.

Does Aurora have chromas?

Battle Bunny Aurora should have chromas as most Anima Squad skins in that batch got them. Check the shop page for current availability. Chromas at 290 RP each are a cheap way to get variety out of a single skin purchase. Worth grabbing your favorite color if you already own the base skin.

When was Aurora's last skin released?

Both Aurora skins dropped in 2024. Arcana Aurora was the most recent release. For a champion thats been out less than two years, two skins is reasonable pace. Not gonna lie I expected Riot to wait longer before giving her a second one. Hopefully the next skin comes sometime in 2025 or early 2026.

Is Aurora worth buying skins for?

If you main Aurora or play her regularly in ranked then yes. Both Epics are quality and change the feel of the champion noticeably. Her base skin is good enough to play without spending RP though. I'd say grab Arcana if you one-trick her, skip both if shes just a pocket pick you pull out once a month. Save the RP for your actual main.
